Steele Jantz!!

Canofbier 01-18-2013 07:21 PM

If we're going to draft the brother of an NFL QB, I'd rather have Derek Carr somewhere in the later rounds. Too bad he's going back to school.

ChiefGator 01-18-2013 07:24 PM

What happened to Marc Vick?

Mr_Tomahawk 01-18-2013 07:53 PM

He would actually be great on the practice squad. His receivers just dropped everything and he wasn't good in the zone read the OC ran with him. He has all the skills for an NFL offense.

Hahaha

He got benched by Iowa state, but he has the tools to play in the NFL...wow.

ISU was better this year than last year. Next year they will be better!

Titty Meat 01-19-2013 12:56 AM

Jordan Stanzi was the same QB as Andrew Luck in college

To be fair that does happen. Palko started over Flacco in college.

But Jantz sucks.

RustShack 01-19-2013 01:26 AM

Jantz won't get a chance because he plays for Iowa State, and scouts looking at their film will just be on defense. He has everything you want from an NFL QB, he just wasn't used properly. He couldn't run the zone read and the OC wouldn't go away from that.

Iowa game last year, Baylor game this year were a few of the games where he showcased his skills. All the potential is there. Recievers dropping easy passes and incompetent OC was just too much to handle. The OC had him rushing more than our best RB some games when he should have been used like Geno Smith was.

RustShack 01-19-2013 01:46 AM

But I'm used to it. I got a lot of shit last year for talking up Leonard Johnson who ended up having a nice rookie year for the Bucs. Steele won't get a shot though although less physically talented guys will get drafted.

No, you got shit because you wanted us to draft whem while Leonard is best served a zone (specifically a Tampa 2) defense. He struggles in man but is solid in zone. That is why people here ripped on you when you wanted him as a chief. We really didn't play zone a whole lot under Romeo, period.

He sure didn't struggle in man at Iowa State ever. But I'm sure you watched a lot of him.

I watched all of last year's film.

I really did like the guy in a Tampa 2 or even a fire-zone based 3-4, especially in the nickel.

Just my opinion though. I also thought that ****ing Golden Tate was going to be the next Steve Smith (different positions, I know).

I'd agree, except Joe Montana was pretty far from your prototypical QB from a physical standpoint.

Physically, he was built like Brodie Croyle. They're almost the exact same ht/wt.

The difference between Montana and Croyle was in the head.

But even still, I don't believe Montana played in every game in any season.

Edit:Quick search shows he played in 16 games twice, 15 games twice, and 14 games once.

Mr_Tomahawk 01-19-2013 07:58 PM

Anybody have a chance to watch him in the NFLPA game...?

Mr_Tomahawk 02-27-2013 09:28 PM

I'd bet this guy is our backup when he goes undrafted...

After leaving Notre Dame, he couldn't even get a start at the University of Montana.

Notre Dame.

After graduating from high school in 2008, he enrolled at*Notre Dame*and joined the*Fighting Irish*football team's coach*Charlie Weis*as a walk-on, with the hope of landing a*scholarshipas a sophomore.[2]*Following Montana's freshman year at Notre Dame, he found himself well down the depth chart at quarterback. In order to increase his playing time, he withdrew from Notre Dame in 2009 and tried out for Mt. SAC's football program but would not be the starting quarterback and later enrolled at*Pasadena City College*in*southern California*as a*redshirtfreshman.[3]*Montana re-enrolled at Notre Dame in January 2010. He was the quarterback behind*Tommy Rees*and*Dayne Crist.[4]*He played in three games for the Fighting Irish as a junior in 2010, and was 9 for 18 for 116 yards with an interception.[5]*On February 14, 2011, Montana confirmed he was transferring to the*University of Montana, a top FCS program in theBig Sky Conference. As the transfer was from FBS to FCS, he was eligible to play immediately.[6]*He transferred to*West Virginia Wesleyan, a*Division II*program, in May 2012.[7]

Damond Talbot ‏@drocksthaparty 17m
I actually talked to an AFC east scout about Jordan Rodgers today and his exact words were, I have no clue, he could be better than his bro

Damond Talbot ‏@drocksthaparty 17m
The AFC East Scout went on to say Jordan Rodgers has a very good arm and hates to lose. Said he loves his tenacity

Mother****erJones 04-03-2013 09:07 PM

He has the genes. Id take him as a development guy for a few years.

He did make some nice throws against Missouri IIRC

007 04-15-2013 09:40 AM

Might as well get him with our 4th or 5th. All of the teir one QBs will be gone before our 3rd pick finally comes up.

Cmd'r&Chief 04-15-2013 11:25 AM

Jordan Rodgers will not make it to round 5...somebody will get desperate and draft him in the 3rd

That's OK. My choice of late round QB is Peter Lalich after reading stuff about him. 6'6", 245, and evidently damn good arm.

Except the daylight between Peyton and Eli is a lot smaller that between Aaron and this guy.

Yep, another Gabe Miller.

We should just trade all our 4-7's to move up every year and just draft in 1-3.

The Jaguars waived rookie quarterback Jordan Rodgers today. Roster stands at 90 players.

Jordan: As soon as I sign a contract with the Chiefs practice squad, I'll move out of your basement.
