No. Either word is appropriate.

Enjoy your birds.

You may be correct. However, they would have to incorporate the word 'y'all' in the sentence.

'Y'all dived fer that there ball, didn'tcha?'

Y'all is singular, by the way.

The plural form of 'y'all' is 'all y'all.'

I could understand some confusion over 'hung' and 'hanged', depending on the circumstance, but 'dove' and 'dived'?

DMAC 08-05-2011 10:14 PM

To bad theyres not an Gaz option.

pr_capone 08-05-2011 10:14 PM

from the source mother bitches

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/dived

Both dived and dove are standard as the past tense of dive. Dived, historically the older form, is somewhat more common in edited writing, but dove occurs there so frequently that it also must be considered standard: The rescuer dove into 20 feet of icy water. Dove is an Americanism that probably developed by analogy with alternations like drive, drove and ride, rode.

/still likes dove better
