Tampa Bay
Decided to make the trip to Tampa Bay/Chiefs game in Tampa on Oct 14th, which happens to be on my 30th Birthday. This will be my 1st time in Tampa. We are going to spend the weekend in Tampa, what is there to do there as far as entertainment? Any other CPers going?

Will be there. BigRedChief setup some group tickets for a local Chiefs game watch group we have in Tampa. I'm sure we'll be tailgating.
|
I think we're going. Southern Miss at UCF the 13th , Chiefs at RJ the 14th.

I think I'm going. Have yet to attend a Chiefs or professional football game in general so I really want to. Probably going to wait to see how we look around week 4 before I get tickets though.
|
Go to da club and MAKE IT RAIN!
|
I will be down visiting a buddy who moved to Florida. I thought about going but he's not really into Football and only has Sundays and Mondays off.............. So yeah i will be in town but not attending.

I can't say I'd be willing to travel nearly 1400 miles without some pretty good tickets in hand.

So I'm looking to go to this game here. I've been looking online and have found what I would guess are some decent prices (I don't know; I've never been to a professional game). Anyway, the ticket prices aren't a big deal, but I'm annoyed by the $30 service and $15 delivery fees tacked on by these online ticket sellers. There seem to be a shit ton of seats available and the Chiefs/Bucs is not a marquee matchup so I feel like it will stay that way. It just seems stupid to pay more than face value for tickets and then pay an additional $45 on top of that.
My question to those of you that have experience in the matter is: should I stop being a little bitch and just take those stupid extra fees or should I try my luck at buying tickets on gameday at the stadium? Are ticket prices generally cheaper at that point or more expensive? If they are more expensive, are they still competitive with the online ticket prices after all the additional fees or much more/much less? |

Its also my 45th Birthday lets hope we get a nice win to celebrate!
I was in Tampa bay last yr but it was simply to drive thru to see it on my way to other parts of Florida. I was on a crazy long bridge looking at the skyline and it looked awesome at night time. Sorry I cant add much else. |

I was stationed there for a year, tons of stuff to do. It's the strip club capita of the world if your into that kind of thing. Lots of bars food and culture. Plenty of beautiful women, I'd say the most I've seen. Hard rock casino is something to check out. Might be a little chili for beach season but st Pete beach is awesome. Ybor city it's kid of like a New Orleans feel. SOHO is college life. Channel side is a good place to go on a Friday night. Anyway those are some places to start. Have a blast!

down from NC to visit family that weekend....I love the Chiefs and have 1 extra ticket that I'd like to offer to a fellow fan. Section 138 Row E (Chiefs sideline 5th row). I paid $93 but will take best offer |
Okay Chief fans its time to finalize the tailgating logistics. Here is where our Tampa group is going to tailgate. So far Planeteers attending (BRC, Cosmic Pal, DAKCAPman, KC Native)
Lots open 3.5 hours before tailgating. We will tailgate in parking lot 1. It's a first come first serve lot. We will meet in the Parking lot at Champps, We can then drive over together and park/tailgate together. We will meet at 8:45 am in the parking lot. We will leave at 9:00 am for the short drive to the stadium to get in line for lot 1. http://photos1.meetupstatic.com/phot...166863652.jpeg Web link to the map: http://raymondjamesstadium.com/wp-co...p-2012-web.jpg |
So who's going to the game?
|
Tampa Bay is filled w/ nothing but old people.
esp Clearwater Beach |
I am flying down on Thursday with some friends. Going fishing on Saturday. I have my ticket already and on field passes for before the game.
|
I'll be there
|
I just moved down here a couple of months ago and had no idea there was a local Chiefs group! (Guess I should check CP a little more often) I am about 90% sure we'll be going to this game, should find out for sure by tomorrow.

I thought I was going to be in Tampa tonight but a change of plans puts me there tomorrow. I'll try and make it out to the lot if at all possible. At what time do you guys wrap up the tailgate and head inside? Also, where will be the best place to get my ticket? Will they have a location at the stadium or am I going to be forced to buy from some random stranger?

There is one guy saying on our groups site that he has a ticket to sell and will be at the tailgate. |
Ok, thanks. I'll help him out if I can but was wanting to see what other tickets were available before I commit.
I don't mind paying for good seats. It's my first NFL game and the Chiefs are my favorite team. The problem is, my friend said he might go and wasn't trying to spend more than $50 on a ticket (cheap ass). I can understand as the Chiefs aren't his team and the Bucs aren't exactly a huge entertainment draw. At any rate, I'll have to wait and see if he's even going to go, then find out what price he's willing to pay, and I'll have to go from there. |
Have fun. Watch your collective corn holes
|
We are not far from still being in this. If Denver beats the Chargers they are both 3 and 3. We got robbed this week, and should be 2 and 3. I think we will win this week. so we will be 2 and 4 and I think Denver and the Chargers will be 3 and 3 this week. We are not out of it yet.

Nice hangers.

Couple of days later............. I'm still pissed that they played with such a lack of passion and phoned in their effort. Who wants to cheer for a "soft" team? My baseball team's LF threw a better block than the Chiefs did all afternoon.

Damn - so many brave people. I'd NEVER wear a Chiefs jersey in public...
