Jerm 07-08-2016 11:25 PM

**** yes.....lets gooooooo....man I'm almost as hyped for DC/Spider as I was for DC/Bones lol...

Nunes
BAAAARACK LESSSSNAR
DC
Aldo
Cain

I'll probably be wrong on all 5 lol...

alnorth 07-08-2016 11:29 PM

DC should win, it probably won't be a competitive fight, but ****, that is such a weird matchup. I don't know if the spider can beat DC, but I want to see him try. If he can even make it a close fight, my God, his already legendary status will be elevated that much more. As much of a legend as he is now, there is no expectation for him to be competitive here.

Jerm 07-08-2016 11:32 PM

Imagine if he beats him...the turmoil...would be nutso land....

If DC is unhappy with the taunts from fans that he's a paper champ now? lol.... just imagine the shit he'll get if the Spider somehow finds a way to win in a non-title fight. DC has a TON of pressure to beat the legend. If he wins, who cares, he's a bigger guy, he was supposed to win, but if he loses..... lolololol....

raybec 4 07-08-2016 11:40 PM

Tate
DC
Hunt
Edgar
Cain

I would never dismiss The Spider, he's one of the all time greats, but he's not been in camp, he's smaller by a pretty wide margin, DC is a very good striker and a phenomenal wrestler. Nunes was set up to fail, UFC is praying she doesn't win. Lesnar will need a quick take down and some ground and pound. To beat Hunt. Aldo is incredible but Frankie is bigger and stronger, his footwork is the best in the division. I wouldn't root against Cain against anybody, he's my favorite because he's built on hard work and not superior talent.

I put money on juiced to the gills (Lesnar) tonight.

We'll see what happens.

If Cormier is smart (which he is), he will just ragdoll Silva.

Chael Sonnen gave Silva all he could handle their first go. DC is a much better fighter than Chael and Silva isn't as good as he was then.

That was a great fight; my second favorite behind Frye/Takayama.

Silva is too cheap to pass up. I think if he prances around, Cormier will get sluggish.

This may change today, but for the last two days Brazil has not had a belt of any kind for the first time since 2006.

Haven't watched a UFC in a while but I am excited for this one.

I haven't ordered ppv or kept up with ufc since college. Is this a pretty good card? I'm having some friends over tonight and we've talked about ordering it.

10 dollars a head probably would be good. Better than watching a brawl at the honkey tonk

Before Jon Jones pissed hot a couple days ago, it was an incredible card, arguably on paper the best UFC card ever. It now is merely a fantastic card, obviously still worth buying.

It's funny....I'm oddly more fascinated for DC/Spider. Don't get me wrong, I would've loved to have seen DC/Bones II but I'm just as hyped for the show if not more now lol.

Easy 6 07-09-2016 01:22 PM

**** it, I'm ordering this... too good of a card to wait for dvd rental

Easy 6 07-09-2016 01:25 PM

Hunt and Lesnar really dropped weight for this one, each one is down to 165 pounds...

BigCatDaddy 07-09-2016 01:58 PM

Calling it now. Spider wins.

alnorth 07-09-2016 02:50 PM

Dana wanted it to be a 5-round title fight, but Silva said no, he only wants 3 rounds, saying if he wins, the people will know who the real champ is. Dana desperately needed him, so he pretty much said "OK, whatever you want, just get here".

Easy 6 07-09-2016 03:42 PM

Its ordered, it better live up to the hype for $60

alnorth 07-09-2016 05:09 PM

The gold octagon is a nice touch

alnorth 07-09-2016 05:36 PM

wow, all 3 fights in the fightpass prelims ended in round 1 KO's. So, they will have plenty of options to go to if they need to kill time tonight.

alnorth 07-09-2016 06:03 PM

Those looking for the prelims, they are on FS2 because that baseball game is taking forever

Easy 6 07-09-2016 06:35 PM

This countdown is cool, loved the Jeremy Stephens knockout LMAO

Literally knocked the snot out of Aldo

alnorth 07-09-2016 06:40 PM

I imagine this is a #1 contender fight, and its not even on the PPV.

thabear04 07-09-2016 06:59 PM

Think TJ wins this one by a split decision.

alnorth 07-09-2016 07:02 PM

Holy shit, Bruce Buffer's suit tonight is on point

OldSchool 07-09-2016 07:22 PM

Lesner and Hunt look small for 165 . . .

Sorter 07-09-2016 07:25 PM

I find it really interesting that Johny fights in a complete different style than he did when working out with Pendleton, Lewis, and Esposito.

Thinking new drug testing procedures did JH in.

His weird troll-like body also doesn't help him. He'd have an easier time making weight at Middleweight but he would be badly out-reached at MW. He's kinda screwed.

edit: ooh, this is a great fight here. Cat Zingano is one of the most vicious women on the roster.

Easy 6 07-09-2016 07:47 PM

AWESOME toss by Zingano, that was strenfff

alnorth 07-09-2016 07:54 PM

wow, Cat Zingano is going to lose. This is a huge win for Pena

edit: should be a clear 29-28 UD for Pena

alnorth 07-09-2016 08:01 PM

Looking forward to that freakshow fight. Its the clearest, simplest fight on the card. Lesnar is an awesome wrestler with great ground and pound, but isn't worth a shit on the feet. Mark Hunt is the hardest puncher on the entire UFC roster, full stop. But he's in big trouble if he is taken down.

Lesnar has to take Mark Hunt down. Mark Hunt's plan is simple: 1) don't get taken down, 2) punch Lesnar in the head until he falls and stops moving.

dj56dt58 07-09-2016 08:10 PM

Lets do this

alnorth 07-09-2016 08:19 PM

huh, Buffer changed out of his crazy suit for the PPV.

Buck 07-09-2016 08:23 PM

Cain already wore Browne out like 2 min it.

thabear04 07-09-2016 08:25 PM

Wow only a few seconds left too.

Easy 6 07-09-2016 08:25 PM

Brown is a big galoot, Cain looked really small in comparison... but he just outclassed him, too much skill

dj56dt58 07-09-2016 08:25 PM

that was one sided

alnorth 07-09-2016 08:26 PM

I like the stop. John McCarthy has always said that if its time to stop, he'll do it even if there's 2 or 3 seconds left.

Buck 07-09-2016 08:26 PM

Those wheel kicks were crazy haven't seen him do that.

Buck 07-09-2016 08:29 PM

Cain trains for 2 months, wrecks shit, takes like one punch. I bet he'd be ready to go again next week.

BigCatDaddy 07-09-2016 08:31 PM

Seen enough of Browne for awhile. He had a few flukish wins.

Jerm 07-09-2016 08:35 PM

So silly this is an interim title fight....

Buck 07-09-2016 08:37 PM

Nearly every Frankie Edgar fight has been damn entertaining. Can't wait for this one.

alnorth 07-09-2016 08:49 PM

wow, Aldo just may have stolen that round. I'll still give it to Edgar, but I think Aldo is starting to find his range and timing

Buck 07-09-2016 08:50 PM

I think Aldo stole round 1

alnorth 07-09-2016 08:55 PM

19-19, this is the Aldo I expected to see instead of whatever Conor knocked out

BigCatDaddy 07-09-2016 08:55 PM

Got it 2-0 Edgar on volume and pressure.

Buck 07-09-2016 08:56 PM

Could be 1-1 or 2-0 either way right now. I think it's Aldo 2-0.

alnorth 07-09-2016 09:02 PM

Close round, Aldo 29-28

I think Edgar is going to melt in the championship rounds, he's dumping a lot of energy in those failed takedown attempts

BigCatDaddy 07-09-2016 09:02 PM

Got 3-0 Edgar but he alwaya seems to get screwed on these types of fights... similar to Benson fights.

Buck 07-09-2016 09:02 PM

Frankie hasn't done any significant damage. Just because he's throwing more I don't think he wins rounds by default. I think it's 3-0 Aldo.

Easy 6 07-09-2016 09:06 PM

Frankie is hanging back and defending a bit too much for me

Bet Aldo gets the split

alnorth 07-09-2016 09:08 PM

39-37. I think Edgar has to go for broke in the 5th round.

Buck 07-09-2016 09:08 PM

40-36 Aldo

BigCatDaddy 07-09-2016 09:08 PM

Aldo took. Got it 3-1 Frankie but could be 2--2 and this could be the fight here

alnorth 07-09-2016 09:10 PM

Just checked on a couple boards, there is no consensus at all among UFC fans. People have it anywhere between 3-1 Aldo, 2-2, or 3-1 Edgar.

Buck 07-09-2016 09:14 PM

That was a precision clinic. I have 50-45 Aldo. I think judges will have that or 49-46.

BigCatDaddy 07-09-2016 09:14 PM

Probably going to be 3-2 either way.

alnorth 07-09-2016 09:14 PM

5th round is a coin flip. I guess I have it 49-46, but I'm not confident. A lot of people who I respect disagree with my scoring.

edit: most people seem to be saying Aldo, but there's a large minority opinion for Edgar

Tough one to score. Aldo had the big shots but was back peddling a lot.

You aren't penalized for avoiding taking damage. See Mayweather.

SAUTO 07-09-2016 09:18 PM

Im a little shocked so many thought Frankie won that fight.

Buck 07-09-2016 09:19 PM

I'm torn because I don't want McGregor to lose again before he fights Aldo, but also I wanted Nate to demolish him. Wish McGregor Aldo 2 was happening first.

Thats how I was scoring. I follow John McCarthy on twitter, he trains judges, and over and over again in responses to questions, he's always emphasized that if one fighter is hurting the other fighter, nothing else matters, not volume, not aggression, not takedowns, if a fighter is landing big shots that is supposed to trump everything.

You are awarded points for aggression and octagon control which Frankie had. Again, this was like the Bendo decisions Frankie got.

Still tough one. Does a few big shots over ride a substantial volume deficit?
