I need to watch myself in these "Luv" threads. Sometime back she was going through one of her "I suck" phases and I said she was hot to help her self esteem. Anyway, a month ago the Mrs. saw that thread and jumped my shit for it. Crazy times

Someone mentioned being carhops at Sonic (on our skates) for an afternoon. I thought that one was kind of cool.

I thought about seeing if places around town would donate items to auction off at one of our bouts.

Skate-a-thon - would have to work out the details on that.

The team waitresses a night for free in exchange for tip jars on the tables that go to the team.

Girls wear their Uni's ... probably not on skates though, but maybe.

Work with an existing charity organization that's putting on a benefit dinner and see if your team can provide help (in the kitchen, serving food, giving a speech about the benefits of the sport, hanging out with the guests as minor celebrities) in order to grab a chunk of the pie.

Volunteer to do visits in women's shelters, hospitals etc. to help sell your merchandise.

Teach a skate and bike kids safety class on the weekends in your uni, charge a small amount for the class. Make it slightly more than the cost of a piece of merchandise. Give the kids a cheap piece of merchandise when they complete the class.

For promotional purpose to help them establish a brand linked to their team name, not to sell merch to the patients.

I assume that her team is depending on the local community for fund raising activity. Doing actual good works in the community helps to establish them as a worthy organization.

I'm looking for fundraisers.

Most of our girls work full time, go to practices, plan and attend bouts both here and away, as well as have families. Not really a lot of time for classes.

Our local Shrine used to sell pull tabs (pickle tickets).

They used to have kick ass stags too with local talent

Stand on the medians at busy stoplights and sell the large pixie sticks.

My ideas are:

3. Lucrative if you abstain from shaving for a while

You've never been to a bout and you don't know anyone who plays derby. Not everyone is as fat and ugly as me. Your ideas are stupid. I appreciate your trolling though. It makes me feel special.

Time is money. The magic roller derby fairy isn't going to help you. At some point girls on your team are going to have to invest time in fundraising if you want to make it work.

Do an NCAA bracket game. $10 buyin. Each gal on the team must get 10 people. Payout half the pot

I'm guessing people would rather just go in on one that doesn't have roller derby girls dipping their grubby little hands into the pot.

Roller zombie crawl. Do it at a school track or old emptish mall. Contestants get a belt and have to make it around the track. Make them wear flag football belts. When they lose them they Are out. Derby girls can wear rollerskates. If you can complete the course with any remaing flags you get a shirt or date with your roller derby girl of choice. Can do 35 to 50 for the race. Sell shirts also. Then give out wwinners shirts.
