Who has been our best player on D this season?
 

Just wondered what everyone thought. I really have liked the play of Pollard. He has put some nice thumps on players this year and he seems to be playing smarter. DJ? I really just keep waiting for him to explode and be the great player I watched in college... Turk has flashed and he has a great motor. Tamba... wished the would have left him alone and not moved him after Allen left. Dorsey is holding his own and think he will get great with some weight room time. The corners have been studs. So it sure looks like the future is bright! Go Chiefs!

Someone has to be the corn that stands out in the turd.

I'm not sold on Carr yet. I mean, I know they throw at him because Flowers has been awesome, and it's pretty obvious that even if you throw at good corners, they're going to give up passes (Dre Bly was thrown at constantly when Bailey was still there, and he gave up lots of yards, even though he's not a bad corner). I just have seen him get consistently beat... I know they've been good receivers, but I still would like to see him cover a little better....

Babin might already be the best player on this defense.

Obviously, it would have to be someone from the secondary since our linemen have been so ineffective and our linebackers are world-class garbage. Overall, I would say Flowers has been our best defensive player; he covers, he hits and he is a ball-hawk.

Why is anyone mentioning Hali in answer to this question? What has Hali done all season to merit any kind of praise?

I'm surprised there's so much love for DJ. He makes some big plays and has been real good in coverage, but he's really frequently out of position, he misses way too many tackles, and on run plays is way too often sucked up in a block.

I still think DJ is a classic example of a talented player who is severely underachieving in this defense.
