Chiefs RG Jon Asamoah, WR Jon Baldwin Ruled Out Sunday
Kansas City Chiefs RG Jon Asamoah has been ruled out Sunday for the game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
This means that Russ Hochstein will start in his place at right guard. Hochstein was picked up earlier this season and hasn’t got much playing time. The Chiefs also reported that Jon Baldwin would be out. This likely means that Steve Breaston will be active this week. I think Breaston could be good if he got some playing time and if Matt Cassel trusts him. Jake O’Connell has also been ruled out, but I don’t think this is very significant because he doesn’t see much playing time as it is. Do you think this will affect the Chiefs’ blocking this Sunday? |

What is wrong with Asamoah?
That Cincy DL is gonna rape Cassel's face. |
Steve Breastons 6 catches all year will be the difference this week

Breaston should tweak his hammy tomorrow. No point risking an injury for a team that has disrespected you because the old coach brought you in.

Well shit...

Russ played a few snaps last week. Didn't think he looked that bad for a career back up and guy who just joined the team mid season. With that said, Geno Atkins will duck his world on Sunday. Can't wait. Cassel might die....

Clark: "The black out is because fans are frustrated that the Chiefs are losing, and we're losing games like this because we don't have all our pieces."

Damn auto correct.

If it Baldwin's injury recovery is as fast as his start off the line it will be awhile.

Since we don't have one, he looks like overrated garbage. |

Playing Breaston is an upgrade over Baldwin.
|
The hits to Baldwin, Quinn and Cassel this year that led to concussions really haven't looked that bad. Either it's worse than it seems on TV or Pioli bought discount helmets to save a couple of bucks.

What does Breaston have to do on Sunday to fill Baldwin's shoes? What? 1 catch for 14 yards?.. I'd say that's about right. |
That Jon Baldwin has been one hell of a 1st RD pick....

How is a OG not playing in a game due to a thumb injury?!? Steve DeBerg played QB with a crushed pinkie!
pussies. |

who cares. rule everyone out. have rockhurst highschool play the bengals instead. prolly be a closer game
|
OH NO JAKE THE BONECRUSHER OCONNELL IS OUT?!?!? WHATRE WE GONNA DO????
|
I think this team could still win a lot of games. We signed Kevni Boss and Peyton Hills so all they have to do is show up like in 2010 and then teams won't be able to cover evreyone

I sense a trend. |

That's gonna get it done, all right. Kevin Boss and Peyton Hillis are gonna get this thing turned around... |

Wow, didn't know Baldwin was still on the team until I saw a player get hurt against the Steelers and the anouncers said his name...:hmmm:
I'm betting he won't be missed... |
4 years of pioli and our WR core is worse than ever
Baldwin = worthless mccluster = clown breaston = benched moeaki = ghost |
Outstanding.
A terrible rookie LG and a brokedick veteran RG should go along way towards ****ing our shit up. |

 We should take every fluff piece written about Baldwin, roll them up and jam them straight up the propaganda spewing media's ass. |
We suck again...

At least it could be worse, your wife could have dragged you to watch the new Twilight movie...

Bowe = extremely productive from the start with garbage QBs, and fans consistently whip shit on him.
Baldwin = no production in the regular season and fans fluff(ed) him repeatedly. Embarrassing. |

I usually agree with most everybody when it comes to how bad certain players are playing..But I'm going to disagree on Baldwin.
I think he is a good player, but has not been developed correctly...of course how can anybody be developed correctly under this screwd up management. |

...he's a big target, but he either runs crappy routes,(ie separation) or is just going through the motions. |
Quote:
Yes. It's all Bowe's fault. Not the shitty 9 QBs that he's caught passes from. |
Adam Teicher @adamteicher
Albert, Allen, Hochstein Winston, Stephenson. that's right, Winston at right guard |

Even with horrible QB's and revolving OC's etc, Bowe, Breaston, Moeaki and McCluster were all able to be put into the game plan and get the ball thrown their way over the last few years. For some reason Baldwin hasn't, and that reason isn't solely the QB. |

Ryan Lilja is on the exercise bike at chiefs practice so he will obviously be added to their injury list. |
Cassel is going to have to file rape charges after this game.

Scary as this sounds, but he played better with that horrible line year 1 than he does today. Think about THAT...... |
Talk about a patchwork line, mother of pearl.
Hochstein was at home until failoi called him because no one else wanted his career journeyman ass. |

I think Monday night was the first time I recall Cassel going to his second read since he has been a Chief. I for one still believe in Baldwin and would love to see him get a chance with a legit QB, or even a mediocre QB similar to Orton. |

Moeaki is averaging less than two catches per game, look out Tony G! In 2010, we all know that the running game of Jamaal Charles made the short passing game work. I am not sure Breaston has even been active yet this season, has he? **edit** silly me, he has been active for 8 games, and has 6 catches out of 12 targets. 50%, there is some fail there somewhere, but it is not Baldwin. Yeah, it is all Baldwin's fault. ROFL We are talking about the 2012 Matt Cassel right, the one that Baldwin has been trying to play with? |
Quote:
The fact is that in other years guys like Breaston and Moeaki (when he wasn't injured as a rookie) could get open and catch the ball, something Baldwin hasn't been able to do. |
Quote:
 |
Quote:
Baldwin is actually a little over 50%, and both of those guys are exactly 50%. Baldwin is trying to play with the 2012 version of Matt Cassel, and he is out performing both of those guys with the same QB. In 2010, we all know why Cassel was "statistically" successful, and his name was Jamaal Charles. |
Baldwin is worth keeping for now, no doubt about it imo.
Most wr's take 2-3 years to become an efficient machine, throw in the fact that he's on a team in stage 9 meltdown... yeah, i've seen enough flash to want to see what more there is on a stable team. |

He has straight line speed (4.4, not even elite speed) and elite jumping ability. That's it. Other receivers have had plenty of success with Cassel throwing. Bowe, Breaston, Chris Chambers for a few games in 2009, Wes Welker and Randy Moss in New England. Tony Moeaki was very good as a rookie. Baldwin is a bust. He's Mike Williams II. A big guy with some speed who can't get open against NFL DBs. It says a lot about what the Chiefs think about his abilities that he hasn't received a single jump ball in the red zone this year. He's just not very good. Scott Pioli has this bugaboo about drafting physical specimens. He falls in love with height/weight. That's why he picked Baldwin. That's why he picked Tyson Jackson. That's why he picked Dontari Poe. Baldwin is not a bust yet. But next year, when he has about 15 catches after Week 8, he will be. |

Baldwin is 111th in yards per pass route run.
That's a pretty bad stat when you have 193 pass snaps. |
