The Sun-Sentinel reports the Kansas City Chiefs appear to have interest in trading for Miami Dolphins DT Jeff Zgonina, according to a source.

I guess he would be good in the rotation but the Chiefs better not use anything higher than a 6th to get him.

Great. We need to start working on the DT position...

they will have some competition for his services.
Rams want him as well.
It may come down to Martz vs. Vermeil.

Well at least he should provide some competition aganist this lazy Sims guy.

Color me ambivalent.

'phins have been looking to move Zgonina for a while. He's solid inside against the run, but certainly nothing special overall.

I think we also tried for him a couple years ago when has was a fa. He was old then and has to be 50 by now.

I havent followed the guy since he left St Louis the first time. I never really thought of him as anything all that great.

The Chiefs D-line has probably the most depth on the team. If they do trade for the Z-man, they should cut one of the other D-linemen so they arent just wasting cap space on the d-line where we have like 9 guys already.

Will Vermiel ever stop trying to Ramzify the Chiefs?

This is just another clod for Vermiel to be too loyal to.

They should offer no more than a conditional 7th round pick.

Zgonina is a run stuffer and gets good pressure (5 sacks last season) but he is older. If it were a cheap draft pick, I think Z would work well in our rotation.

the Chiefs & Fins trying to work a trade for Surtain & Zgonina's name gets thrown in. Newspaper in Fin land tries to make news out of it.....

I heard that since Miami was saying they wanted more for Surtain we offered a 2nd and 4th for Surtain and Zgonina.
