It looks like Faith is just a little ticked......

I am sure that her comments were not in synch with her reaction....

Amnorix 11-07-2006 10:30 AM

I must say that I think Faith Hill has it all over Carrie Underwood, but Hill's reaction is ridiculous.

(ducking from GoChiefs blast in response)

Yep.

Damn those rich beautiful bitches.....

Bob Dole 11-07-2006 10:54 AM

The denials make it even funnier. She should run for office.

Quote:

"The idea that I would act disrespectful towards a fellow musician is unimaginable to me," Hill said in a statement. "For this to become a focus of attention given the talent gathered is utterly ridiculous. Carrie is a talented and deserving Female Vocalist of The Year."

Media outlets and blogs zeroed in on Hill‘s reaction after Underwood‘s name was announced at the ceremony. While other nominees — Sara Evans , Gretchen Wilson , Martina McBride — gave the typical gracious loser smile, Hill, who was standing backstage, turned to the camera and shouted "WHAT?"

However, Hill said it was all a joke, and her manager, Gary Borman, echoed that: "I‘ve worked with Faith for many years now and the idea that she would ever insult or undermine another artist, let alone another human being‘s success is absolutely preposterous. Those who know her know that she‘s incapable of such actions," he said in a statement.

Underwood, the 2005 "American Idol" champ, has become a triple platinum success since releasing her debut album late last year. Hill is a longtime darling of country music with crossover pop appeal.

kcxiv 11-07-2006 11:08 AM

a reaction like that isnt a joke, they can try to play it off all they want though, Video doesnt lie.

Tribal Warfare 11-07-2006 11:32 AM

Faith Hill got PWWWWWWNED

DMAC 11-07-2006 11:44 AM

Funny stuff.

It is even worse that she had to blatenly lie about her reaction.

Why don't you just say something like..."I was shocked, I thought I had it in the bag"?

The comment is worse than the reaction.

Eleazar 11-07-2006 11:45 AM

Like Underwood is more talented. She won a game show. She's the $.25 cent prize out of the Super Toy-N-Joy machine in the doorway of the supermarket.

Underwood definately has talent. She lacked in the looks department but they fixed that right up. She looks about 5 bizzillion times better than she did starting out on Idol. You would have to be gay to not want to hit that now.

Radar Chief 11-07-2006 11:48 AM

And we all even know a gay man that wants to hit that.

Well...maybe not "hit"...maybe just talk to, or go shopping (food court) with.

Sam Hall 11-07-2006 11:59 AM

This is another example of why PR is an absolute joke. You don't lose your mind like she did, and then say you were trying to be funny. The damage control didn't work this time.

dirk digler 11-07-2006 12:04 PM

I wonder if gochiefs is jealous that Anthony Federov was with Carrie tonight?

Sam Hall 11-07-2006 12:09 PM

I used to think Faith Hill was really hot. She needs to remove that makeup before her face cracks and falls off. I think she freaked out because she knows younger people are catching up. She doesn't have many more chances to win that kind of award.

Maybe she should hire Carrie Underwood's plastic surgeon. Better yet Demi Moore's. She has enough money to do it about 1000 times over. I think she can win anyway but lets get real, looks help. Frankly with all of Carrie's popularity this year and screen time I am surprised she didn't get performer of the year.

Frosty 11-07-2006 12:23 PM

Right or wrong from a PR standpoint, Faith had the correct reaction. Carrie Underwood is to country what Vanilla Ice was to rap. Manufactured crap. :shake:

SCTrojan 11-07-2006 12:34 PM

Perhaps it was a botched joke.

God I can't believe I am defending this chick. You will see Carrie for years to come. Vanilla Ice was already in and out of style in the time Carrie has been on the scene. Right now she has a bigger following than 100 Vanilla Ice's. That was kind of a silly statement.

YOu gotta respect that. LMAO

I'm in the wrong business I should have been a promoter.

Frankie 11-07-2006 12:43 PM

Side note: Looks here like Underwood is dating Anthony Fedorov from the same season 4 of American Idol.

I would agree, though I think it was the other way around - Tim McGraw slept his way to the top - coattailling on Hill.

Of the choices, I would probably pick Sara Evans or Gretchen Wilson. None of the choices are that great, though.

ChiefsCountry 11-07-2006 12:46 PM

Carrie Underwood deserved it more than Faith Hill this past year. All of her songs were huge hits.

I meant flavor of the month. She may be big now, but she doesn't have that much talent, IMO. Popular country is swinging back to a more traditional, harder edge, which will leave her behind. She may successfully transition over to a pop sound and hang around a little longer.

I think she will be around for some time to come. Her last video convinced me of that.

So, if she sang and sounded exactly like she does now, but weighed 200 pounds, do you still think she would deserve the award and be around for a while?

Carrie Underwood will be around for awhile. She is hardly "pop" country. Go to one of her concerts and you will be impressed. She does some great older country stuff in her set plus one hell of job on Guns N Roses Patience.

Hammock Parties 11-07-2006 01:10 PM

GO CARRIE!! She is a good girl. I am happy for her.

As for Carrie's looks, I actually liked the way she looked better during her Idol run. She's too skinny now. Damn hollywood. I want my squeezably soft Carrie Underwood back, dammit!!!

Any pig is going to have a hard time pulling that award and remaining popular. IF she looked normal like say she did when she came out I still think she would have a good following and a career, just not as good as she will have looking like that. That being said it will still be hard to stay popular but I think she has the talent, flexibility, looks and following to pull it off but it will still take a lot of work.

AF was one of her rivals in the season 4 of American Idol. I'm almost a 100% sure it's him on in that video.

NOT,

Underwood will never match that.

I should just stay out of this. I don't know who any of them are, but there are some fine ladies singing that stuff.
