Just Saw The Aristocrats

What a funny movie. Tons of laughs from unexpected sources.

It's a documentary about the 'worlds dirtiest joke' which is an inside joke that comedians tell to each other. It's all in the delivery how crass, gross, suggestive, offensive, racist and so on they tell the joke the better.

Cartman Tells The Joke

Needless to say if you are easily offended don't go see this movie. I saw 5-7 people walk out 15 min into the movie.

I usually avoid any reviews/clips of movies, if it's one I think I will enjoy. In this case, I'm concerned that hearing the joke before hand will hurt the movie experience.

So, should I click on the Cartman one? I'm sorely tempted.

You'll see it in the movie so if you want to just wait, that being said I don't think it would ruin the film, as you see many different variations of it.

Cartman's is one of the funnier versions.

Haha, what the **** were they expecting?

I definitely want to catch this flick, but it's only showing at one theater in the area.

Love wikipedia. Good dirty joke.

AMC is NOT gonna show this movie. You have to dig for it. Heard Keanu Reeves liked this movie.

DrNick 08-23-2005 11:40 PM

I would really like to see this movie....but can't find anywhere that's playing it. :banghead:

Ninjaman 08-24-2005 12:02 AM

I desire to see this film.

FloridaChief 08-24-2005 02:24 AM

This thread is like a hot knife in the chest for me. I've been waiting 3 months to see this flick and, as of yet, not one goddamned theater in central Florida is showing it.

Just like to thank AMC--the 'Clear Channel' of movie theater chains--for knowing it's in my best interest not to be subjected to celluloid filth. These are certainly choices I'm not qualifed to make for myself.

Great desire to see this movie have I.

Swanman 08-24-2005 06:47 AM

I haven't seen the movie, but I heard Bob Saget's version of the joke was possibly the dirtiest of them all.

As much as I would like to tell you the pass was used, sadly it wasn't.

The movie opens on the 26th, I got to see a preview of it so there is still a chance it will be showing in your area unless of course it's in AMC country.

Bob Sagat's is probably the dirtiest one. Carlins is rather funny too.

Just listened to the Cartman version and read the Sagget version.
Wow.
Not my cup of tea and I'll drink just about anything.

When I think "joke" I think funny, not a 1st grade game of gross-out. I just don't see the humor.

[amc] Now, if you soul-less, filthy, hell-bound, humourless reeruns want to see the movie I'm all for letting you. [/amc] ;)

Where did you read it?

AustinChief 08-24-2005 01:01 PM

Here is an excerpt from a letter from Penn Gillette about the movie...
Quote:

Michael Moore and Mel Gibson are the same person, except for a few sit-ups. Moore thought his cheesy political blooper reel was going to tell people how to vote. Mel thought that his little gay S&M movie about his imaginary friend was going to help him get to heaven. George W. Bush is president and there’s still no god. You failed boys. Someone should have told Mike that the bad guys are smarter than him and someone should have told Mel that the Three Stooges were Jewish.

Nick, I'm still monitoring the regional houses in hopes that one of them will have the guts to screen it. If I hear anything, I'll post it here.

I saw one couple walk out after they'd already been there well over an hour. What the fuck took so long? Did they think it was going to suddenly get cleaner?

Yep. It opened here Friday night. God, funny stuff. Had a couple walkouts during the screening I attended but for the most part, everyone seemed to know what they were getting into. Bob Saget is a nasty motherfucker.

Sorry for the thread bump, but this movie is up on alluc.org. I completely missed this thread and all mention of this movie when it came out. I loved it.

I especially enjoyed Martin Mull's version.
