What's on your plate this Thanksgiving?

Are you a conformist and have the standard fare, or are you a rebel and order out Chinese?

Since there have been no Rain Man sightings thus far today, I'll make it a poll. Go ahead and start eating, this could take awhile since I type blindfolded with one hand.

CHIEF4EVER 11-24-2005 11:11 AM

Fried turkey, mashed taters and gravy, a homebrewed Weizenbier or 2 and pumpkin pie.

I don't think I've ever tried the fried turkey. Sounds good.

You need to get a turkey fryer. It gives the guys a reason to hang around outside drinking beer, plus it has the potential to destroy half the neighborhood. What more could you want?

I can accomplish all of this without a turkey fryer, to be sure.

But I DO like the way you think.....

Right after you eat your first fried turkey you will come to the realization that you will never eat it any other way. The turkey is preinjected with marinade and then fried in Peanut Oil. The hot oil sears the inside and outside of the turkey keeping the juices in the meat and it doesn't taste oily either.

My wife, ever the nutritional purist, did a search to see what the first pilgrims had for Thanksgiving. Our dinner is a mix of that and the more traditional fare, at my insistence...

I QB'd a drive this year at our annual Turkey Bowl.

I feel good!

SCTrojan 11-24-2005 02:20 PM

We're pretty traditional here. Turkey, mashed potatoes, corn casserole, and, of course, you have to have both apple and pumpkin pie.

None of the above. I had a thick and juicy steak, corn on the cob, and baked beans over at dad's. But it was just the two of us.

Oops. Just noticed that steak was listed. My bad.
