Can Dwayne Bowe separate????
Nfldraftcountdown just kills him about lack of separation.
How good is he at it????????? |
Guess we'll find out!!!!!!!!
|
|
Hell yes he can. He's excellent at finding holes in defenses and is an incredibly fluid route runner.
He'll get open. |
He'll separate the shoulder of anyone who grills up on him.
|
The rap on DeMarcus Russell was that in college, all his recievers were running free and he wouldn't have such open receivers in the pros.
|
Sorry if it's stupid question but all Herm said was that he could make tough catches and he was physical and a good blocker; Made him sound like tight end, nothing I could remember about him separating. He did also say he ran good routes.

"Russell and Bowe worked out together at LSU's Pro Day. It was an interesting sight. Bowe, who is built like he just skied down Mount Olympus to chuckle at us mortals, worked out shirtless and in tights. The fluffier Russell wore a pup tent." |
no, he can't seperate

The Broncos aren't supposed to draft defensive lineman. They are supposed to get them from the Browns. ROFL |
I want to see Bowe separate someone's jaw. Special receiving teams should put Dwayne and Kolby 2-Deep for catching the ball, and form the cross-over wedge for a blocking scheme. Getting the ball over our 35 yd line and putting the hurt on tacklers sets a decent tone. What's wrong with headhunting the headhunters?
|
Kolby might make a great special teams blocker, yeah. Good point.
|
Once he gets those millions he will be separating some Kansas City legs.
|
He's certainly big enough to push off successfully if the refs apply the Randy Moss Rule...
Of course, he plays for the Chiefs, so what are the odds of that happening? |

Bowe is going to raise LJ's YPC by 10.
|
You mean like "lift and separate"?

Yeah I have done quite a bit of research on him and he definetely can, he fits our scheme perfectly, I bet he puts up good numbers next year, he is really solid, and so physical. My draft magazine has him as the best blocking WR in the draft, and I have read a bit about the corrective surgery he had on his eyes and it helped out his drops a lot. He ran a 4.40 in the combine so he can be quick too, he will take so much heat off Tony Gonzalez, I think Parker if he doesnt step up he is gone for sure maybe even in camp who knows.
|
I'm guessing this thread will be bumped during the regular season.
|
FWIW, Gonzo usually has 2 guys hanging on him and is the most potent recieving threat on our team. If he were a WR, not only would there be pass interference flags thrown, but it would also be called zero separation.
Bowe isn't quite as big as Gonzo, but he looks every bit as strong. |
Dont jum[ to conclusions on if he can or can't. NFL CB's are alot different than college CB's. I guess we will find out.

Tribal Warfare I was just about to post the first video I cant figure out how, I still havent done that yet. The intro to that video is ridiculous man I love it. "King Kong aint got sh*t on me".

maybe he can evidently the Chiefs agree with you what happen to Jarrett? |

I would've prefered Jarrett, but Bowe is a nice consolation |
I really really like this guy, he seems like the total package. I thought we were gonna take Joe Staley but I knew a good bit about Bowe and I am glad we got him. I think he will be better than Jarrett who I thought should have gone in the first round too.

Jarrett is 6'5 Bowe is 6'2 and Bowe weighs more than Jarrett does.........
Bowe is alot more NFL ready in that he already knows how to be physical and beat the jams, Jarrett for all his size is still lanky and struggles with anyone who's heavily physical with him. |
I don't know if I have enough good strong man love for Bowe AND LJ. This is going to test my resolve.

I'm really amped that KC might have got Sterling Sharpe 2.0 |

Sterling was smooth too, and he wasn't a headcase like Owens. |

I love that we got this guy instead of Ginn and Meachum.
Don't get me wrong, I would have been pleased with either of those gents, but to have a big, bad-ass receiver dealing some punishment out to defenders is just too good for me to pass up. Herm's drafts seem quality so far. 2006 was strong, and 2007 seems solid so far. |
Why did Jarrett fall so far, i was suprised that said im more happy to have bowe at this point.

It's was his 40 more than anything, Mike Williams comparisons......stuff like that.
Jarrett is a project at some things, he has excellent ball skills but people question his ability to be physical or seperate. |
He can seperate...oh yeah...he can seperate....

My guess is he'll be fine.
As much talk as there's been about his blocking and ability to break tackles, as important aspect of his physical presence would (assumedly) be an ability to physcially outmaneuver a DB in press coverage. If he beats the press and gets off the line, I think we'll that 4.4 - 4.5 speed is not slow. At all. Now, some of that will come with experience, but if he's really the "football player" he's made out to be, he's potentially already leaps and bounds ahead of guys like Ginn, who have speed, but not the strength to beat coverage, not to mention disciplined route running. The more I read/see, the more it looks like we got a complete receiver, and those, my friends, are rare. |
