Will we beat Denver?
I think we lose by multiple scores, but I can see us sneaking out a win if a few things happen.
1) Avery returning brings an added element to the offense and forces Denver to back their safeties up. This is an element they haven't seen on tape to prepare for and I wouldn't be surprised if we come out and test them deep a few times early on. 2) Avant is able to get us 3 or 4 first downs. Alex Smith has throw too many good passes that should have gone for first downs if the catch is secured. Hopefully Avant can give us what Dexter did last year down the stretch in terms of possession receiver. 3) Houston, Hali, Poe, Bailey and Ford find ways to pressure Manning and limit him to shorter throws. 4) Gaines/Smith finds a way to match up with their receivers. This will be the toughest test our secondary will face all year. 5) Our OL gives Alex time to find the open man and opens up a few holes for Charles and Davis. 6) Alex gets the ball to Kelce a lot more. This kid should be getting 7-10 targets every game. 7) As with any other game, win the turnover battle. We can't afford to cough up the ball against them and we will need to take it away a couple times, too. 8) Crowd noise. It needs to be loud as it can be to help our pass rush get Manning uncomfortable. I guess I could list a lot more things we have going for u that can give us a chance to win this one, but it's gonna be tough. |
No.

Who is this "Ford" person you speak of?

So much of this game will be determined by Phillip Gaines. He's the best matchup we have have for Emmanuel Sanders.
Take Sanders out of the game and we have a real chance. Andy has 10 days to prepare. He's got a A great record when he has extra time. I see a lot of new wrinkles from him and Avery/Avant are big upgrades over Jenkins and Hemmingway. I think with the extra time, home SNF atmosphere, health of returning players, frustration from last weeks debacle, urgency for our playoff spot and finally the emotion we'll use for Berry, I think we win. Denver 27 KC 31 |
We win.
Fitting for the chiefs after our last game... |
I think we have a chance, but I don't think it's going to happen.
|
Chiefs win 24-17
Manning is removed from the game due to injury. |
I don't think we match up with them very well at all, and they're better.
Close loss |

If the Chiefs are going to win this game, it is going to be with a ball-control offense. Keeping Manning off the field and not making stupid mistakes and penalties will be crucial. If the Chiefs control the game with their style of play, the Chiefs win 20-17. If they are unable to keep drives going and the defense stays on the field too long, the Broncos win 31-24. |
wish I could say I'm conficent...but I at least know we will be compettive, and that's nice to know.
|
I think we hold a lead for about two and a half quarters, then Peyton will eviscerate us like he always does. I hate to say it, but I think that's what is going to happen. Peyton does that shit in 90% of his games with everyone.
I think the Chiefs will play inspired and will show some flaws with the Broncos, but when a team can trot out a QB that is arguably a top three to five QB in history, it's a hell of an equalizer. |
It really is as simple as the Chiefs sustaining drives and scoring TDs.
Well, and Reid not being stupid with play selection. |
yes but it won't matter because they will still hold the tie breaker for first place in afc west

Sunday night in Arrowhead on some extra days to prep, against a division rival after losing your leader to some real life shit. I believe in extra motivation and am expecting an extremely inspired defensive performance tomorrow night. KC finally gets them.
|
It would be nice to just curb stomp them though.
|
My heart says yes... but my head says no.... I think we need to be up two scores and have the ball with 5min to go. But still would be be nervous.

The Rams figured out how to hold them to 7 points. I would think Reid paid close attention to what was done during that game along with the Patriots game when 5 head was held to 21 points.
Going out on a limb but I think our defense holds them to 21 or less. That is a very winnable game for us especially at home. |
We will win... a lot of it will ride on how well our corners cover. Really unsure about Gaines on Sanders but I'm sure he'll get safety help. Think Welker is going to be a nightmare for us.
|
Probably a seven to ten point loss if I'm guessing.
|
doubtful
I think we've beaten Manning once in his entire career. We've lost to him with more talent than this team has. If we win it will be because of coaching. Reid > Fox |

Denver has played the Chiefs with Avery active multiple times. Having Avery will be inconsequential. |
Fox is a buffoon.

I think we keep it close for 3 q, then manning pushes our shit in.
Donks 38 Chiefs 24 |
I bet $100 for a Denver win. They are D O O O O M E D!!!

Teams that beat Manning tend to play a lot of zone or more complicated man/zone coverages. Chiefs defense is very simple and has never given him any trouble before. Chiefs could still win, but will likely entail an outlier perfomance from an Alex Smith from an offensive and points production standpoint.
|
Our only shot is to have 3+ 7 minute scoring drives on offense

Big game for DAT

I we do the first 7 then we can win any game.
The key to this game is simply putting pressure on Manning. Posted via Mobile Device |
I have to believe that the entire team is lifted by Berry's plight and will come away with a win. The NFL loves feel good stories.

Big game for Kelse

Big game for Avant

Big game for Charles

Big game for Davis

Big game for Houston

Big game for Alex

KC will win by 7

Big game for my liver

Bad game for my Liver. But my liver is evil , it must be punished.

Will probably be decided by the refs, to be honest.
I don't think KC is strong enough yet to beat Denver AND the officiating. If Houston and Hali are getting held all day and that's overlooked? Chiefs lose. If the refs throw multiple ticky-tack DPI calls against KC, Chiefs lose. I really don't know what I'm feeling about this one. It could truly go a lot of different ways, and none of them would surprise me. |

I don't see short routes here. This is Flowers simply getting beat by Decker and Lewis having no idea where the **** he was supposed to be. That's what I'm talking about. |
we win by 10.
Book it |
Yes. We came thiiiiis close to beating them earlier this year in Denver, and since then, we're playing better while they're playing worse. Plus, we've had more time to rest, and between our second-place status are our stinging loss last week to the Oakland Anti-Christs, we'll be hungrier.
All signs point to yes. |
Take a late hit flag and hit Fivehead early. I don't know why teams don't do this. When he gets hit he gets jittery. Well worth an early 15 yards
|
It won't even be close. We are about to destroy Denver on national TV.

I'd be much more confident in a Denver win if J. Thomas and Talib were playing. This one will be close imho...

KC has a 1-10 record vs. Manning. As much as I want the Chiefs to humiliate him and that cheating shit franchise...I dont think its going to happen. He just plays well at Arrowhead.. I do think KC has a chance to win out the rest of the season though..
The game will be close...but Reid will leave too much time on the clock...either in the first half or at the end. |

Chiefs get to do neither officiating: edge to Donks Defense: edge Chiefs offense: edge Donks Special teams: edge Chiefs Coaching: edge Chiefs Homefield: edge Chiefs Chiefs should be able to win but we all know that a huge advantage on offense and having the officials in their pocket is worth more than just an 'edge' |
