How amped up are you about this game?

I'm not sure why, but I'm WAY more into this game than I've been in quite a while. That probably means we're going to go all Charlie Brown with the football, but I feel like this could be the turning point game where we finally at least reach parity with the Broncos.

What about you?

Biggest one in some time. This would be a very significant milestone in the Reid/Doesey rebuilding project if we win.

Reerun_KC 09-17-2015 01:02 PM

Totally immersed into Gameday... NFL network went on the TV at 8 am this morning. Ribs and pork shoulder went on around 830 am...

Only thing I wish I had was a custom Chiefs Jersey with Reerun on the back... I would say this is most pumped I have been for a Chiefs game since the 2005 season..

It seems like the plan was to build up to take over the division. They knew they couldn't beat Manning in year 1 or 2 but now they have a team with confidence, more leaders and full knowledge of the system.

If we win tonight, we're taking over the divison IMO

ReynardMuldrake 09-17-2015 01:05 PM

9. First time I've really looked forward to playing Peyton.

Im pretty amped up about it. They've gotta rape faces though, man. The Nation is expecting the Chiefs to break Manning in half.

If the Chiefs break Manning, we'll get to hear about how Manning is finished.

If the Chiefs lose, then we'll hear about how the Chiefs are frauds.

A lot at stake here.

ClevelandBronco 09-17-2015 01:08 PM

The Chiefs are going to have win a couple of these before they'll return to being amp worthy.

Old Dog 09-17-2015 01:10 PM

Voted "4", but not at all really. It's not even just THIS game, but the season and NFL entirely. I had one of my buddies call last night and asked me to go with as one of the guys that was supposed to be going wasn't going to be able to get off work and I told him I wasn't interested.
In the past, I was one of the first (often the first) vehicles in line well before gate 2 opened. Sunday, I played golf and missed a good part of the first half.

I WANT to be interested, I just can't seem to give a damn.

Right on, man. I'm glad you're getting some kind of enjoyment out of this team again. I hope they don't let us down tonight. 7 for me. Which is big for a week 2 game in my eyes. We get to set the tone, or play catch up again depending on what we do here. If we win this game, I'll be at a 9 come the pile high game. It's going to take a playoff win for me to get to 10 or spinal tap mode. I'm as optimistic as I've been in a long time, but make no mistake I'll never buy in until they prove capable of winning in the playoffs. Something they haven't done since I was 16 years old.

KCUnited 09-17-2015 01:18 PM

I'm back in our KC office this week for the first time since I've moved. Being here and seeing the excitement around town has raised my excitement level.

InChiefsHeaven 09-17-2015 01:18 PM

I was pretty amped back in 2005, then it all went to hell, then the Colts game in 2013 I was amped...that took a few days to recover from...

...Im pumped as hell for this game, but if we lose...uuuuuuuhhhhhhgggggg.....

I WANT MANNING'S FIVEHEAD ON A ****IN' STICK!!

I CAN FEEL IT!! :banghead:

chiefsfan1963 09-17-2015 01:22 PM

Tough schedule this year for chiefs in 2015. First 3 games Texans, Broncos, Packers. First 6 games chiefs have 4 away games. Chiefs lose 1 home game b/c they are forced to go to London instead. Chiefs and the Hunt Family get no RESPECT!

IF Chiefs make the playoffs this year, Given their schedule , they should finally get the 22 year monkey off their backs and win a playoff game and most likely get in the AFC title game. Go Chiefs!

seclark 09-17-2015 01:26 PM

7
kind of amped...think we should win, but all this shit i'm hearing about manning being done and how our d is going to bitch-slap him around...i'm quietly afraid it's a trap.

8.

The majority of you don't have to walk around and deal with these Donkey turds deepthroating their team if the Chiefs lose...

In the back of my mind, I know I'm going to get shit on at work/around town if the Chiefs fail to show up.....AGAIN.

el borracho 09-17-2015 01:31 PM

At the risk of a giant pile-on...

Let me know when the Chiefs are in the playoffs with a top 3 defense. Barring that, I'm not interested in an Alex Smith team.

Remember... he asked.

Nzoner 09-17-2015 01:34 PM

I'm at 8,even pulled out my throwback #58 DT jersey in hopes that our D can look like it did back then. Can't wait to get to the bar in a couple of hours.

MTG#10 09-17-2015 01:38 PM

We're gonna need gimmick plays and misdirection to move the ball at all on their D. I doubt our offense gains over 200 yards, field position and our D forcing turnovers is the only chance we'll have.

bevischief 09-17-2015 01:39 PM

8. Can't wait to see how this ends.

suzzer99 09-17-2015 02:02 PM

Why the hell can't the Royals be a day game (on a travel day no less) so they don't have to compete with Chiefs. Dumb.

Not even. We gave up almost 400 yards to the Brian Hoyer and Ryan Mallett led Texans. Denver's D will most likely be top 3 at the end of the year. Ours might be top 10 but it will be close.

RealSNR 09-17-2015 02:08 PM

More nervous than amped up.

But definitely high energy. I could probably run for president and do okay /topical humor

Ming the Merciless 09-17-2015 02:13 PM

Very.

this game will tell us a lot about our team.

If we win....it will energize this team even more. This game is pivotal because if we can't beat DEN at KC, how can we beat them in their own house? If we split the series with them, it sets us up to have a solid chance to win the division. If we lose, I think it would ripple through the next two games...which are both very tough road games.....and there would be a good chance we would go 1-3.

So yes...for a second game of the season....this game is massive..imo

The second half has nothing to do with the talent of the defense. That was coaching.

Yeah, a lot of red in the office and out at lunch, and I have Royal blue on... didn't even think about it this morning. At least they're both playing tonight since RedZone will be no help with all the commercials.

It's like the Pats game last year... pretty 'meh', but seeing Arrowhead under the lights is always fun, and of course the result helped.

dirk digler 09-17-2015 02:49 PM

I have seen Peyton embarrass us to many times to get excited. Though I think tonight I am more worried about Denver's D than their offense. I think tonight will be a much bigger test for the O-line than Houston was.

Yeah, this is pretty much it.
I've been burned too many times by Peyton to consider any game against him a victory.

The Franchise 09-17-2015 03:00 PM

Denver at Kansas City

Remember Week 4 last year? Patriots at Chiefs on Monday night? I was there and I can tell you there were few game day environments I've ever seen like that one. The Chiefs pummeled the Patriots and the questions kept coming. Is Brady done? Are the Patriots in trouble? Is this the beginning of the end? Rewrite that entire script this week for Peyton Manning and the Broncos. I see this one getting ugly early with Dontari Poe, Justin Houston and Tamba Hali abusing that porous Broncos offensive line, and Peyton Manning being under duress from go. Chiefs win big and we endure a week of hearing Brock Osweiler's name.

The Pick: Chiefs 33, Broncos 13

I was more amped up about the "Eric Berry Appreciation Night". Then the kickoff happened.

Yeah, I'm just tired losing to him. I'd be more amped if I was spending the night with that girl in your avatar. In that case, even if I was disappointed, something good would come of it. Losing to Peyton is getting old and nothing good ever comes of it.

JakeLV 09-17-2015 03:10 PM

I initially put an 11.

As it gets closer, a sense of dread is coming over me.

siberian khatru 09-17-2015 03:11 PM

I want to win because I'm tired of losing to Manning. But ever since the 2013 playoff collapse, I just don't invest much in regular season game anymore. We've proved time and again that gaudy records and home-field advantage in the playoffs don't mean shit, nor do huge leads in the second half of playoff games.

Until we actually prove we can win a playoff game, I just don't get too worked up by regular-season wins or losses anymore.

I think we're gonna kick their donkey loving asses, but I'm trying to be cautious because Peyton has tore my heart out enough times for me to be careful not to get too excited about a possible victory.

HemiEd 09-17-2015 03:19 PM

9, I didn't think after all these years of failure I would feel this way again, but it runs too deep.

I would really like to see Peyton cry like a bitch similar to Ray Lewis a few years ago.
