Catastrophic Party Traumatizes Mister Kitty

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/0...n_4669234.html

You're in trouble meow...

A Buffalo, N.Y., high school student hired by a family to watch their cats while they were vacationing in Costa Rica may be responsible for thousands of dollars of damage to the family's home. The girl, who has not been identified, threw a party for about 50 people at the house on Dec. 27.

The family returned from the vacation to find the sitter attempting to clean the mess. But it wasn't the kind of mess that you'd just vacuum up.

“The destruction to our house is considerable. There was human feces, urine and vomit in numerous locations. Every floor in the house was rifled. There was broken furniture and there were multiple used condoms,” homeowner Steven Binder told the Buffalo News.

According to the newspaper, some of that damage was documented on social media. The family said about $6,000 in cash and valuables was taken from the home. There was evidence of drug use at the home, according to Gawker.

The cat sitter offered the $90 she was paid to watch the cats as compensation for the damage. Binder said that's not going to cut it.

“It took an industrial strength cleaning to get rid of the odors of urine and vomit, and we keep discovering more,” Binder told the Buffalo News. “I don’t know that I won’t open a box in my attic at some point and discover more vomit. There was vomit everywhere.”

Many of the attendees were students at some of the city's top high schools, according to police. It is unclear if the sitter will be charged, but prosecutors said the case will most likely end up being a civil matter, rather than a criminal one.

Binder said the cats were traumatized by the party.

Another example of why northerners should just stay up north and not head to the deep south. It's December, Buffalo is surely a winter wonderland! They version of hicks take-over and shit in the house!

I really don't understand how this could be just a civil matter. It looks like a felony was committed from just reading the article.

greatgooglymoogly 01-26-2014 03:21 PM

That probably increased the property value.

I've often considered moving there, it supposed to be a killer place for Americans to live.

I work with a guy who grew up in Buffalo. He says "Winter: too cold, too much snow, for too long."

Ive been there. Niagra Falls is cool, and Canada is 20 minutes away. Summers are OK, winters are God Awful.

Maybe he meant Costa Rica and not Buffalo?

I've spend some time in neighboring Panama and close-by Columbia, I found that many of the locals we "interacted with" didn't like "Americans" very much.

Maybe things have changed...

Haha, yeah I herped it up, meant to make it clear I was speaking of Costa Rica.

Meh, I'd have to make that determination myself, but even if some of them are a bit standoffish I'd sure enjoy how far my dollar stretched, the weather and proximity to the ocean.

It was my fault for not being clear, Buffalo is about the LAST place I'd want to live.

Perhaps you missed my point! Mine was not a vacation. ROFLROFLROFL And "standoff" was in the vernacular, but not in the same way. :D:D:D

It was the late 80s and early 90s, and Reagan and Bush-1, well......it was the 80s and 90s!! :D:D

I wondered why you said Buffalo is a good place for Americans to live. Too many Canadians around or something? ROFL

I was in the military... And there were no negotiations, at that point "those" had failed I guess...

I'm just in no rush to go back there. The bugs are big, the heat is stupid, the humidity is more stupid, and there's nothing there that you can't get elsewhere.

What about a deluxe meal for pennies and a decent apartment near the beach for a pittance? Sounds good to me.

I honestly love heat, the hotter it is the more I feel like getting out and doing something, particularly if theres an ocean beach just blocks away... sounds like you were probably part of the Panama invasion, amirite?

Had a buddy with 3 confirmed kills during that deal, but I bet Panama is far more inviting these days...

No. But in the late 80s and early 90s there were any number of things going on in the area.

All I can say is that serving under the Reagan administration, and to an ever so slightly lesser extent Bush-1, was a hell of a ride. I have to hold my tongue as I talk to the men coming back from the current hot-spots. They are awesome and they are more than capable, but they are hamstrung a LOT more than we ever were.

"Top high schools"????

WTF does it matter which high school they were from? Why would you go out of your way to point that out? What, are you worried this story might make people think that POOR people were in your home? Language gives you away...

What were Bieber's beverly hills neighbors trying to say the eggs did - $20,000 worth of damage?

This girl is going to owe them a new house

She should have just burned it down.

Insurance pays, very little evidence would be left from the party, etc.
