Tampa Bay

Decided to make the trip to Tampa Bay/Chiefs game in Tampa on Oct 14th, which happens to be on my 30th Birthday. This will be my 1st time in Tampa. We are going to spend the weekend in Tampa, what is there to do there as far as entertainment? Any other CPers going?

Will be there. BigRedChief setup some group tickets for a local Chiefs game watch group we have in Tampa. I'm sure we'll be tailgating.

LOCOChief 09-12-2012 06:46 PM

I think we're going. Southern Miss at UCF the 13th , Chiefs at RJ the 14th.

Tampa hasn't sold out a game in a while. Tickets are very easy to get there now.

Watch that be the one game of the season which a win knocks KC out of contention to draft Barkley.

I think I'm going. Have yet to attend a Chiefs or professional football game in general so I really want to. Probably going to wait to see how we look around week 4 before I get tickets though.

Yeah, saw some guy jump while fishing on those piers off in the distance, and drove up over the skyway once right after someone jumped, saw the FHP, HBS and the Coast Guard boats looking for her.

ThaVirus 09-28-2012 01:45 PM

So I'm looking to go to this game here. I've been looking online and have found what I would guess are some decent prices (I don't know; I've never been to a professional game). Anyway, the ticket prices aren't a big deal, but I'm annoyed by the $30 service and $15 delivery fees tacked on by these online ticket sellers. There seem to be a shit ton of seats available and the Chiefs/Bucs is not a marquee matchup so I feel like it will stay that way. It just seems stupid to pay more than face value for tickets and then pay an additional $45 on top of that.

My question to those of you that have experience in the matter is: should I stop being a little bitch and just take those stupid extra fees or should I try my luck at buying tickets on gameday at the stadium? Are ticket prices generally cheaper at that point or more expensive? If they are more expensive, are they still competitive with the online ticket prices after all the additional fees or much more/much less?

I was stationed there for a year, tons of stuff to do. It's the strip club capita of the world if your into that kind of thing. Lots of bars food and culture. Plenty of beautiful women, I'd say the most I've seen. Hard rock casino is something to check out. Might be a little chili for beach season but st Pete beach is awesome. Ybor city it's kid of like a New Orleans feel. SOHO is college life. Channel side is a good place to go on a Friday night. Anyway those are some places to start. Have a blast!

I would perhaps be interested in both of these LMAO It'll not only be my first Chiefs game, but my first professional football game period so I wouldn't mind seeing what it's ALL about.

Any way you could inquire as to what seats and for how much? I'd appreciate it.

down from NC to visit family that weekend....I love the Chiefs and have 1 extra ticket that I'd like to offer to a fellow fan. Section 138 Row E (Chiefs sideline 5th row). I paid $93 but will take best offer

BigRedChief 10-07-2012 06:52 PM

Okay Chief fans its time to finalize the tailgating logistics. Here is where our Tampa group is going to tailgate. So far Planeteers attending (BRC, Cosmic Pal, DAKCAPman, KC Native)

Lots open 3.5 hours before tailgating. We will tailgate in parking lot 1. It's a first come first serve lot. We will meet in the Parking lot at Champps, We can then drive over together and park/tailgate together. We will meet at 8:45 am in the parking lot. We will leave at 9:00 am for the short drive to the stadium to get in line for lot 1.

I thought I was going to be in Tampa tonight but a change of plans puts me there tomorrow. I'll try and make it out to the lot if at all possible. At what time do you guys wrap up the tailgate and head inside? Also, where will be the best place to get my ticket? Will they have a location at the stadium or am I going to be forced to buy from some random stranger?

We don't have a standard time that we will head into the stadium. That will be up to the individuals.

There is one guy saying on our groups site that he has a ticket to sell and will be at the tailgate.

ThaVirus 10-13-2012 03:32 PM

Ok, thanks. I'll help him out if I can but was wanting to see what other tickets were available before I commit.

I don't mind paying for good seats. It's my first NFL game and the Chiefs are my favorite team. The problem is, my friend said he might go and wasn't trying to spend more than $50 on a ticket (cheap ass). I can understand as the Chiefs aren't his team and the Bucs aren't exactly a huge entertainment draw. At any rate, I'll have to wait and see if he's even going to go, then find out what price he's willing to pay, and I'll have to go from there.

Dayze 10-13-2012 07:10 PM

Most of my friends wore Chiefs t-shirts just in case some shit went down. One friend of mine wore a Bowe Pro Bowl jersey to the game.
