**** OFFICIAL 2024 KANSAS CITY CHIEFS DRAFT GRADE ****
Yes - it's way too early to know anything for sure, but who gives a shit.
Grade the Chiefs draft. Poll. |
A - especially considering we were drafting at the end of every round.
|
We are beyond getting graded. Veach has pissed on the league and our coaching staff and players have taken a big shit on their faces. Nobody should be saying shit about our choices.
|
I have visions of worthy making back breaking plays late in playoff games to beat the Bills.
|
Only time well tell, but this feels like 2022's draft with the first 5. We are so deep it's going to be tough for them all to make the 53, but I have zero complaints.
|
Veach got Buffalo and SF to help us out. He owns the NFL.
|
A. Hit just about everything we needed. Can’t argue with any of the picks.
I’ll listen to someone giving Veach a B, just because we didn’t grab a DT or RB. That said, you’d have to drop one of the guys we did pick. I don’t see any real obvious replacement though. |
Wait, the draft was today?
|
This draft was so good we're going to invent a new alphabet with characters going above A to represent the draft grade Veach gets.
|
Considering our position, it was awesome.
We weren't high enough in round 1 to get an elite guy, but we got insane value at positions of need. I dont understand how the NFL just lets this happen, you're really not supposed to get what you want when you draft last every year. |
A.
Only thing preventing an A+ is not getting a RB. |

If you drop into B range on this that says a lot about the sort of bitter bitch you are.
Hard to be upset at any of it. |

We still got perine as rb I think he'll be good.
|
I agree that this draft felt a lot like 2022 in many ways. Certainly better than last years draft.
I think I’d give it an A-. We lost some draft capital moving up (which is fine) but we got our guys. I feel like a draft cannot be an A+ unless it’s got a ton of picks bringing in talent everywhere or you get a transformative QB. Every player but 1 from the 2022 class played as a rookie and made an impact that year which was crazy. Even two 7th rd picks. |
Veach also gets bonus points keeping Xavier Worthy out of Buffalo.
That's a literal conference-changing trade. No idea what those dumb ****ers are thinking but they might have cost themselves another Super Bowl. |
Grading the draft is a pointless exercise. No one knows how these guys are going to pan out.
That being said, the Chiefs got an A+ this year and if you don’t think so you’re a ****ing moron. |

I’m going to be obtuse and give it an F for no alpha WR. Plus if I’m wrong it’s okay because the chiefs are still good because of it.
|
Here's all the information I have on the players so far: Veach, Reid, and Spagnuolo drafted them.
Based on that information, I'd give them at A+. |

I did want a DT though. |
I voted “A”, and it’s an honest grade, not because of being a fan or not. It’s amazing how good this draft ended up for the Chiefs considering that they didn’t use any future draft capital. Veach and all involved did another outstanding job.
Here’s a link to show what each team had in draft pick value before the draft started. It’s always an uphill battle for Veach since they are drafting at the bottom of the draft every year. No way anyone could have expected a draft this good without having to give up future draft picks or players of value. https://www.tankathon.com/nfl/power_rankings |
I think it's A. Only tiny things I'd have liked would've been a RB, DT or WR with the last couple of picks. But it meets needs both now and in future and given where we're picking that's a helluva job.
|
A and an easy one at that….
I love Worthy…getting Kingsley where he did was really good value, I like the Wiley pick and think that’s a sleeper, and Jaden Hicks in the 4th will end up being one of the great heists of this draft. Everything else is a crapshoot and I’m ok with that…esp. with the athleticism and versatility he took. |

Bring on the season let's make history |
Cole gives it a B+

There's quite a few teams that have had good looking drafts. Some of them might end up better than ours...but then I remember WHERE they are picking and to be honest, I don't know I prefer them for value.

This draft was an A if only because of the WHAT THE ****?!? moment we got in the first round trade with Buffalo. That was a shot across the bow of the entire NFL.
|
I don't think McDermott wanted Worthy. Throwing down field may lead to INTs(with Allen has a little merit). Fumbles are okay though, that's big pants football
|
Would like to know who said this.

GM Brent Vulture gets an A+ |
It's amazing how they continue to draft solid year after year. A+
|
an A+ draft based on upside potential, positional value and addressing needs.

In 4 years the league may be wondering how the **** they let us get worthy and wiley in the same draft.

No Dline help, but an A draft.

A few frustrations like Shipley and Guerendo going a few picks higher than us in Round 4 and Trotter Jr to fill the Willie Gay gap in the 5th but picking late every round those things are inevitable and it’s an A draft with the biggest needs addressed.
|
Veach and his team killed it.

Could not be more pleased…
This 2024 draft appears to have landed at a really good intersection of value and need. |
Has to be an "A" right? All of the sudden you look up and there's not enough space in the overhead compartment to cram in an Ipad. Grade by what is gone from a Super Bowl winner:
-MVS, Richie James, Hardman -Blake Bell -Donovan Smith? Probable last hurrah for Thuney and Trey? -Neil Farell (Lovett)? Jack Cochrane or Christiansen (Jacobs)? -Deon Bush, Mike Edwards, and probably Reid's last year? The roster is young and deep (we tend to forget about guys that are/could be ready to contribute from last year - Nazeeh, Nic Jones, Boye-Doe, and just got better. If Kinglsey has drive, desire, and aptitude greater than Kinnard and Niang, and Wiley can replicate what his tape shows and learn tricks of the trade from Kelce, this could be an A+++ draft, especially given the annual #32 spot. Worthy allows the option of a one-and-done Hollywood and the acquisistion of a more traditional #1 next year, and Hicks could be a multi-contract steal, and defensive leader (admittedly only saw Wazzu play one game). <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ea2qb5qTeQI?si=69Vh4hMZj6LlY4Rd&start=60" title="YouTube video player" frameborder="0" allow="accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share" referrerpolicy="strict-origin-when-cross-origin" allowfullscreen></iframe> "These are great days we're livin bros" |

If anyone is interested, I came across this, it’s a compilation of around 20 different analysts draft grades for each team.

Veach is working to change the narrative from, "It's rigged for the Chiefs to win" to "It's going to have to be rigged for the Chiefs to lose"
|
I'll say an A
We filled positions of need, got good value and didn't reach. We also worked a couple of our rivals in trades. Obviously it's unknown how these prospects pan out but in terms of navigating the draft board and addressing needs I felt we did a really good job. |

Veach’s patience really impressed me. He has a tremendous read on what other teams are going to do.
I think we’d all (mostly agree) that LT was a bigger need than WR. Veach probably agrees, but read the board correctly to wait for the LT because he knew his guy would still be there late in the second based on what the other teams did. The first two rounds would’ve kinda sucked (understandably) if we took a LT that needs some work then settled for a WR in the second. Instead, Veach took an otherworldly talent at WR that wouldn’t be there in the second then took the LT that needed work in the second. Just great work. |

I mean, taking the chance that your LT will be there in the second round? Can’t be luck. |
