Albert not going anywhere.
No link. Just saw on NFLN Total Access. Albert will not be traded. Working on long term deal.
Repost? Bite me! |
Rapoport saying Chiefs are working on a long term deal with Albert.
Dolphins only offered a third for Albert not the #54 pick. |
Fisher
Albert Hudson Asamoah Allen/Stephenson/Schwartz Whoa, people. Edit: THAT oughtta put the whole "this year the Chiefs need to draft OL" to rest for the next couple of years. |
Thank God we draft an OT 1st overall then.

Yay! We drafted a RT #1 overall! PBJ PBJ PBJ

QB, WR, LT, front seven. No more of this right tackle or safety shit. |

Didn't ***** say he offered Albert more than the Chiefs can offer him now and he turned it down. I see these negotiations going far...
Unless, of course, he all of a sudden doesn't care about playing G or RT. Get some bad news on the back, Albert? |
This is going to sound asinine, but if we get Albert to a good enough deal, maybe we can deal Fisher at the end of the year for a 1st.
Shrug. |
If we can get Albert to move inside though, the first pick was worth it. Basically fixed the entire line with that pick. Fisher,Albert,Hudson,Asomoah,Stephenson with Schwartz and Allen being able to back up almost every single one of those spots. Good luck finding that talent/depth anywhere else in the league

A 1 YEAR RENTAL #1 OVERALL PICK!!! |
No way in hell we just spent 1.1 on a RT. If this report is true Albert will be playing RT or G.
|
Quote:
1. Pioli is a dick, and Albert wouldn't have been the first player to walk because of him. 2. Albert's now had the opportunity to negotiate with at least one other team, which might have helped him to figure out his real value. |

Next up, one of those inflatable bubbles for Alex Smith.
Christ, every move they make screams "we know he's not good enough." |

This front office just gets more ridiculous by the day. Could it be possible that this group is even worse than Pioli and Co?

Here's the question. Who would be the best LT for the Chiefs, Albert or fisher ?
If it's Fisher then Albert needs to just move to guard. If it's Albert then Fisher needs to be our RT and Fisher has stated that is not a problem. |

Well, I hope we keep him. He gave up 1 sack last year. He's arrived. I would've rather drafted Dion Jordan if QB was just not an option, but an ass kicking top rated line in the league isn't a bad thing. Jamaal Charles has more talent than Priest Holmes, and look at what Priest did. That will help Alex do what he does best, manage the game. LOL
|
Hope Albert likes playing RT or G.
I feel good about them being bookend tackles. |
Rapoport said expect the deal by the time mandatory mini camp comes up which is in a month.

nice! Now next year we can draft a center and the oline will almost be complete and then it's SUPERBOWL TIME!

Probably gonna need another RB to go with the other 4 too, after Davis breaks his ankle again. |

We need a RB in the 1st next year to run behind this behemoth of a line.
|

Guys relax Albert plays LT and Fisher plays RT. You get bookend tackles for 5+ years.
Plus Albert has proven he can play LT. |
Quote:
I think Fisher will be the long term LT. Might start off at RT though. Will be fun to watch. |
Fisher is the better run blocker...and nasty as ****....he is a RT.
Deal with it. |
They also mentioned that The Dolphins in trying to trade for Albert would only offer a 3rd rd pick. That was the dilema in the offer.

I don't care who lines up where, I just want to win games.
|
Albert staying is the best outcome from my perspective, because it means that the team actually got better as a result of the 1.1 pick, rather than just treading water by filling a created need.

And I just hope Kniles will work out. |
It will be awsome to keep Albert. Our line will be bad ass. So what if Fisher plays RT. He was still the best player.

Fisher is a better pass blocker than he is a run blocker dude. |

I do know this.. if Fisher is slated for a long term stint at RT than I hope we draft Taylor Lewan in the 1st next year just to piss you off! |

I like Albert staying, I really do. He is a homegrown Chief and an above average player.
However... The moment he starts sucking we move Fisher to LT, or make Albert play RT from the start. You do not take RT's first overall. Fisher will be at LT eventually. |
Quote:
The total talent on our our offensive line got better, which is better than 1 step back and 1 step forward. maybe after negotiating with Miami Albert realized that his market value wasn't as high as he originally thought |
Also have to wonder what Albert's feelings are now. He was put on the market and no team wanted him to play LT bad enough. His value apparently isn't very high if only 1 team truly wanted him and for only a 3rd round pick at that.
Chiefs have the power now. Albert isn't a commodity at the LT position and he's now forced to go to camp to fight for his position. He doesn't like it? Fine. Hold out and lose a t on of money. |

Perfect fit for RT! |

So we move Albert to guard and draft Jake Matthews next year.

God damnit I wish we would have drafted Barret Jones...guys gonna be a great center in this league....plus he plays every other position on the line.
Albert Schwartz Jones Hudson (put him back at G where he was an AA in college for 2-3 yrs) Fisher |
I'm glad he's staying. I still think if they'd have negotiated in earnest he could have been locked up before now. I think both sides have had to swallow a bit of pride in this deal.
|
I'd be delighted to have him remain a Chief. This whole thing was just a tiff and we're one big family.
|
Well I'm kind of glad we turned down that third for Albert. Then we took the best player on our draft board.
What else do you want them to do? |
We have some depth on this line now, with actual decent players in the backup spots. Players can be moved interchangeably if anyone gets injured. I like.

Kudos to Dorsey for not caving in and accepting their crappy trade offer. A third round pick for Albert would have been ridiculous. |
I must say I'm shocked about this. I don't know if this is a positive PR stunt, trying to make nice with Albert for a year or if they really want him longterm, but I can't envision them ever paying his asking price on a multi-year deal.
