Patting myself on the back...

Okay, I know there are several of you who think I'm stupid for sharing personal stuff on here, but I am just really pleased with myself tonight. There is a guy at work who I have kinda of had an interest in for a very long time. We had an extended lunch (due to the holiday) tonight. We have to take a HIPAA test (health insurance portability and accountability act) since we work with priviledged health information. It's a take home test, and we are able to dicuss answers among others. He had asked if I minded if we got together to go over some answers. I sat down with him during the extra time at lunch to do this. We ended up talking about plans for the weekend, where we were from, etc, etc, etc. Before he left work tonight, I gave him a note (so high school-ish, I know) saying that I enjoyed talking with him, and that, if he wanted to, he could give me a call sometime. I included my phone number in the note.

I know this sounds pretty trivial to most people. I am EXTREMELY shy around guys. Especially if I'm interested. The fact that I didn't get completely tongue-tied while talking to him (maybe once or twice), and that I gave him my number, are HUGE steps for me. I just wanted to share my accomplishment.

Awwww I'm so happy for you. :)

Boys like girls that exude self confidence.

Even if we have to fake it for the first few weeks ;)

Im a big fan of the shy women, because I myself am a shy person. But good for you. Those are big steps for me as well. If you aint shy you aint cool.:thumb: Of course when Im drunk its a different story. Its funny when Im drunk cause I talk to everyone and then when Im sober and they see me their like Sup Sean? and I have no idea who they are.

I was thinking 1q 2004, but I don't know that much about HIPAA (of 1996...lol). There are several things that they left out because it didn't apply to our company. We are not full service release of information. We get the charts from the hospitals and do release of information back to the hospital when they have that patient come in, if we haven't already got it scanned. That would make us a Business Associate, though. :)

There are several things wrong with this scenario.
1. You can share personal info on the 'net. Who cares? As long as it isn't your phone number and address, what are we gonna do, give you some shit? Heh. We are going to give you shit, but it won't hurt you.
2. Don't shit where you eat. Don't date at work, especially as one in authority. This will end badly no matter how you slice it. BTDT.

Congratulations for being forward. As a dude, I can appreciate that. However, if he didn't stick his tongue down your throat when you gave him a note, he's not interested.

In any case, best of luck and happy Holidays.

I thought of the work thing. I know there could be negative consequences. I'm not one to ever take risks. I guess I just decided to take one and see what happens.

And I won't be surprised if he's not into me. I usually bat .000 where guys are concerned. So I won't be disappointed if nothing happens (well, maybe a little).

Happy Thanksgiving.

I think I'm my true me. Only without reservations. I have an outgoing personality. When I drink, I just bypass the initial shyness.

so, so, so wrong.

most of us have learned to take a little time and not give in to every impulse.

that would just be creepy, I hope you're joking.

I don't know where you work, but don't worry about the job/relationship thing. Take a chance.

How long do we stay at one job anyway?
