John Dorsey coming up next on NFL Network
FYI,
Dorsey is coming up next on NFLN. |
over/under how how long it takes him to stutter how his first word?

"Chiefsplanet is a force to be reckoned with."

Easiest position to evaluate is kickers. LMAO
|
I'm having a tough time taking him serious with those glasses...they are like...way too small for his head.

A lot of football guys view Albert as a LT.

Do you view Albert as a left tackle
"i think a lot of NFL people view Albert as a Left Tackle" didn't answer the question ... ducking and dodging ... won't commit to anything typical GM speak |
How many players are you considering for the 1st overall pick:
"I'm considering 333 players in the combine right now." LMAO Dude is not saying SHIT. |

Are Chiefs rebuilding?
blah,blah,blah ... no answer ... blah,blah believes BPA |
John Dorsey might be a dickhead. I can't quite decide just yet.
He just stomped all over some woman that asked him about his previous interview on QBs. He's an interesting guy, but I could see him becoming quite the Napoleon. Now if he puts that energy towards the bettering the football team rather than cleaning the halls and consolidating power, I can live with it. But I don't get the impression that Dorsey has much of a bedside manner. |
Pointless.

back tracking a bit from 'no QB a true #1' comment
'That was early in the process when i made that comment' hinting that maybe he's change his mind |

I agree, Dorsey is not saying much. None of the GM's are. They have no reason to tip their hands. |

WAIT!!! SUBSTANCE!!! It sounds like he likes Poe quite a bit. |
Talking up Poe.

That's it. Complete BS mostly.

Going to talk to 6-8 qb's this weekend

They were showing film in the backdrop of our QB's making awful off-target throws and hanging our receivers out to dry. Just terrible.
|
seems to have a positive view on Dontari Poe
|
Damn right this fanbase is passionate. Watch your ass, or you'll be next in the crosshairs.

They're trying to sign him and whether or not he's a left tackle is a MAJOR contributor to how much he's going to get paid. |

The Chiefs are not going to look anything like the Chiefs in two years. This is going to be a blue collar rebuilding effort - hopefully somebody else is working the spreadsheet though.
|
Poe is gonna wreck shit in a 1-gap.
He's raw but he's a rare specimen. |

I don't care if Dorsey stutters and has to use sign language so the flop sweats aren't noticable, if he wins, hooray. |

I don't care if Dorsey is blunt as ****.
***** was a ****ing charlatan and was constantly trying to snake-tongue the media. Dorsey doesn't give a ****. He knows his job is based on decisions, not being Slick McDick. |

But if he makes good picks, how he talks to the media wont mean shit. Posted via Mobile Device |

most players won't take a 60% cut in pay with their existing team I think they feel embarrassed about it ... they would rather move to another team and take a 70% cut. |

"Well let me tell you something..." is the verbal equivalent of drawing back your fist. I mean damn, you don't have to go to executive training to know that. I'm not going to say that it will interfere with his ability to be a great GM - afterall, that attitude and style can be put to good use if it's directed in the right fashion. But it is certainly different and is probably going to be offputting to many of us at times. If he doesn't win in the next 3 years, just wait - he'll get that 'arrogant prick' tag just as badly as Pioli did. It's just something worth watching, that's all. If he handles everyone like that, he's going to have some unhappy staff and I'd really hate to see that. I think that's part of the problem with the Pioli regime, that poison atmosphere really does trickle down to all parts of the team, including the roster. I hope we don't have that again, even if it's by accident. |

That said, I don't see anything in Jax skill-set to suggest he's better suited for a 1-gap. His first step isn't great, he has no pass-rushing moves to speak of and he isn't exactly smart about play recognition so he'll get abused by misdirection if allowed to just aggressively pursue. Oh sure, he'll probably be more productive, but his skill-set is still better suited to a 2-gap. He's just a lousy draft pick all-around. |

He clearly wasn't worth where he was drafted but he did a decent job at what he was asked to do. I also saw some flashes of something better when he has a chance to be more aggressive. He's not worth 14 million per but i would be interested to see what he can do in a 1-gap at something like 4 million per. I doubt he takes a cut like that though so he will probably be gone. |

But I agree with this. |
If T-Jax were a 3rd round pick, he'd have been an adequate pick. Not a good one, but an adequate one. Laz is right - he didn't totally suck (all the time), but he damn sure wasn't good either. He's one of those replaceable players that you look to upgrade but every team has (even the good ones).
That's why you try to re-structure him. In the end, however, if you can't get him to agree to a market rate for an average DE, you cut him and go sign another DE at the market rate for that ability. He's not a guy you worry about one way or the other. "Tyson - this is what we'll pay you" "No, I won't take a paycut" "Okay...well we're gonna need your playbook" It's not a decision that worries me in the slightest. Either he'll take a cut to the market rate for this position and ability or he won't and we'll bring someone in here that makes sense for that contribution. Works for me. |

Pioli used to talk about wanting the coach to be the face, but that was disingenuous bullshit; he wanted the accolades and attention. Dorsey's ineptitude with the mic obviates this potential problem. |
You hope that Dorsey is a personnel savant, because he's probably not speaking at the Sloan Kettering conference any time soon.
|
Quote:
He kind of has that "Dickhead High School Football Coach" vibe to him but I chalk that up more to confidence than being a dickhead. |

I like it. Much better than the slick-politician speak we got from Scott
|
Dont give a sh*t how good he is in front of a camera.
All i care about is his ability make good picks and build a team. |
