Would you trade Flowers next year?
For a 2nd round pick? We've seen the defense play just as good if not better without him.
If Cooper continues to play like he has been you have him on a 4 year 7th round pick deal. You have to pay Justin Houston. I wouldn't be surprised to see Charles hold out given the way he's being used and his current bargain contract. IIRC Berrys contract will be up in a few years too. The defense is set the offense needs a lot of improvement obviously. An extra pick would help. I would make that trade. |
Nope.

Yes, next year will be a rebuilding year.

I'd trade you for a bag of hog jizz.

No. You don't go trading away prototypical cover corners in their prime. When healthy, hes at worst a top 10 corner. |

Houston will need a lot of money so he's going to be a big hit starting very soon. You'd have to imagine that they'll want to lock Smith up as well (barf!). Hali is taking up a shit ton of space; maybe we could restructure somehow to bring his hit down. |

You can restructure guys, naturally let guys leave, Dunta for sure wont be back, they don't have max draft picks to worry about signing. I believe that Chase Daniel will be gone next year, which will open up another three mil. They should get Albert signed to a longer deal that will be more cap friendly with more guaranteed money. And, furthermore, its WAY too early to be talking about NEXT SEASON. This isn't Cleveland for Christ's sakes. |

First we bitch that we let Carr go for 50MM. Then after we find a 7th round gem we are willing to trade Flowers. WTF?
|
It's a quarterback's league. When you have guys that can stop quarterbacks, you keep them.

Anyway I disagree with you. Sure Flowers is a top 20 corner but a pass rush always trumps a secondary. We already have that. You can always find Tracy Porters of thr world to fill in for a couplenof yeara and do a decent job. This offense has a lot of holes. The interior line needs to be addressed, the tight end position, WR's, and you need to develop a QB. |

Dunta Robinson is 3.3 mill and Chase Daniel is 1.4 mill in cap savings.

Quote:
nope he should stay for 2 more years unless we get a 1st or third still close to the top of the pass rush game |

I'm saying if you have cap issues and can get a high pick for a corner you do it. |

I would be interested in seeing the Jets defensive stats this year compared to when they had Revis. I feel as though my theory might be right.

and I think carr was bettwer than flowers, but I love flowers |

There's is NO way Flowers will be traded. We've seen them play well without him for a short time. You can do that sometimes. But over time it would kill us. No way to trading him
|
Hell no, you crazy?

And that's saying something because guys like DJ, HOUSTON, POE, DEVITO, BERRY, have been playing their best ball of their careers. Hali is that important to this team. |

You don't give that up I don't believe. Especially when you have wes welker in your division. |

I mean, from what I have seen, and I have watched every single down of every single Chiefs game this year, he has been completely unblockable one on one. And he is always coming from the left tackle side, which is also very impressive. |

No way Dorsey pulls a Pioli;)

Not a chance in hell...
Tryin to think of a guy that gets consistently disrespected more and dismissed more on the Chiefs than Flowers. He's easily a top 10 CB in the NFL and those just don't grow on trees and you don't trade them away. |
Not to mention he's a leader, team player, restructured his deal and helped out, and seems to genuinely love the city and fans.
YUP TRADE HIM.... |
Hell no!

Have you ever noticed after each reception Flowers looks behind him every time like it wasn't his fault, he was expecting help or it was a push off, LOL. |

At the very least he could play safety or inside if he has lost the CB job

I think some people are jumping the gun with Cooper. Sure, he's played wonderful... In three games. Flowers has consistently been top five to ten most of his career
|
I'm not trading him and I don't think Dorsey would either after he had him restructure last year.
Extending Berry would save a good amount of coin moving forward. Chase and Dunta will be gone. I'll worry about this come March though. I don't think there's a chance Tamba or Flowers goes anywhere. |
You never go full billay.

Flowers owned Jackson in Philly on a short week and on one knee

Any info on if KC is going after Nicks or Gordon? Jeff Chadhia confirmed that they're trying for TG |
I'd say no at this point. Same question this time next year....perhaps.
|
No that would be dumb and just randomly suggesting Charles is going to hold out as a lame attempt to justify the stupid idea is just as or even dumber.
|
So far I've seen nothing in Dorsey's drafting ability to make me value picks over players.
|
I'd trade him for a second in a heartbeat. He's an undersized CB with leg injury issues.

Why do chiefs fans start thread about trading high quality players every season?

Quote:
It's a 10 yard gain if Demps isn't clear out of position. Cooper allowed the catch but Demps is largely responsible for the TD. |
LOL billay is dumb.
|
Teams are finding they need at least three or more CBs capable of playing. The fact that we have Berry who can play multiple positions is a bonus. We have other ways of saving the money we need.

No.

In 2011 Flowers signed a 6yr, ~$50 million contract with $22mill guaranteed.
In 2013 he restructured $4million salary into a signing bonus that would be spread out over 4yrs (i.e. helped the team save $3 mill against this yrs cap). If the chiefs trade Flowers, than the chiefs would still have at least $6 million against the cap (likely all in 2014 because it would accelerate). So for example, If Flowers is a chief in 2014 he would count $7.25 million against the cap. If the chiefs traded flowers, than he would still count at least $6 million against the cap. It doesnt seem trading flowers is worth it since the team hasnt consistently shown it can draft well. Team would be trading a sure thing for, at best, a 50/50 prospect. |

I don't think we could get a second round pick for him, but I'd gladly take it if offered. Getting seven good years out of a second round pick and then getting your pick back is a huge win. |

This place melted down when we didn't pay Carr $50MM and now people are suggesting to trade Flowers because a late round draft pick cut by another team has had 3 solid games.
LMAO |
Not with Denver in the division.

When a player is traded the original team is on the hook for the signing bonus (since it was paid at the time the contract is signed), but the new team is on the hook for other, not yet paid, guaranteed money (i.e. not paid guaranteed salary, workout bonuses, etc). Chiefs are still on the hook for signing bonus money regardless. Quote:

I think we should free up some cap space by making Eric Fisher drink antifreeze

I love Flo.
That said, yes I would trade him for a 2nd next year... He isn't getting any younger or faster and I feel he is constantly getting dinged up. A (high) 2nd would be a good deal. |

He wouldn't garner a 2nd round pick in return. He's not that valuable.
