Sell me on Alex smith
I will admit, i do not know much of alex smith, not even when he was coming out of college. i do know that all i've heard out of San Fran for the past few years is how terrible Alex smith is until last year when he had (what it looks from the outside) a cassel 2010 type of season where he played game manager style football and relied on his defense.
Now I'm reading all sorts of reeruned bits about actually trading draft picks for him and skipping out on drafting a first round qb this year. Is Alex smith just a game manager qb with a good coach in harbaugh? Why does harbaugh start keepernick over smith if he is so good? I'm not buying it. For the first time in a long time we have our choice of the best qb in the draft (geno). We take him. |

There is nothing to sell on Alex Smith.
|
No.
|
No thank you
|
Is there rule that states that the Chiefs are the only team not allowed to draft and develop their QB? JFC
|
Alex Smith would be a good QB for KC
|
|
Sell you on Alex Smith???
http://cf.drafthouse.com/_uploads/ga...poleon-d-4.jpg I can't do it....... I can't do it. |
Dude had the game of his life against a crappy N.O. Defense in the playoffs last year. That is the one and only highlight of his career. Let' develop a QB.Please.

I would have considered it last year if Harbaugh came as part of the deal (of course using hindsight to know that Harbaugh is actually a pretty damn fine coach).
Now that we have the #1 overall pick there is nothing to sell on Alex Smith. He's worthless. Some chumped up franchise like Buffalo can have him when all the good QBs get taken in the draft |
Has anyone seen KC taking a QB in any mock drafts? I sure haven't, all I see is LB from Notre Dame

The reeruned fan base rule of will only be good if we have a QB that was a former 49er and a first round linebacker. Jesus H. Stop Dancing Christ! This is going to be the 1990 Chiefs. We are going to pick up Steve DeBerg (Alex Smith) and use our first round draft pick on linebacker Percy Snow (Manti Te'o). DEJA VU!!!!! |
He got swag :fire:
|
I believe Alex Smith leads all NFL QBs in rating this year.
If we can get Harbaugh to join Smith here, then do it. If not, don't. |

The two best online mock drafts in the biz (Scott Wright's and Walter's) both have us taking Geno. |

Well, I knew a lot of people are anti Alex smith like myself, where are all of you people wanting him?

Hed make a fine backup QB.

There is a good site that you can go to and see for your ****ing self. It's called hailredskins mock draft database.
Every mock updated since mid Dec has Geno one. Hell I would say 90 percent of all have Geno one Posted via Mobile Device |
He's not Matt Cassell or Brady Quinn

Alex Smith is my ideal backup. Seriously.
|
Alex Smith looks kinda like Ryan Gosling, so there's that.
|
Sell me on Alex smith
Sorry, I can't.
No wait, a good back up. |

Sorry man can't do it

Alex smith isn't happy in his backup role. Do you think he would be a good locker room addition when he's pissed that he's getting the bench over a rookie?
Or would it create good competition? I'd rather have a veteran mentor type of qb to help groom geno. |
He fits the Chiefs way

Alex Smith can **** himself.

We'll trade you Matt Leinart for a mid round pick and a copy of Score and/or Voluptuous magazine.

Alex Smith at some angles and with his helmet on, looks kind of sort of like Aaron Rodgers.
SOLD |
Rather try selling drugs to a cop
|
He's just like Geno Smith.....sold now?

aaron murray passed for over 400 yds yesterday

He's been a pretty good QB in a pro-style offense. Def top 3 QB's of this year's draft behind Wilson and L.Jones |

While my conclusion is that most of Chiefsplanet is not incredibly stupid, I supposed I'm glad to see that not a single person can justify bringing in Alex Smith.

Once you get that flop Geno in here, you will be begging for Alex to come save you. |

No, Hell No.
Why the **** would we wanna sell you on Alex Smith? WTF man, i log into CP this morning and this is the first thread i see? Way to **** up my morning. |
I didn't think Alex Smith was good even when he was good.
Rather see the Chiefs pull a Shanahan and draft two QB's. |

why would we sell you on a guy that you can't sell?
Alex Smith would rate somewhere between Cassle(Awful) and Green (Acceptable) |
why do you want to be sold on alex smith?
You don't need to be sold on him, he isn't coming here, god help us |
He always sucked. Insert Harbaugh and he improved. Harbaugh drafted a different QB and Smith is now expendable. NO THANKS
|
Sell Alex Smith?
He sucks less than Brady Cassel?
|
Jesus Christ people. I think Alex Smith is Matt Cassel.
I'm reading morons all over facebook and twitter that we should bring him in and I think it is an incredibly stupid idea. I wanted someone with this mindset to try and write out a justifiable reason for even thinking this way.... CoMo, etc? Don't neg rep me for it. I AM ANTI ALEX SMITH, but I'm curious why the tards think we need to bring him in, because I admit I don't know much about the guy except for what I've seen in the media. |

Holy Jesus, how did I miss this thread?
Sell you on Alex Smith? That's like the Sioux saying, "sell me on smallpox." |

The point is, nobody can step up to the plate and sell Alex Smith... so all these idiots that are talking about bringing him in need to STFU and get on the Geno train. I am NOT promoting Alex Smith. |
Makes good decisions. Experienced. Natural leader. Won't chuck it downfield but won't give up to many turnovers either. Andy Reid could definitely turn him into a playoff winning qb.

This thread backfired on me...
**** it. :cuss: |
If you have Smith you can afford to take a guy like Bray or maybe somebody else in the third or fourth that needs more seasoning. We probably wouldn't have to give up our first overall for him so we could draft Star or Teo and kill two birds with one shot.
Have I sold you yet? |

Forget QBr, forget that he's a good teammate, forget that he's coachable.
Do you want Alex Smith as your QB on a game deciding drive? Can he win you a game? The answer is no, he can not. |

We also know he looks good in red (Niners & Utes)

Here is a fun fact. Matt Cassel for his career has a QBr of 80.4, Alex Smith for his career...79.1
Still wanna read into QBr stats? |
Quote:
2) By trading for Smith, you give up at least a 2nd or 3rd round pick (possibly both) and give up the opportunity to snag a quality player who is cheaper and younger. 3) The gap between Star Lutuli and Jon Hankins, Sheldon Richardson, Shariff Floyd, John Jenkins, Jesse Williams is no bigger than the gap between Geno Smith and Glennon, Barkley, etc. In fact, it's probably smaller. 4) Manti Te'o plays a non-impact position, is a below-average NFL athlete, and provides very little OVER the ILBs available in rounds 2-4. 5) Alex Smith just isn't that good. (Look at QB rating, and the way his coach regards him). So, no, I am not sold. |
