Would you take Te'o with the 2nd round pick?
With the scandal it could be possible that teams might shy away from Manti Te'o in the 1st round. He does play a position that is a need for the Chiefs. We have recently stolen a first round quality LB (Houston) in the 3rd round in a loosely similar situation.
With all that in mind, and assuming the Chiefs take care of the QB need in the 1st, are you for or against taking Te'o in the 2nd if he's still on the board? I'm torn on this scenario myself. Frankly I'm always very dubious of media hypes for Notre Dame players. Until I heard about this "fantastic" ILB later in the season I hadn't seen him in action. I must say I have watched him in 3 games since then and am not impressed. Maybe not even as a 2nd rounder. Maybe he was spectacular until I started watching him, but I doubt it. Has anyone here watched him all season or last season and can convince me he's worth our 2nd rounder? |
I'd **** a certain person's iranian mother for a second round pick *shrug*
sorry, couldn't resist :) |
No thanks, I don't see him being very good in the NFL. And I don't want to deal with the drama of having him around.
|
nope, even before the bullshit.
|
He looks slow and small against real competition.
|
I'd take him in the second. He is a good coverage linebacker and in today's NFL, Hali and Houston coming off the edges with Teo and DJ dropping back could prove to really help this defense.
Th guy has some issues, no doubt,..but so do most linebackers. |
If he falls that far then yes. His upside is a lot higher than most of the players that will be avaliable.
|
5th or lower only

and thought he was an OL? we got that |
I worry about how other players would be treat Te'o in the locker room. How would he every be able to earn trust respect. Ya never know if he's telling the truth.
|
lol, too many chiefs fans wanted him with the #1 a month ago lolol

According to the trade charts, psychopathic behavior moves a player down less than one round if he plays defense, so yes, I'd take him in the second.
|
Not if Wilson's there.
|
From the standpoint of his NFL future, he would have been better off dry fisting a live girl than lying about talking to a dead one. The cultural priorities of the locker room aren't the same as other spaces. Hence the anathema of being gay.
|
Since our 2nd is at the VERY top of the 2nd round... NO, but it it was mid to late 2nd I would.

Ok, I'd take Te'o in the second...BUT, only if we get his girlfriend in the 3rd
|
nope. He is just Mike Maslowski 1.5

I would trade Cassel for her |
Not with a ten foot pole.

I'd rather have a WR/TE. Maybe in the 3rd.

Haha
It would be ****ed up to replace Belcher (who killed his girlfriend) with Teo (who acted like his made up girlfriend died) |
Nup
|
No way.
I said way back in December (maybe November) that he was slow as shit and was basically a poor man's Rey Maualuga, who lasted until the second. Unless the guy runs a 4.43 (which he won't - maybe a 5.43), he's a 4th rounder. |
I wouldn't want him on my team in any capacity. Same with Tebow.

He's a Hawaiian Mike Maslowski. Hell to the no.
|
Have someone call him in the 2nd and pretend to draft him maybe.

2nd, no. 3rd , sure.

There are so many good players that could drop out of the 1st round. I'd rather have all of them than Te'o.
Hell, there are so many good players that could drop out of the 2ND round. I'd rather have all of them than Te'o. So... no. |
It's amazing that Kiper and others ever had him mocked for 1st overall. And that's before all this crap.
|
Trade down and draft him/Homo
|
**** NO
|
a high second?
no ****ing way...scandal or no scandal |
Absolutely not

I'll go against the grain here and say "yes." I think the guy is incredibly gullible, but he has a nose for the ball. He's not the fastest guy, he's not the biggest guy, he's not the strongest guy--but the guy does have pretty good fundamentals (aside from the BCS game, and lets face it, he was pretty distracted that game) and he had 7 INTs this past year. You don't wind up with 7 INTs as a MLB by luck. With our (supposed) shift to an attacking defense, I think he would be a perfect addition to our front seven. We're in a pass happy NFL now, folks.
Get DRC and Jarius Byrd and I think we could have an elite D as I think our D-line will be much improved if we just let them loose. |
Hell yes you take him in the second. No brainer. It won't happen because there's no way in hell he makes it out of the first.
|
Maybe, depends on who else is available.
probably not though because our 2nd rd pk is almost in the 1st rd and middle linebacker is a mid rd value position. |

But this is a guy who has been talked about as a possible first pick in the draft. To me that's laughable. Having watched him in the late season games I saw nothing that told me he is even a 3rd rounder. Again I defer to not having followed his career before the late 2012 games. So I don't know. |

A MLB/ILB with marginal speed to cover?
Not a ****ing chance. |
Quote:
If Tyler Wilson is there in the 2nd round i think we have to seriously consider selecting him EVEN IF we have already selected Geno Smith. Not only could he provide an insurance policy and valuable depth, he could also be traded for a 1st round pick later on if he turns out to be good. |

Combine.

He will have to show enough speed and quicknees to be able to handle NFL level talent or his stock will drop like a rock. |
Yeah, he would never fall for a fake.
You can't overstate the role that his "story" played in his evaluation. It pointed to him as a leader, as strong, the kind of guy you want on your team. Whether he played a role in the hoax or not, that story isn't really his story and now you're forced to look at him as just another MLB draft prospect. I'd take Minter, Ogletree, A. Jackson, Nico Johnson, and Shayne Skov before I'd take Te'o. |

And BTW, until further data, I consider Wilson in the 2nd a much wiser pick than Geno in the 1st. Unless Geno in the 1st is a result of trade down and Dorsey has raped a team out of a bunch of draft choices for it. Quote:

No.
He was exposed in the title game for what he is, an okay college player that had his reputation blown up by the Notre Dame hype machine. He was completely overmatched by Alabama's players, and it'll be even worse on the field against an NFL roster. |

No. Dude has serious issues. Do not need his head issues

What about Andrew Jackson, ILB, Western KY? Dude has good size at 265. anyone seen him play?

That's the first thing. The second is that no one is going to trade a first for a back up. The third is, as a second round pick, he is not going to be "high salaried". Quote:
Smith and Wilson will both likely be top 7, and there will likely be 4 QBs taken overall in the first round. |
He looks slower than Jon Baldwin. No.

I wouldn't **** with Te'o with Houston's pick.
