Was it wrong to cheer Cassel getting hurt?
810 playing sound bite of Winston pissed off about it and defending Cassel.
Dude is pissed at fans cheering....calls it disgusting...... Says hes never seen fans cheer a guy getting hurt. |
Usually yeah, but I can understand because the fans wanted him out soooo bad and Romeo kepped trotting him out there to shit his pants time and time again.
|
Yes.
|
He hasn't been putting up with this shitty franchise for his entire life.
|
**** Winston. We can only hope that Cassel has permanent brain damage.
|
I don't care if anyone cheers for his "injury."
It wasn't serious. He was moving around, trying to sit up, but he was just out of it. Sad that that's what it takes to get Cassel off the field. |
The world cheered when Hitler committed suicide.
This is something similar....but I didnt cheer, even though part of me wanted to and I was disappointed when others did. |
If Cassel broke his neck or got seriously injured....
The Fans should hold their comments and cheer that he is not dead. If Cassel is faking an injury to save himself from embarrassment, or making a big deal over a sprained finger... yes you cheer and boo his ass off the field until he cry's. |

He hasnt been around long enough to understand the fans mentality and history of the franchise. Fans were cheering that change occured more than Cassel getting hurt. |
They weren't cheering that he got hurt, they were cheering for the fact that now, someone else will have a chance to play QB. And it is, it is very pathetic and sad that management has allowed the fan base to become this upset that it got to that point.
I'm sure no one in the stadium wished serious injury on Cassel. They just wanted someone else under center. |
If this franchise did the right thing and took out the garbage when it started to stink they wouldn't have fans cheering injuries.
|
Is Cassel pissed at his teammates that they played harder for Quinn than they did before he got hurt?
|
Arrowhead Pride @ArrowheadPride
Lilja said the original play call on that fumble was not the sneak. Cassel checked to it. |
I wasn't cheering Cassel getting hurt. I was cheering Quinn getting a chance....
|
The only person to blame is Pioli.
Oh and Q. |
I think a lot of people were probably just cheering that Quinn would get to come in. Someone would probably be far more disturbed reading posts on this board by people who want Cassel to die, etc. People go a little crazy about Cassel.
|
It's frustration. Not classy, just caught up in the moment. Winston can say what he wants, he gets paid to play , we pay to attend.
|
ill look at it as people cheering that Quinn got a chance rather then Cassel got hurt. I dont htink people really want to see Matt get hurt, just benched or even let go.
|
Yes it's wrong to cheer anyone getting hurt.
But I'm not going to sit here and say that I'm mad he came off of the field....because sadly injury is the ONLY way Cassel is going to be benched. He doesn't deserve to start. The players don't believe in him....that's OBVIOUS. |
As soon as Cassel went down the first thought in my mind was...
Great, now Pioli has an excuse to put him back in next week. I did NOT cheer. Then when Quinn grabbed a ball and went in... I secretly got happy. |
Not that there was a lot of time to notice this, but did anyone think the team stepped it up when Quinn came in? It seemed everyone (especially the WRs) put in more effort when Quinn was in, like they knew they had a shot at catching a well thrown ball.
|
The worst possible thing that can happen for this team would be for Cassel to get hurt and miss significant playing time. That would guarantee that Pioli would bring him back next year, just like one year ago.
I want Cassel to play until he plays his way onto the bench permanently. |

because he did not block |
Wrong to cheer an injury but I think they were cheering for a new QB not for the injury.

I cheered Cassel being ok and being able to walk off under his own power.
That's my story, and I'm sticking to it. :harumph: |

It is wrong to cheer anybody getting hurt. Absolutely. I got mad as hell when people booed Trent Green for toughing out playing after his concussion.
But this is a different situation. I admit that I clapped when I saw Quinn warming up. I thought Cassel was out for a few plays (but expected him to come back after a few plays). I hoped Quinn would finish the drive, score a TD, and then the QB controversy would finally begin. I became worried when Cassel looked like he wasn't moving and I stopped celebrating. I'm not proud of even cheering Cassel being out even just for a few series. But let's face it, this team has pushed us to really hate a likable guy who, in my opinion, doesn't even want to be put in this situation anymore. I don't hate Cassel as much as I do the guys up top who are pushing him onto all of us. |

Cheering an injury is wrong, period. If you want to cheer Quinn coming out then fine, but don't cheer an injury. I think there was a little of both.
|
Yes.
|
Pioli has driven us to this; it's all own our fraudulent GM.
|
I thought it was the Chiefs sideline that was cheering
|
Wrong? Kind of. But people were really just cheering because Cassel got pulled from the game, which should have happened three weeks ago. If that had happened, there wouldn't have been anything to cheer about.

If Pioli has driven you to something... you're just as psycho as he is. Sorry. People are losing their minds a bit I think.

Wanting Cassel benched is one thing, cheering when he gets hurt is another. Yes it was wrong, and extremely poor form.

I'm just glad Winston came out and talked about it instead of focusing on the team being 1-4. It's great when a player is more focused on the fans than results. Romeo has this team focused.

For the fans to have any hope for immediate or "quick" change, their voices will have to be heard. Banners, bags, etc. These are viable means of getting the message across. Overall, I actually agree with Winston's comments. Cheering an injured player is classless, but it's embarrassing from the organization's standpoint that it's been allowed to reach this point. |
|
Winston should be disgusted at how his QB is playing.
|
Who cares...the banner was awesome!!
Great job!

**** Winston. Quit ( like the rest of this sorry franchise) if you're that upset, you mope.
|
Winston can eat a bag of dicks.

Cheering an injury is wrong. But it was painfully clear that KC was not going to pull his ass unless he got injured. The injury was sweet, sweet relief from the putrid play we have been expected to remain loyal to dispite the world seeing otherwise.
To hell with this organization putting us in that position. |
I have no problem with Winston defending a teammate, but he should be more concerned about the shitty performance the fans spend their hard-earned money on.
|
I've been knocked out and didn't get payed 60mil for it. Winston needs to kick his diamond encrusted can down Beverly Hills if he wants sympathy for Cassel.
And Christ, Cassel was moving on the ground and walked off the field under his own power. That's usually a good sign that he'll pull through. It's not like it was a devastating hit like what RG3 took today. Again, why is he not outspoken about the people that have continued to stoke the fans' ire, Hunt, Pioli, RAC? |
Quote:

I think he is looking at it the wrong way, fans were cheering more for Quinn to play than Cassel being hurt
|
give me 60 million and you can boo me, knock me out, and use me as a cum rag for all i care
i am being paid 60 million and i am under a microscope for you to judge me and look at me however youd like based on my actions and performance at MY ****ING JOB. that's all it is. I dont pity any of these guys that get paid more in one week than I will in my lifetime. |
When oppressed peoples assert their agency the ruling party always sees that behavior as wrong.

Yeah, its wrong. But that isn't what happened. Fans were cheering Quinn coming in, not the injury. I'm sure there were a couple hundred dumbasses out there cheering his injury. Winston has thrown the entire fanbase under the bus with his comments.
|
hes FUSSTRATED

It was wrong to cheer openly. It was okay to be quietly happy as long as the injury is not serious.
I hope his injury is not serious -- just temporary enough to keep him out of the starting job for the rest of the season. Another point, we are not Philly fans by nature (who cheer their own injuries and jeer their own players). For good decent KC folks to jeer their coaching (and some to cheer Cassel's injury) just shows how bad it has been allowed to get by front office and coaching deafness. |
Yes, it was wrong and if it rallies these guys around Matt then more power to them all. He has not thrown any of them under a bus. He is still reportedly enjoying support within the team. Good for Winston to speak out and take on the fans regarding his feelings. I doubt he is alone in the frustration. I am astonished by the notion that cheering any injury, LET ALONE YOUR OWN PLAYER, is deemed as acceptable fan or civilized person behavior.
|
and of course the dumb bitch raider fan shows up....like a fly to shit

Not in Cassel's case it's not. He has immunity. Our only way to express our disgust with said immunity is to cheer for him to get hurt, since that's the only way he can get off of the field.
|
People cheer boxers getting knocked out all the time.

Nodody wants him to be hurt they just want him to not play on this team..............ever.

Completely embarrassing for fans to cheer Cassel's injury. Not surprising, but definitely embarrassing. Even Ravens players said as much. I don't see people knocking Charles about speaking up about it either, but he wasn't happy about the fans' reaction.

I watch everything KC does with apathy, so I guess Winston can be thankful for that.

Winston is right
|
I'm ready to be rid of him as much as anyone else, but it should not have been cheered.
