Premature ejaculation doctor shot to death in own office
Ronald Gilbert, father of two, was gunned down in his office in Hoag Hospital located in Orange County, California on Jan. 29 at around 2:45 p.m. local time.
A well respected doctor in the medical community Gilbert was known for his treatment of sexual dysfunctions, especially premature ejaculation. He was the chief scientist at Absorption Pharmaceuticals, and was behind a revolutionary drug that would help men perform sexually much longer than is typically possible.
Police do not know what provoked the gunman, who was captured at the scene, and the shooter's name has not yet been released. A single handgun and bullet casings were found by law enforcement.
A woman who works in the building, Becky Calderwood, says she recognized the shooter and claims that he was a patient of Dr. Gilbert, according to the Los Angeles Times. She went on to say, "I sit right at the front desk, I would have caught the first bullet."
The shooter remains in police custody and is currently being held without bail in the Orange County Jail.
