Let's be WINNERS and stuff a ballot, CP Brethern.
A coworker is a finalist for the "Grammy Gig of a Lifetime" contest. He's a speech/debate teacher with a pretty fascinating story (survived a plane crash, rescued some people from the plane, started living carpe diem after that, etc..) who is also a great musician. He has a young son and another on the way, and it would be really cool to see him take this contest. Anyway, feel free to vote here:
Here's the direct link to vote for him: http://www.cbs.com/shows/grammys/gig...14110058102098 Here's his video that he made that got him into the finals: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/jM2jlEOetiQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Edit: Need Facebook or Twitter to vote. |
I tried man, but i'm not on facebook or twitter.

Done.

Question. When a stupid, crass commercial website says that you have to link via Facebook to vote, what happens? Do you end up getting spammed by them? Do you get stuff on your Facebook page and can you then go in and "unlike" them or whatever to stop it?
I'm glad to vote, but I'm very cynical about getting spammed these days. |

Done! I could learn something from him, sounds like a great guy.

50x & a merry Christmas to boot

Thanks for all the votes, folks. Barrett has been trending as one of the top two all day long, so that's freaking cool.
|
Just so you all know, this is still ongoing. Barrett is still trending in the top two daily. It's been pretty crazy around here for him, as he's been on tons of news programs, radio shows, and even got to perform at a Razorback basketball game halftime yesterday. All very cool. Anyway, vote here:
gig.cbs.com/index/ He's also doing a bunch of previous Grammy award winner covers as an homage to the whole affair: Here's a "Sitting on the Dock of the Bay" cover that he did in his bathroom: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/b1jkiSW7hBw" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> And here's a "What Goes Around Comes Around" cover: <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/2xpNV8fvLlA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> |
Last day to vote on this. He started the day in 3rd, but he's been getting up to 1st at some point almost every day. Voting ends at 2pm.
So today is crunch time. |

He should tour with Billy Bob Thornton.

50 more sent his way.
|
Got my 50 in before the deadline. Hits close to home as my S/O is a teacher and musician as well. Good luck to him, he is really talented.
|
Thanks all. Overall winner will be announced on the 17th, evidently.
|
Barrett won! Thanks all.
