Local Football Star Is Ready for the NFL
Canton
Brock Spencer

One of Canton’s best football players signed a three-year contract with the Kansas City Chiefs on Thursday.

Boomer Grigsby, a former Illinois State University football player, is getting ready for his first training camp in two weeks.

Boomer’s mom said she is excited to see her son in a Chiefs uniform.

Boomer was drafted in the fifth round by the Chiefs and hopes to become the team’s middle linebacker.

Not the most credible source but hey *shrugs*, just saw it.

ROFL

Who are those two guys in Scanlon jerseys? And what are they doing with no pants on?

Iowanian 07-14-2005 10:15 PM

I have excellent reasons why I will be unable to make it to watch TC.

I'm just excited to see someone with Grigsby's energy on the Field in Chiefs Red.....Bell, Surtain, Johnson, Knight also intrigue me.....

I just have visions of that MLB from "the replacements" dancing in my head.

SoCalBronco 07-15-2005 12:12 AM

There is a guy on our board who played against him and against Edgerton Hartwell in college and said Boomer is much better and is very underrated. We'll see what he does for the Chiefs.

alanm 07-15-2005 12:18 AM

I've a question. Has any of the #1 picks signed yet? It seems like everyone is waiting for someone to make a move. At this rate none of them will make it to camp on time. :cuss: :banghead: :cuss:

Well royIII can rest easy now, someone has signed.

"What color is this jersey?"

"Red"

"It means no hitting"

"Sorry, Trent, I see red and I get all excited. Makes me just want to charge"

"You and god damned rodney harrison"

But I did like that MLB's attitude in that movie, makes you scared of him, kinda like butkus or niski or however you spell it.

Hey, right now I'd take Scanlon or Grigsby at MLB over Ka-whiff-ka...

We should let 'em armwrestle for it or something...

Let's do it roman gladiator style.

Lock em in a room and fight it out. The one who makes it out wins. There's no way Kawika wins, he won't hit anyone.

Unless we put a blocker in the room with him.

royr17 07-15-2005 03:40 AM

If anybody else except Mitchell will be the new MLB then it'll be Scanlon cause he knows the system more then Grigsby cause he's been in it for a year.

Gravedigger 07-15-2005 03:48 AM

Everything is falling into place now we only need DJ and the circle will be complete mwahahahah

We're quite aware that you never quit believing.

Probably because you never quit talking about it either.

His boyfriend wont let him play his kind of music, so it makes him a bit cranky... or its just that rockstar attitude he has been nurturing.

KCTitus 07-15-2005 06:28 AM

Yeah, that's it.

Actually, it has to do with the ever-increasing amount of dumbassery on the Planet. Scanlon-gate was the last straw for me.

CHIEF4EVER 07-15-2005 08:34 AM

Grigsby couldn't hold Scanlon's jock strap. Heck, just yesterday Scanlon suited up and did a personal workout on I-70 tackling oncoming Semis. Has Grigsby ever done that? Huh? :p

eazyb81 07-15-2005 08:37 AM

Ben Maller hasn't reported the Boomer signing yet, so color me skeptical.

PastorMikH 07-15-2005 08:39 AM

A three year contract means he's going to be every bit as good as the coaching staff is speculating. Then, when we have one of the best young MLBs in the league, his contract will be up and he will end up leaving us for a huge contract elsewhere.

Nonsense, we only draft tweeners and projects. He'll be here for the long haul.
