Awesome night tonight...I had some drinks with a former Chief.
Tonight I went to a place called Ebbet's Field in Springfield. I went with a couple friends and had a few drinks. As I was sitting there I though I recognized a guy that walked in with another guy. I remembered when I worked at the Blue Springs Country Club he was a former Chiefs and came in as a celebrity type guest. I went over and started talking to him and he was Willie White who is a former Chiefs and a Chiefs ambassador. It was such a cool experience. I told him I was from KC and the guy he was with was from Blue Springs. He was in town for a golf tournament type thing. We were talking Chiefs football and he offered me entrance to the "Ambassadors Tent" in Arrowhead to any home games I go to this year. Open Bar...live band and a ton of Chiefs players to meet and talk to. It was such a cool experience talking Chiefs football and just shooting the shit with this guy. He was incredibly nice and was really enjoyable to hang out with. He told me about some of the personalities of the different players that he has met. I can't wait till I go to another home game to check out this whole Ambassadors deal.
The guy bought me tons of drinks and we had an awesome time hanging out. I told him about 37Forever and my intentions to try and get it started in Springfield along with some other Planateers and I think we may be able to swing some support from former Chiefs Players from thsi venture from this meeting. Awesome time with a guy that makes me proud to be a Chiefs fan. I just thought you folks would like to know about this. |

Sweet. Walter has always been nice to me the few moments I've spent with him...
He introduced me to Jan last year - that was very cool. |
Did he hit on you like he did Phil?
|
Well here might as well edit this, I thought you were talking about the safety that played in the mid-90's... I guess I'm an idiot. That's still pretty awesome though.

He was sooo nice. You could tell how much he cared about the Chiefs as an organization. It was so cool to connect with someoen like that away from Kansas City.

It was fun hanging out and talking Chiefs stuff but the idea of him helping get 37Forevger off the ground in Springtown was the best part.

I was a fan of Walter White back in the day. He was one of the few bright spots on some pretty weak teams.

Walter White is a very cool dude. I met him as a kid back in '77 before a Raiders game. He signed a Chiefs helmut that I had. I met him again in 1990 before the Broncos-Chiefs game in the KCTV 5 Suite, along with Henry Marshall (another really nice guy).
