Taken: The Movie

Who's gonna see it? I don't know if it's just been shoved down my throat so much in the last couple of weeks or what, but I think this looks pretty compelling.

This is the first I've seen of it. Looks decent.

pr_capone 01-12-2009 12:48 AM

I've enjoyed most movies I have watch that Liam has been in.

I'll watch this one.

I've seen the commercial no less than 2 dozen times this weekend watching football. If it's gonna be an ass kicker, I'm in for sure.

Buehler445 01-12-2009 12:57 AM

I'm in. I posted about it in the Movies thread a while back. I like Neeson. It looks to be good. Hopefully it is laced with some mad passionate violence also.

Huh, I've watched every game and haven't seen a single one. Course I wasn't paying much attention either. Regardless, its got Liam Neeson, its got to be decent at least.

bowener 01-12-2009 01:01 AM

I have heard the premise is good. Supposedly based on real world events dealing with the international sex trades. I might have heard wrong, but I am sure any dad out there with a daughter is really going to like this movie (if good guy wins).

007 12-14-2009 02:34 PM

Just a great the second time too. Blu Ray unrated version.

kcmaxwell 12-15-2009 07:57 AM

I thought it was killer!!

Pants 12-15-2009 11:52 AM

I love good revenge stories. This movie kicked ass when I saw it.

"I have a certain skillset..."

Shiiiiiit.

kcxiv 12-15-2009 12:04 PM

This movie freaking rules, a little outrageous, but who cares. Liam Neeson killing everyone in his path.

When he told that Albanian guy, told you i would find you. One of the best scenes ever.

Dayze 12-15-2009 12:06 PM

it's a cool movie; cool plot etc.

Liam is cool; I didn't think he could pull it off, but he did.

I saw him on the Daily Show when the movie first came out and apparently he's a big "pugelist' (sp?) guy?...boxer etc.
he's a big MF too...isn't he like 6'5"?

Gotta agree with you here. I hadn't seen this movie since it was in theatres (I had the dvd screener about a month or so before the movie hit theatres mind you). That being said it was on HBO a couple nights ago as I was flipping through the channels and I figured since I hadn't seen it in about a year or so why not give it a go. Damn I almost had forgotten how kick ass this flick really was. Fricken love it. Probably one of my favorite movies of all of last year.

ZootedGranny 12-15-2009 01:03 PM

A bunch of ridiculous nonsense in this movie, but I love it.

The next time you watch it, check how many times his daughter is running. In almost every scene, she's sprinting.

And she looks goofy as hell when she runs

Mr. Flopnuts 12-15-2009 02:10 PM

This was a great, great movie. I thought Liam did a fantastic job.

Hell, every time he spoke to the enemy he had outstanding lines.

I will find you
I will kill you

Most badass director's name ever.

007 08-04-2012 04:36 AM

I really hate the music they used in that trailer. Annoying as hell.

Gonzo 08-04-2012 05:17 AM

Meh

Mr. Flopnuts 08-04-2012 05:19 AM

Loved the first one. Will watch the 2nd one.

They could have came up with a more clever title. Like: Take 'Em All or Lenny Taken or Taken 2: The Search For More Money.

Deberg_1990 10-05-2012 08:15 AM

Taken 2 out today. Anyone interested?

Buehler445 10-05-2012 09:38 AM

I'll see it but I may wait until the DVD. I'm goddamn busy and there is some other stuff I'd rather see.

durtyrute 10-05-2012 12:18 PM

This was the answer of the pop quiz today on 610

Bump 10-05-2012 12:25 PM

I thought the first one was bad ass. I will definitely see this, but I won't expect much.

That is definitely true, but making another just seems stupid.

OK, this is a funny synopsis..stole it from antoher site.

After rescuing his daughter from a sex slavery ring based out of Paris and dismantling it with bullets, the action moves to Istanbul. Neeson brings both his daughter and wife (Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen, both returning) on vacation to the very spot where that ring originated from, which makes him the all-time champion in Tempting Fate. Pop Quiz: you kill members of a mob; is that going to make the rest of them happy or sad? Maybe they should consider Branson, Mo. as a travel destination. Predictably, the head honcho of the Turkish mob wants them all dead, and now he's got to rescue two family members. Presumably for Taken 3, they'll throw in a nephew or a cousin or something.

Chiefs Pantalones 10-05-2012 07:13 PM

About to see it right now. Curious to see if Neeson has added to his particular set of skills...

LMAO Ironic that the guy who started this thread lives in Branson, MO.

Chiefs Pantalones 10-05-2012 09:21 PM

We liked it. Just as good as the first. Neeson owns.

That would be ****ing hilarious if he did.

Chiefs Pantalones 10-05-2012 09:40 PM

Lol no he doesn't.

Sure-Oz 10-06-2012 12:22 AM

I heard this movie was absolutely awful. Like the first one, but saw no reason to make another.

That said i'll Netflix it only

No, it really wouldn't.

Chiefs Pantalones 10-06-2012 03:07 AM

Lol don't take my movie reviews seriously both my wife and I are easily entertained. We thought it was good though. Some friends didn't.

Deberg_1990 10-06-2012 09:34 AM

Another thing that's confusing about these movies is...what age is his daughter supposed to be? I'm guessing 17 or 18 right? But Maggie Grace is almost 30.
