That whole "I need to take a break for a few days" thing? Changed my mind, this matchup is too interesting. Is Chen a fluke or not? Will he continue his improbable 2010 performance? We'll start to find out today.
|
Aviles in at 3rd and leading off, Betemit in at DH, Kila out, Getz batting 9th behind Escobar.

I don't get the Pena catching lefties and Treanor catching righties thing. The former's bat is much better, so he should be getting the vast majority of PT.
And it will be interesting to see how Kila is handled from here out...Just a day of rest? Beginning of the end? |
God...this team desperately needs more power at the plate.

Aviles singles to left Cabrera strikes out (looking) Aviles steals second Gordon strikes out (swinging) Butler strikes out (looking) 0 runs, 1 hit Bottom 1st Kinsler singles to left Moreland flies out to center Kinsler steals second Young flies out to third, Kinsler to third Beltre walks Cruz strikes out (swinging) 0 runs, 1 hit |
kinda funny that Denny had to pause to see how they scored that. That's a hit in any other ballpark, but this Texas scorer is so tough on fielders you had to wait and see.
|
You guys got a hit already?
|
Strike zone looks solid so far. He's not giving the bottom edge, but almost no one does. Outside edge is a strike today.
|
Allright Chen let's shut 'em down
|
Glad to see you with us today alnorth
|
We gotta have this win.
|
so close, almost an 8-3 double play
|
Damn he had 4 steps before Chen let it go
|
Billy's one unathletic ****. That ball tailed and looked like it damn near hit him on the wrist, which is impressive for someone wearing a glove.
|
That is definitely a Texas ballpark. Gigantic, obnoxiously overdone state pride, its got it all.
|
Nice pitching Chen

BRUCE

It's cute that you guys have major league pitchers now. Real cute.

We'll probably have a pile of lefty starters in a year or two. |

Steal one here
|
Shit, SOS has been more consistent than Hoch. We have a shit ton of 4-5 starters...
On another note, if Soria is truly bothered by cold weather, we need to get him right and trade him immediately. His career numbers don't support this theory, though. |
Wilson's getting squeezed a little bit.
|
Oh, snap.
Just like the old Royals! |
LMAO
|
I thought AL said he was taking a break from making game threads?
|
yeah, I did
Quote:

GoChiefs, do you really think it's possible to troll Royals threads? We have thicker calluses than even you ever thought about producing.
|
I think he got all of that one.
|
Royals = frauds.
|
They just showed George W Bush lol...he's wearing a Rangers hat.

Seriously, we aren't trollable. Royals fans mock their own team more effectively. |
I'm glad we only have the Rangers 4 more games.
Not because of the Rangers, because of their lone fan... |

One thing I've discovered this weekend: Royals games on TV are easier to watch when you are just slightly buzzed.

Getz grounds out to second Aviles flies out to center Cabrera fouls out to catcher 0 runs, 0 hits Bottom 3rd Kinsler bunts an infield single to third Moreland grounds into a 4-6-3 double play, Kinsler out at second Young strikes out (swinging) 0 runs, 1 hit |

I like this umpire, that strike zone is reasonably large. Looks young too, so hopefully he sticks around a while.
Tiny strike zones lead to games that aren't a lot of fun to watch. More walks, more hits, more visits to the mound, longer innings, more pitching changes, and very long games that tend to be lopsided by the late innings. |
Chen being sneaky or just messing up on his windup

4th inning
Top 4th
Gordon grounds out to shortstop Butler strikes out (swinging) Francoeur homers to left (foul pole) Betemit hits an infield single to second Pena grounds out to third 1 run, 2 hits Bottom 4th Beltre homers to left Cruz doubles to right Napoli grounds out to second, Cruz to third Murphy reaches on a 6-2-5 fielder's choice, Cruz out at home Murphy picked off 1-3-4, out at second 1 run, 2 hits |
Omaha knocked Greinke out of the game in the 3rd inning. He was obviously pitchcount limited, but he only went 2 2/3 innings in almost 60 pitches. Cain and Lough hit triples off him.
