Quinn QBotF
Hate on me!
http://www.bobgretz.com/chiefs-footb...a-starter.html Watching the quarterbacks Among the 3 quarterbacks on the roster, the guy who threw the ball best on Thursday was Brady Quinn. He appears to have solid mechanics in his drop and has smoothed out some rough edges that were visible in his motion going back to Notre Dame. Matt Cassel threw several nice passes, but he was high on his throws during much of the session. Ricky Stanzi was OK. LMAO @Iowa homers. “I think they’re beginning to gain a command of the system and some of the checks that we have in place,” Crennel said. “They’re all doing well. Probably, Brady and Matt are a little ahead of Stanzi right now, but they’re all working at it. They’re a good group in that room, so we feel good about them.” |
|
I believe it.
|
Well of course Quinn looks great throwing and is the best pure athlete. He was a 1st round QB for a reason. Duh....Once the real games start however...............
|
Quinn hasn't played in a few years, but that doesn't mean he hasn't worked and improved. Sometimes it takes QBs awhile to get it and I'll hope we got lucky. I'd bet he's as good or better than the QB that's played poorly the last 2 years for us. The jury is out. Preseason will tell the story about these guys.
|
Should I start the "Quinn still sucks" thread?
|
I look forward to the QB play this year in the preseason. Not just to see Cassel get out played by the #2 and #3 guys but just because this is the best group of #2 and #3 guys KC has had in a long time.
|
Cassel's throws were high? Wow. Didn't see THAT coming. I hope they repainted the goalposts. They were looking a bit brown by the time Cassel went down.
|
Yep, gonna be awesome when Quinn is our #2.
Real smart GM we have. |
Don't ****ing ruin this for me.
|
Good for Quinn. I'd appreciate it even more if he would rip off Cassel's dick, though.
|
Quinn has to know this could be his last shot.
I hope he makes the most of it, I'm pulling for him. I just hope he's given a fair chance as the starter. |
I think there's a very good chance that Quinn ends up as one of our top three quarterbacks this season.
|
nothing like trading shit for crap. is that an upgrade?

I wonder if Quinn being a little ahead of Stanzi could have something to do with him playing in this offense during the 2009 season...
|
Im pulling for whoever gives us the best chance to win and thats Cassel /Pioli

Quinn never had a chance man. Maybe there could be a small glimmer of hope there.
|
yup
|
Anything
But Cassel |
Quinn was a former #1.
He's your backup. No amount of hoping is ever going to make Ricky Stanzi the man in Kansas City. He's going to have to earn that look. |
At the rate this club drafts QBs
the more development time Stanzi gets the better off the whole team is |

Ricky Stanzi was OK LMAO @Iowa homers.
This could mean something very positive, because Gretz didn't qualify it as "just ok" or an average showing. |

Are there any reports of Quinn missing his head with his hat?
|
Cassel will take care of it.

Great to hear. I hope we get daily updates from every practice on the QB's performances. |
Quinn should get a real long look. Matt stinks and RC knows it.

I remember the draft where Quinn got taken ahead of our pick. Hope he does well when he gets a chance for us.

Maybe Quinn is a late bloomer like a certain Rich Gannon.

Who do you want as number 2? Stanzi or Cassel? |

Choose your words carefully Chiefs fans because we are all going to be calling for Quinn by midseason.
I want to believe. Quinn led a team at the college level. He was successful there and was a first round QB. Cassel on the other hand was not a prospect and only ever should have been asked to be a decent NFL backup. Question: If Quinn had been the backup when Brady went down, would he have done as well as Cassel did that year? I think he definitely could have or would have. I don't think there is any warrant to say Cassel is definitely better than Quinn. One got a shot in a favorable situation. The other never did. I don't expect either to be QB in the NFL much longer, but for what it's worth, i think it really should be an open competition. Quinn is probably just as good as Cassel. |
When the crowd comes in, the spotlights go on, and the NFL ref blows the whistle for real, players play a lot differently than they do in practice or in college. From 1st-round busts to physical specimens, the NFL is littered with "could've beens" who looked like Tarzan and played like Jane. It's why guys like Jeff George and Drew Bledsoe never reach their potential while guys like Doug Flutie and Chad Pennington make more of their opportunities than expected.
If Quinn was Tarzan, he'd be starting somewhere. He's Jane. His last game action was the end of 2009. And it should be memorable for some of you. Sun 12/20/09 at Kansas City. 10 for 17. 66 yards. No TDs and two INTs. QB rating: 27.7. Move along, nothing to see here. |

I know everybody hates Cassel... but give me a ****ing break. Cassel, no matter what you think about him as a QB, has had some success in the NFL... Quinn has done nothing.... couldn't beat out Derek Anderson or Orton. I love a good story as much as anybody else, but hoping that Brady Quinn will deliver us is just wishful thinking. |
The Patriots would have been a perfect spot for Quinn to get drafted. The Browns ****ed his career.

Anything related to Quinn and QBOTF is about as depressing as having both Cassel and Stanzi on the roster...
|
Holmgren liked Seneca Wallace more than Quinn.
|
sad part is that Quinn is still 3 years younger than Castle
lol that is sad for Castle and a testament of how bad he really is at 30 years old |
Quinn can suck a massive dick. And all his supporters can suck an even bigger dick. He's garbage. Stanzi will be starting this year anyway. Give Cassel 5 games and Quinn will only need one to ****ing suck and then you Got Stanzi for 10.
|
Quote:
just as long as we dont have to watch Castle shit his pants again all year, i'll be good ta go. |
Quinn in 14 career games...10 TDs, 9 INTs, and 3 fumbles.
Ironically that was Cassel's TDs and INTs just last year in 9 Games. Put the pipe down. |

We wont win shit with any one of these qb's. All of them suck major ass and the thought of any of them taking snaps as the starter this year is mortifing.... |
Quote:
they're not on the roster this season. |
1) How can someone who has never played an NFL snap suck
2) McFistpump's other QBs(Cutler & Tebow) have won playoff games 3) It's Friday make sure you have Kool-Aid |

I see one as a stop-gap (the one year contract backs that theory), because the third stringer isn't ready to take over the number two spot, but I have little faith in Quinn miraculously turning into something he hasn't shown to be, thus far. Stanzi, I have some understanding of seeing what he has due to his age, but he's still raw and needs a lot of work. I'll be ecstatic if he earns the number two spot, but until then, he's just another late round QB fighting for a roster spot, when we've seen this so many times and it's never worked out for us. I'm holding out little hope that he actually turns into a fabulous starting QB in the league, because I've yet to see the Chiefs develop a QB worth a shit, let alone a late round QB. Wish it wasn't so, but that's the way I see it. |

I have never once defended Cassel, merely pointed out, FACTS, that hopefully, bring some insight to the discussion and keep the blinded from cornering the market on such witty insight as "Cassel sucks." I prefer to actually discuss the issues, but so many use vauge and broad brushstrokes that bare little fruit and use the dog-pile mentality. I prefer to keep it real. Cassel has player better than Quinn. Period. I know that doesn't fall in line with average Cassel sucks fan, but I really don't give a shit, because I'm interested in the facts, not somebody's opinion. Do I think Cassel is great? No, far from it, but I'm also not so ****ing blind, that I'm going to ignore the actual numbers that support how they play on the field, when it counts. |

http://scores.espn.go.com/nfl/boxscore?gameId=310130032 According to the link Cassel threw 2 TDs and 2 INTs, the same as Rivers and better than Peyton Manning's 0 TDs and 1 INT. |

Put Quinn as Tom Brady's backup.......spending the entire time learning from Belicheck, Weis and McDaniels......and then put him in as the starter with Moss and Welker......and he'd be worse than Cassel? If you honestly think that.....you're ****ing stupid. |
Let's reverse those stories.
Put Cassel on that Browns team. I guarantee you that Cassel isn't even in the league anymore. |

Reading Quinn's actual career biography is a constant lesson in bad effing luck, especially once the Mangenius took over in Cleveland. Complete cockup of the whole situation. There is reason to hope, if not be optimistic. |
