Will the Chiefs play Sunday?

All of the predictions is that Hurricane Wilma is going to hit South Flordia sometime late Saturday or Sunday. The latest prediction is around 2pm Sunday.

Should be interesting maybe they will move the game to Monday night or have a Sunday night doubleheader.

Hey, we'll let 'em wear their white jerseys and everything.

Mr. Kotter 10-17-2005 09:05 PM

More than likely--they'd postpone it; maybe to Monday, though I doubt it.

I'd bet they keep it in state: maybe move it North.....and Saturday afternoon....say in Tampa? :hmmm:

...and Wilma will probably follow them there.

Kinda hard to tell where this thing will be going exactly. I think we all may know the answer by mid-week to Friday.

Ehhh... it's supposed to track to somewhere on the Gulf coast side of Florida, so Tampa is more than likely out, but there's still a long way to go to see where it heads. If it hit up near Tampa or north they might be able to get the game in normally, with some rain showers maybe.... who knows.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. If they keep it in the South....they'd postpone, and hope it was gone by Monday night....not likely, so postponed to when? I don't know.

Otherwise, Saturday in Tampa and/or Jacksonville sounds like a possibility.....unless the storm track changes.

Hell, just move it to ARROWHEAD....damn it! :p

Hammock Parties 10-17-2005 09:09 PM

Getting the game in KC would be some kind of treat.

Deberg_1990 10-17-2005 09:09 PM

Waaay too early yet to make a determination. My best guess they will make a desicion on Thursday. I would think it would be moved to Saturday. Didnt they do that last year with Tennesee/Miami?

There was just a top story on Yahoo within the last hour that said New Orleans may have to evacuate again due to the possible hurricane threat. So not ALL of them are saying south florida is "it" yet.

This is from the story that's on the front of yahoo now:

Some computer models had Wilma heading west to Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula by Friday, while others showed it curving north into the Gulf of Mexico and northeastward toward Florida over the weekend. However, such models typically have large errors this far in advance.

Just to soon to tell.

Hurricanes feed off of and generally move where the warmer waters are. The waters off of Florida are warmer than anywhere else in the Gulf at the moment.

I agree but it does make for interesting scenario for the Chiefs.

Well, if there's any chance of moving it up to Saturday, DV had better hustle up and deactivate Warfield.

And the Mayor of NO told the city today to be on alert.....

I highly doubt the league would move the game to KC and take away another home game from another NFL team. Chances are if it did head towards Miami they would move the time and day and a lot of us not in KC or Miami would probably not have it televised in our area.

RINGLEADER 10-17-2005 11:36 PM

I say we play Monday night if this thing moves...if it heads toward Miami it's going to start hitting Saturday afternoon and won't leave the region until Monday afternoon...that would suck if they make the Chiefs go down there ahead of time (which they would) just so they can be in a hurricane...

NO! They better show it in Hays, or Medicine Lodge, if this thing actually does move to the Florida areas and they move the game to Saturday! Man I will be pissed.
