Boldin Anyone?
Reid tried getting him once, perhaps he'll do so again opposite of Bowe?
ESPN's Adam Schefter suggests Anquan Boldin could be a cap casualty this offseason. The Ravens are headed for salary cap issues in 2013 and haven't even locked up impending free agent Joe Flacco yet. Boldin, who turns 33 in October, is owed $6 million in 2013 -- the final year of his contract. He hasn't topped 921 yards or seven touchdowns in any of his three seasons with the Ravens. It's possible that Saturday's Divisional playoff game in Denver will be his final one in purple. |

No thanks we've done a nice enough job of stocking up on slow WRs.

Heard on the radio this morning that Reid isn't usually too excited about acquiring guys over 30. Not sure if he'll still use that same strategy, but if he does, Boldin probably isn't an option.

Loved watching Boldin play with the Cards.
Like all offensive players who play for the Ravens, however, he turned fat and bad. Likely doesn't have juice in the tank. Meh. |
Wouldve loved to sign him when he was coming from the Cards.

Great player in his prime who still flashes. Example: phenomenal TD catch this past weekend.
But no thanks. |

I'd like one speed guy in KC. Heard Maclin may be available next season.
If we lose Bowe, yea I would take Boldin. Let's hope Reid can fix this thing so Baldwin actually has more than one catch every 4 weeks. :thumb: |

I'll take Boldin and AJ McCarron's girlfriend for the daily double.
AQ (and I dont mean Al Qaeda...) is a tough SOB who fights for the ball and YAC. Rebuilding team needs leaders- especially on offense of which ours is a grease fire right now. I think he could do well here, like Eddie Kennison did in his final years. |
No thanks, he's nearing the end and we already have a big, physical star receiver... lets get some speed in here, i dont want to look like the jags of a few years ago with a bunch of power forwards out there lumbering around.

No thanks. Re-sign Bowe.

maybe as a WR coach

We have plenty of cap-space to go out there and retain the younger, better version of him. He's redundant here.
If we pursue a WR in free agency, it need to be a guy that can complement Bowe; a faster WR that can keep safeties honest and work in zones that Bowe won't occupy. It doesn't necessarily have to be a true 'deep' WR, but at least someone that presents a credible threat 25 yards downfield, opening up some zones for Bowe and allowing him more YAC opportunities. Greg Jennings and Jeremy Maclin are both good targets there. There will be others as well, but those are just the names off the top of my head. Someone like Santana Moss would be a nice fit if you're looking to do it cheaply or a draft pick like Titus Young (but probably not Young himself as he appears to have lost his damn mind). |

I'm willing to give him another shot. |

I don't think he's a complimentary player to Bowe. They do many of the same things, only Boldin got deep more because he had a QB that could get it there.

Move Baldwin's slow ass to TE?

:shake: @ those ready to give up on Baldwin. Unreal.

Is it unrealistic to believe Reid let's Bowe walk while bringing in Mike Wallace instead?

Misread OP as Baldwin. Forgive me.

Bowe is going to flourish in WCO with his brutal skill set off the ball. Baldwin needs to get that going too. What both players have to offer to the WCO style is their height & strength, the ability to leverage quickly and give the QB a large target. I've seen Baldwin run good routes at practice, but during games he does not get off the ball quickly enough and does not understand leverage at this level. He has a hard time adjusting his routes to press cover & has been poor route runner as a result. He needs to get stronger upper body and he needs to learn much better technique all around. The guy has not been putting himself in the right position getting off the ball, during initial cuts & shielding the pass using his body. It has been poor, all of it. But, he seems to know it from what I saw during practices. It simply did not translate during games. CB's are really having their way with him. If Haley were here, he'd be all on Baldwin to bend those knees, head up. This coming season will be his make or break, I believe. |
