Oscar winner Nicolas Cage is currently in talks to star in the Left Behind reboot, based on the best-selling books and movie series about the biblical end of days.

The writer and producer of the original films, Paul Lalonde, and John Patus, who worked on the novel series' final entry Left Behind: World at War, have collaborated on a screenplay and are hoping to turn it into a feature film with an estimated $15 million budget, says The Hollywood Reporter. Legendary stunt man Vic Armstrong will direct.

Is it wrong that "left behind" makes me think of an ass cheek?

Deberg_1990 10-22-2012 03:34 PM

He's no Kirk Cameron

Easy 6 10-22-2012 03:56 PM

Its a shame whats happened to him, he was one of the top 5 or so most respected leading men around for several years, one of the new kings of method acting.

Now he's in one piece of crap after another, sad.

CoMoChief 10-22-2012 04:25 PM

Sure-Oz 10-22-2012 05:14 PM

The guy was buying private islands, Castles in germany and england, etc.. at one point he had a fleet of Rolls Royces (20+).

He just throws money out the window.

Now he's had all sorts of foreclosures on his real-estate investments, is being sued by multiple people, and the IRS is after him for millions of dollars as well.

Not to mention he was arrested recently.

The guy is a mess financially... Even though he still makes like 20+ mil a year. He just cant get out of his own way when it comes to frivolous purchases.

He's lived an extremely lavish lifestyle. He's had a few marriages (a really strange marriage to Arquette in which they didn't even share a house for like 10 years) and he's blown all his money while failing to pay taxes.

Molitoth 10-23-2012 04:24 PM

I dunno, he's just never been an actor that really got on my nerves.
I was a sucker for the Nation Treasure movies.
Gone in 60 sec was okay at the time.
Leaving Las Vegas he was excellent in.
and there was that one where he could predict the future which wasn't bad.

but that's all I know.

CoMoChief 10-23-2012 04:27 PM

I only enjoyed The Rock and Con-Air.....and it wasn't because of Cage.

Cage used to be a really solid respected actor and i guess still is a good actor, but makes too much junk for money now days.

The stuff he did back in the 80s and mid 90s when he won his oscar was really great. Before he went through his bankable superstar phase.

L.A. Chieffan 10-24-2012 09:56 AM

I forgot how awesome Bad Lt. was

Bump 10-24-2012 12:10 PM

I wonder how much money he has. I bet he still gets a ton of money for every crap movie.

Fansy the Famous Bard 10-24-2012 01:58 PM

I guess when you earn money like this, you feel you can do whatever you want with it.
