Colt Brennan is amazing.

Yeah, he is. He just lead Hawaii on a huge comeback, they were down 21-0. It is now 28-28.

Coach 12-02-2007 01:51 AM

That throw was right on the money. Hit the receiver in stride, at the right spot before the receiver went out of bounds, yet the defensive player has no chance of reaching it.

Ari ümlaüt 12-02-2007 01:52 AM

I would love to see this guy in Red and Gold.

kcxiv 12-02-2007 01:52 AM

That pass was beautiful.

Coach 12-02-2007 01:52 AM

But, I must say that the officials did miss a blantant hold on the LT during that throw.

HolmeZz 12-02-2007 01:52 AM

He's amazingly not going to be anything at the next level.

Bugeater 12-02-2007 01:53 AM

Nothing like watching live football at 2am.

I have seen quite a few of his games now. I think he's going to be pretty damned good.

Ari ümlaüt 12-02-2007 01:55 AM

Actually, I might most prefer, Phil Loadholt LT from OU. 6'8 350+ Chiefs need a LT. He is awesome.

kcxiv 12-02-2007 01:57 AM

Their Linebacker Soares seems like a damned good one as well.

Then you're going to be disappointed. He plays in a gimmick offense that a 2 year old could make reads on. Going from that to an actual NFL style offense is more than night and day. The jump is unquantifiable.

More NFL teams are going to that wide open offense though. Colts do it quite a bit and Brady does it alot as well. This seems to be the way the NFL is going .

He didn't look particularly hot tonight. Maybe in the 2nd round if he comes out. Nowhere near worth taking with our 1st rounder.

Mr. Flopnuts 12-02-2007 02:00 AM

WASHINGTON JUST GOT ****ED ON THAT ILLEGAL FORWARD PASS. **** YOU REFS.

Coach 12-02-2007 02:03 AM

Hawaii getting some home-cooking

that was today. this is his first year in Oklahoma's system. I believe a JuCo transfer... He is Jonathan Ogden-esque sizewise. He will stay senior year, and be a top 10 pick.

No. Only the Pats run a predominantly open pass offense, and they only did it once they acquired Randy Moss. They're also able to pull it off because they have an all-time great QB and a terrific o-line.

There's nothing similar to what the Patriots do and what Hawaii does. The Patriots run actual plays, usually in 3 receiver sets. Hawaii has their own receivers run different routes according to the coverage being played at the line. It's a gimmick offense and requires very little skill at all when it comes to reading a defense. It's all just quick reads.

Brennan wouldn't know the first thing about reading a defense from under center and you can only imagine how ineffective he'd be when he'd only have two receivers in a route.

kcxiv 12-02-2007 02:09 AM

Well, we will find out in due time.

kcxiv 12-02-2007 02:10 AM

TD number 5 for Colt.

Coach 12-02-2007 02:10 AM

Clutch.

Mr. Flopnuts 12-02-2007 02:11 AM

That call is going to cost UW this game. I understand, put yourself in a position to not be affected. UW had plenty of chances, but they are a young football team, that is trying to refind lost glory. It just got stolen from them. Winning this game would've went A LONG way to helping them in recruiting. Bullshit.

Buck 12-02-2007 02:11 AM

Hawaii, 0 losses?

They deserve to be in the National Championship Game. They are way better than USC.

Mr. Flopnuts 12-02-2007 02:12 AM

What a horrible ****ing night for football.

kcxiv 12-02-2007 02:13 AM

Great defense.

Ari ümlaüt 12-02-2007 02:14 AM

holy shit

Coach 12-02-2007 02:14 AM

Jesus, what the hell is that defense?

HolmeZz 12-02-2007 02:14 AM

Locker should've thrown it away. Silly.

Important game or not, this one has been exciting.

kcxiv 12-02-2007 02:15 AM

The Nickel blitzed left the CB 1 on 1 and got beat.

Imon Yourside 12-02-2007 02:15 AM

Washington deserves this...ahhh well didn't work out. That call that stopped Washingtons drive last time was total bs.

Mr. Flopnuts 12-02-2007 02:16 AM

Come on mother****er, 1 TIME.

kcxiv 12-02-2007 02:16 AM

haha, wow.

Ari ümlaüt 12-02-2007 02:16 AM

kick ass. what an ending.

Mr. Flopnuts 12-02-2007 02:16 AM

Goddammit.

Coach 12-02-2007 02:16 AM

Intercepted!

Ball game!

Buck 12-02-2007 02:16 AM

Colt's Prayer worked!

Imon Yourside 12-02-2007 02:18 AM

Hawaii doesn't deserve jack shit, 2 toughest teams were played at home. Washington got jobbed on that pass called past the Los.

Mr. Flopnuts 12-02-2007 02:19 AM

Washington did everything that they could to overcome that bullshit at the end of the game. Shit happens, I'm proud of those boys and look forward to watching them get better next year.

Yep. They proved tonight that they aren't very good. Washington is in 8th or 9th place in the Pac 10. Come on, they had them beat. HI would be an embarrassment in the national title game.

Ari ümlaüt 12-02-2007 02:20 AM

im glad I stayed up to watch this, it was very entertaining.

kcxiv 12-02-2007 02:20 AM

Up 21-0 though and to lose it like that. That call may have been iffy, but shit like that happens. You just cant blame the game on that call alone. They shouldnt have came back like that.

If it was aganist Ohio State, it would be a embarrasment all right, for Ohio State that is.

Like I said Washington isn't that good. That call though, at that point in the game, with the momentum like that? It cost them the game. Period. Whether it shouldn't have or whatever doesn't matter. It did. It was a bad call.

kcxiv 12-02-2007 02:23 AM

Bad calls happen all the time. Us Chiefs fans should be used of it. We get hosed more times then not.

Mecca 12-02-2007 02:23 AM

Hey now, in a year where everyone lost to joke and jobber teams give Hawaii credit for actually beating theirs.

Washington played good defense in the 1st quarter of this game. Again in the 3rd. Ohio State has a better defense, they proved it when they beat Washington earlier this year. Ohio State would destroy HI. It wouldn't even be close.

I'm with you. UW is my team, so I was a little upset when this game ended. It was actually a horrible football night for me. Mizzou lost the conference championship and a shot at the National title, UW was killing HI and gave it away, and then the local high school team lost the state championship for the second year in a row at the last second. Oh well, it happens. HI ran the gambit and deserves everything it's getting. Kudos for finding a will to win this game. It was well deserved.

Kraut 12-02-2007 05:32 AM

He may not do anything at the next level, but he needs to be recognized on the college level for sure. This kid is amazing!!!

Spott 12-02-2007 05:36 AM

Damn, I missed this game. It was 28-7 when I turned it off.

If he could develop some concentration and not get called for so many false starts, he could be a good player.

CupidStunt 12-02-2007 07:49 AM

He's awful.

Hawaii got robbed on a couple of calls too. That's the way football goes.

12-0 ;) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

I never gave up when they were down 21. UH can score fast.

I don't get the hatred for Hawaii.

How is releasing the ball past the line of scrimmage legal?

Sure, if you pause the replay at the BEGINNING of his motion, it looks like he wasn't past the LOS, but...

It looked to me like he was over the line of scrimmage. He stepped over the line as he threw, before the ball was released.

Ultra Peanut 12-02-2007 11:24 AM

It looked that way to me in live action and on all of the replays. I still don't understand the bitching about it.
