Wow, there you go.

I guess Breaston was done. Boss had better retire.

NJChiefsFan 02-19-2013 04:34 PM

What do we save for cutting Breaston? What a wonderful mystery Breaston was.

silver5liter 02-19-2013 04:34 PM

Really did not see this coming.....

Bowser 02-19-2013 04:34 PM

Whoa. Didn't see those coming.

The Bad Guy 02-19-2013 04:34 PM

If they are dead set against taking a QB #1 overall, then I want the WR from Tennessee.

This team needs receivers badly.

Pasta Little Brioni 02-19-2013 04:34 PM

Wierd

ToxSocks 02-19-2013 04:35 PM

Interdasting.

The Bad Guy 02-19-2013 04:35 PM

Cassel and Tyson Jackson better be next.

silver5liter 02-19-2013 04:35 PM

Wonder if he plans on dex and wiley running out of the slot

O.city 02-19-2013 04:35 PM

I'd say we will probably be looking at the WR's at the top of the 2nd now.

Dunerdr 02-19-2013 04:35 PM

Well there goes the Breastons a stud without Pioli theory. Whodathunkit. Wonder if its a talent thing or a money thing?

mr. tegu 02-19-2013 04:35 PM

This is pretty strange. Setting up room to sign Bowe?

Boss getting cut was all but guaranteed. The guy needs to retire, he's a ticking time bomb with the concussions.

Breaston though, I'll give you that. Totally unexpected.

Dayze 02-19-2013 04:36 PM

This team is hosed at WR. Short of Baldwin getting his ass in gear.
as it were, he's been a steaming pile.

The Bad Guy 02-19-2013 04:37 PM

This is a RUMOR I heard from a guy I've gotten info from in the past. Not the same guy that gave me a lot of info this year.

Chiefs are going to make some calls to Gonzalez's agent to see if he'd be interested in finishing his career in KC.

Guy cautioned that it's a rumor.

keg in kc 02-19-2013 04:37 PM

Guess Breaston wasn't sitting because of a conspiracy after all.

O.city 02-19-2013 04:38 PM

I did read that Gonzo is back tracking on the whole retirement thing.

I doubt he'd be interested. I don't see why that makes any sense at all for either party tbh.

Hammock Parties 02-19-2013 04:38 PM

Strike 1.

Breaston is going to be a good WR for someone this year.

If we're going to be honest about this, it's not like Breaston made the most out of his opportunities last season. When he did get looks, he had catchable balls bounce right off his hands.

I doubt he is too.

However, this regime wants to help a young QB.

It doesn't hurt as a good will type thing, but I can't ever see it happening.

Questionable move, but definitely not a strike.

I guess it's possible they felt Breaston had lost something physically.

Think it's probably a Titus Young kind of thing.

There's a reason he sat on the bench all of last year. He said in an interview "He didn't understand why and was never told why". I'm calling bullshit. He got Butthurt about something and became a locker room cancer I'm guessing.

O.city 02-19-2013 04:41 PM

Going to have to upgrade the WR spot now somewhere.

Making room for Harvin or Maclin?

Yeah, good point. Boss is one of those "If only he could have stayed healthy...." type of players.

Breaston, though..... You could make a great argument that he was the second best receiver on this team.

Hammock Parties 02-19-2013 04:41 PM

Maybe they're gonna go after Greg Jennings. *shrug*

The Chiefs also tape every practice. Asshole Daboll is a complete asshat, but he has coached some good WRs.

I think Breaston's problems were a lot deeper than a personality conflict.

O.city 02-19-2013 04:42 PM

They better damn well sign Bowe back now.

Really? He didn't even really play last year and he was rumored to have knee problems before that. As much as some want to say he as black balled last year because he was a Haley guy teams usually don't let quality players just sit the bench. Well unless they're Al Davis. Seems like a probable cut to me.

I don't think either move is being made to create space for another move.

I do think that Patterson needs to be in the top pick discussion if Geno Smith isn't the guy.

Yeah, that was my initial reaction as well. Although I don't remember hearing anything about his attitude in the past. If anything he's been spoken of really positively in that regard, going all the way back to michigan.

Maybe an injury we don't know about?

I think you fill the CB void in free agency. It's a stocked group that will likely drive prices down on some.

Hammock Parties 02-19-2013 04:45 PM

Breaston probably asked for his release after they told him Cassel would be the starter again.

Iowanian 02-19-2013 04:45 PM

Boss makes sense because he's had more concussions than Russia has former republics.

I really thought Breaston might have just been in the dog house with Romeo....must be more to the story.

New staff, I'm just trusting them this year and will judge from the results.

Patterson is a stud, but I just can't get to taking a WR before we get our QB. Although, I'd say they plan on getting both.

RunKC 02-19-2013 04:46 PM

Well, Heyward-Bey is said to be cut. Wouldn't mind bringing him in if/when that happens.

Dayze 02-19-2013 04:47 PM

I smell a trade down and pick up a 2nd / 3rd and use them to get our WR and CB.

I don't want that to happen, but....we're the Chiefs.

Don't mean to read into your every word, but when you say that second sentence are you editorializing or having you heard something?

Can we hope that this is good news on the Bowe front or would they be willing to cut Breaston even if losing Bowe was a good possibility?

KCrockaholic 02-19-2013 04:48 PM

Patterson is pretty damn impressive. But unless he has a QB it wont matter a whole lot.

There's no trade partners. This pick is virtually untradeable.

Patterson to me is a ton more attractive. He's going to blow up at the combine.

O.city 02-19-2013 04:48 PM

On a side bar, what does this say about their thinking of Baldwin.

That was what I was told. That's not from me.

From the info I was told over the last 4 days, the odds of Bowe playing elsewhere are slim to none.

Doubtful.

He'll be 30 years old to the start the season. He couldn't get on the field in 2012 and was cut by a WR friendly GM & Coach that needs WR's to make their offense work.

This also means we're gonna need to find TEs. A couple of them. Reid has got to know that he can't trust Moeaki for shit. If he goes down then we have... Maneri....

Wouldn't be surprised to go QB at #1 then hope like hell one of the projected first round TEs falls to us at #34

Hammock Parties 02-19-2013 04:52 PM

Maybe an issue with Breaston's knee flared up.

He has a bad knee.

O.city 02-19-2013 04:52 PM

CB or WR needs to be resolved in free agency, cause there are going to be some really interesting prospects at the top of round 2.

I would love to hear their comments on the GM and coaching moves the past few years. I just picture them watching these tapes and talking to each other with their mouths full of popcorn just choking on curse words meant to describe what they are viewing.
