Do you have a will?

Do you have a will or trust or whatever, to figure out what happens to your stuff when you die?

And who knows about it? Who can find it?

I have a will, but if my wife and I get eaten by pygmy headhunter cannibals I have no idea how my extended family would find or know about my will. What do others do to protect against the pygmy headhunter cannibal scenario?

Sucky 08-15-2012 01:29 PM

no

MagicHef 08-15-2012 01:32 PM

Nope. I've always assumed my wife would get everything. If she died too, my kids would get it all. If we all died, I wouldn't really care what happens to my stuff.

Yeah but it needs to be updated. It was put together when I was 21 and had just joined the Air Force.

Thats where you have to have a power of attorney that handles matters when the pygmies strike, and they should know where things are kept, have access to your safety deposit box, etc.

BoneKrusher 08-15-2012 01:34 PM

No, i have a way

Graystoke 08-15-2012 01:34 PM

I change my Will daily depending on whom I am pissed at that day...its just how I roll.

But how does your attorney know about the pygmy attack? That's what I can't figure out.

You're looking particularly handsome today.

This is not true. If you font have a power of attorney & will the state has to decide upon your belongings, $, etc.

DaneMcCloud 08-15-2012 01:36 PM

We've had a Living Trust since 2008. It was the most brutal 16 hours ever, going through all of the scenarios, paperwork, etc. with the lawyers. But, I sleep better at night knowing that everything's in place.

Munson 08-15-2012 01:36 PM

No. I don't really have a need for one yet.

Power of attorney. Not necessarily AN attorney. Hopefully it would be someone close enough to you that they would find out about the pygmy attack somehow. And kill them.

Oh.

I don't live near any kinfolk. I'm imagining them coming into the house after a violent pygmy attack, and they'd never be able to find the paperwork, even assuming that it's not covered in blood.

I guess I could e-mail it to someone, but then it's not very private. Maybe I should just have a big cardboard sign in the top of my filing cabinet that says, "In the event of pygmy attack, contact this attorney: xxxxxx".

I'm leaving everything to the wife. It'll all go to my kids if she marries someone that they determine is a douchebag. If so, she gets shit, they get it all, but only if they go to college. Whatever dog I own at the time gets all the meat in the freezer at the time of my death.

Definitely should have someone you know know where these things are kept. At least keep a piece of paper in your wallet for an emergency contact.
