Haha or Marqise?

I am a huge fan of these guys and think both have big time potential at the next level to be difference makers.

If it weren't for the injury and Barkley leaving, Lee would be a top 5 pick quality player. Big time playmaker at a position of desperate need. We need a wideout that Alex can lean on when defenses are bracketing Bowe. Lee would be a perfect fit IMO. He plays bigger than his measured size, has great hands, runs routes effectively and is unquestioned playmaker.

Haha Clinton-Dix is a guy that would fit perfectly with our defense. He has been in a 3-4 playing free safety in his time in college and has showed considerable upside. He has good speed and his ball skills make him stand out. He plays the deep ball consistently and is experienced in big games doing so. He could step in and help us limit teams to the underneath stuff, or to pay for trying to test our defense deep.

I think either guy would be a near perfect fit and I expect one of them to be available where we pick. Both positions are deep in this class, so that really shouldn't be a huge factor in the decision.

If both are available, which guy do you take?

The Franchise 12-09-2013 02:03 PM

Lee.

BossChief 12-09-2013 02:07 PM

I'd go with Lee, too.

My hope is that he falls to us or we move up to take him...then hope a guy like Boston falls to us in the third. I really like that kid, too.

BourbonMan 12-09-2013 02:09 PM

Dix would be great, but I don't think he will stay on the board long enough for us to get.

The Franchise 12-09-2013 02:11 PM

This team needs a legit WR more than it needs a FS at this time.

aturnis 12-09-2013 10:03 PM

I doubt either will be available.

rolltide2014 12-10-2013 12:16 AM

Haha is a damn good playmaker, but if all they say about Kendrick being the brains on the defense, they're going to have to find someone to take that over. This guy is ****ing dumb, no other way to put it. How he manages to learn a playbook is beyond me. That being said, I think he'd be a damn good addition to our secondary. :D

saphojunkie 12-10-2013 01:28 PM

I absolutely want Marquis Lee above any player in this draft, save Bridgewater and Clowney.

But I can't help it. I just imagine after every tackle, all of arrowhead doing this:

Dante84 12-10-2013 04:11 PM

Lee, but he wont be there.

IMO - we are going to be drafting anywhere from 25-32 (probably in the 25-28 range).

We will likely get a shot at the #2 or #3 ranked person at the WR and S position groups.

BryanBusby 12-11-2013 03:29 AM

Marqise Lee could be available when the Chiefs are on the board. I anticipate a very deep class at WR and teams may wait it out to get help.

Clinton-Dix will be off the board before the Chiefs ever get on the clock.

CaliforniaChief 12-20-2013 11:29 PM

Lee or another playmaking WR. I believe Commings will be our FS next year.

spanky 52 12-21-2013 07:51 AM

If it's down to those two I take Lee and let Commings and Parker compete for FS next year. Have to think they'll go after Maclin in FA.

KCFaninSEA 12-22-2013 10:14 AM

Both fill high need slots and seem to project to be quality NFL players. It will depend on how the coaching staff feels about Cummings and what they want to do in FA. I want Lee though.

I haven't seen enough of Lee to even have an opinion on him.

However, as the resident Bama fan, I can speak a bit on Ha Ha.

As the OP mentioned, he's been playing in a very similar base scheme for a two years. He's smart, and a good tackler. He's not a world beater by any means (at least up to this point). But intelligance and tackling make him valuable because you can confidently line him up in multiple sets and not be scared in doing so.

Overall a very very solid player that would be more than a worthy pick for any team. especially the Chiefs with their situtation with Lewis.

McBeard 01-03-2014 07:07 AM

Ha Ha is a suspect tackler. He's an ankle biter. I think we will hear a lot more about this leading up to the draft. He is a fantastic play maker but he needs to improve his tackling.

I loved Lee coming into the season but he dropped a bunch of balls. I'd be OK with taking him but I'd prefer Jordan Mathews or Odell Beckham. Those guys run perfect routes and catch everything. They are more in line with what we need.

I'd take Lee if I had to choose between the two.

KevB 01-06-2014 12:32 AM

I'm going to be banging the drum for Marqise Lee. Dude was a top 5 pick if he came out last year and didn't bust at the combine. Injuries impacted his performance this season, which benefits us picking at 23. He's the playmaker at WR we've been looking for, and he might actually fall to us.

BryanBusby 01-06-2014 12:33 AM

I think Marqise Lee starts to rise again and exits the realm of possibility for KC.

If he somehow lasts to 23, I don't see how you could pass.

I agree, he's not going to fall to us.

That very well could be. Keenan Allen was also a sure fire first round pick this time last year, and look what happened to him.

There are several QB's that could creep into the top 20 this season --- if that happens, good players like Lee fall down the board.

The Franchise 01-06-2014 11:58 AM

Neither one will be there for our pick. I don't see Haha getting past St. Louis/Green Bay and I don't see Lee making it past Baltimore.

Well Keenan Allen ran like a 4.70. Marqise Lee is not going to be doing that.

Jakemall 01-06-2014 04:03 PM

You take which ever one is there at 23 and laugh your head off with manical happiness. Ha Ha would probably have the bigger impact right now. You can probably get a solid WR or TE in the 3rd or 4th rounds...

Dion Bailey might be there in the 3rd too..but I don't know if he'll be there deep enough for the Chiefs.

Someone needs to just ensure Lee pulls his hamstring before the combine.

It's for a good cause.

I'll take whichever one is there...but probably neither will be.

For the record, i love that name...Ha Ha.

As an aside...Gameday was at Tuscaloosa at some point this year and someone was holding up a sign saying.... "Monica Lewinsky loves Clinton Dix, Ha Ha!"...that still makes me laugh.

Absolutely false.

What position is easier to replace this year in FA? To me it is WR so I would go with Ha Ha and then upgrade WR in free agency.

OldSchool 01-07-2014 09:12 AM

Realistically, I don't think either player will make it to pick 23. Someone will bite on Lee earlier due to his monster 2012 campaign and the numbers he will likely put up in post-season workouts. Ha Ha, like all Alabama defenders, will be overrated by teams and taken earlier than he should be.

See, I view it differently. We control our destiny in free agency. In the draft, there might not(read: probably won't) be any value at any of our picks. Why? Because the WR class is deep and the safety class is shit. Therefore, I recommend pursuing a free agent at safety over a free agent at wide receiver.

Easy 6 01-10-2014 11:54 PM

My hope is that Dix falls to us or we somehow wrangle a way of getting him, he's by all acounts the best ballhawk of the crop and a player at that position has a much better chance of making an immediate impact than a receiver would... and if Commings pans out we'd be sitting very pretty back there.

This draft is apparently stacked with receivers, so waiting until the third shouldnt be a big deal, add him to the proven free agent they had BETTER go get and we should be fine there.

In my perfect world two of every three in this draft are defensive players... secondary and pass rushers, its time to stock up.

As hard as it would be to pass on Lee I think you gotta go Ha Ha. But either would be sweet

Couple things. A: l agree. That dude just has a cool name all around. If he is the Chiefs pick, I'm getting a jersey pronto

B: I didn't see that sign but that may be my favorite sign of all time

chiefscafan 01-11-2014 09:51 PM

Don't know my favorite sign was

"Rudy was offsides!"

Also good

CallMeSquidwad 01-12-2014 09:21 AM

We simply have to go best player available with no 2nd round pick. I think we should go for 1 of the 3 TEs, although I will come back in a month after I've done my work on all 3 of them, but Amaro, Ebron, and Seferian-Jenkins are all projected in our range, and I think if Kelce could comeback and we have 2 beast TE's that would make this offense absolutely unbelievable. We could actually get that 8th man out of the box for Jamaal and Knile without changing formations and losing blockers. I think we follow the Patriots mold of the last few years, and if we do Jamaal will have an even better year than he had this year.

Mr_Tomahawk 01-12-2014 10:26 AM

Neither.

Draft another RT.

OldSchool 01-12-2014 11:32 AM

Why so high on Bama DBs? They've turned out to be nothing but busts in the NFL in the Saban years. Don't see that changing any time soon.
