Didn't need to see stats to realize how awful they were.
|
Main reason we didn't make the playoffs = these fucking assclowns - Allen
:# |
2006 D Line
John Abraham Ryan Simms Browning Jared Allen |
John Abraham?
Yeah, that's the ticket...let's get killed in run defense. |
I'd prefer to draft a DE over picking up Abraham, his attitude, and his salary.

Where is Vlad? |
Are we going to bet another season that Ryan Sims becomes a good player? Are Sims, Hicks, and Browning worth their cap numbers?
|
You have to keep in mind that pressures aren't an official stat and teams usually inflate those numbers a bit. In years past the Chiefs used to really bump up the pressures.
|
We already have Allen, there's no need to add Abraham too.
Hicks is serviceable against the run. What we really need is a dominating DT to line up beside Sims. |

I'm willing to see how Ryan does next year if he can stay healthy. Since he basicly missed the season this year you can't really make a judgement on him. He had to sit around most of the season with the bum foot and didn't really have the time to get back to the shape he was in that first game. Since he kept his weight down during the injury I am willing to see if he will continue to give the effort he did during training camp this season.
As for Siavii, I hope our new HC and DL coach can kick some drive into his lazy butt. However, what I really want is a good DT draft pick or FA pickup. We need help in the DL. We could really use a DT and a DE to compliment Allen. |
Browning is a descent player, but he really didn't do much last year-time for a change. I mean 19 sacks for the whole group-take out Allen's numbers and you get 8 sacks for 16 games. I would like to see all of them gone.

Siavii is a bust of monstrous proportions. He's not even young, either. Maybe the worst draft pick ever.
|
Quote:
Yeah, but in years past, we actually did pressure the quarterback.... |
Please, please, please let the Chiefs find talented Dline players this offseason making Hicks and Browning obsolete.
|
Quote:
They have been obsolete for years. |
Quote:
If you wanna argue that he'll cost to much, that's probably likely. Atttitude. eh, I can deal with an attitude from a guy who's a top 5 DE when he's on. |
Quote:
I want my DTs to stop the run, and my DE's to get to the QB. I think we have to give Sims another year as a starter. While Hicks might be solid, he's old and has no up side. There is not a DT who is a Free Agent who will be a huge updgrade. We are not going to be able to get a top DT in the draft, and heck our history drafting that position sucks ass. So where else can we improve on Defense? DE oppisite of Allen, and at FS. |

We'll get killed if we have Allen and Abraham on the D-line. |

I think Grady Jackson's Huge Ass next to Sims huge ass would be nice.

Are you saying if Kiwanuka is on the board at our pick, you wouldn't pick him?
|
Quote:
Edit: I guess maybe I'd be in favor of drafting him. He probably wouldn't be an every-down defensive end, and he'd cost less than Abraham of course. |
Quote:
The fact that you'd pass on a player like Kiwanuka because you feel we must have this other position, is how you have bad drafts. I guess you don't want Julius Peppers either cause we already have our "speed rusher" I'm glad you aren't a GM with logic like this. |
ROFL
OK I was wrong. But John Abraham isn't the answer. He'd demand every-down type money and would not be suited for the role. |
You're basing far to much off of his size than his talent........Dwight Freeney plays every day, Simeon Rice plays every down. Jason Taylor, Jevon Kearse, if you wanna tell me Abraham is to expensive that's a legit arguement.
But to say "we don't need him cause we have Allen" is simply stupid in my view. Hell, maybe we should switch to a cover 2, the few good players on D we have could play in it. |
Quote:
|
Mitchell, Johnson, Fox, Allen. They can play in a cover 2.....so that would also allow us to dump the Barber and Bell contracts. We'd need a new FS but we need that anyway.
We probably won't switch to cover 2 but it probably would have been a good idea when you look at our personel. |

He's another guy that is being utilized in the wrong position. He's 280 lbs, and they have him in the DT rotation? That's just rediculous. Move him over to Hicks spot. He's younger, quicker and faster. My money says he'd be far more productive. |
Adios Dalton.
|
If Tamba Hali was still there when we picked I think we'd be foolish not to take him. Anyone who's seen any PSU games this year can tell you he is a factor on just about every passing play. It's been a while since I've seen one guy consistently create so much havoc. He lives in the other teams backfield. Also, I believe he plays opposite Jared Allen (LDE).
Also, Browning is at the tail end of his career. However, he has not been obsolete for years. IMO, if he had been allowed to play his best position, DE, for his entire career he may have established himself quite nicely. He has consistently been our best defensive lineman over the past few years. Unfortunately for him, because the defense could plug him in anywhere that he was needed most and be able to count on him doing his usual steady job, he never got the chance to excel. If he had played alongside other decent players he would have had a very nice career for the chiefs, IMO. |
If you draft Kiwi planning that he will gain 40 pounds, then you might as well pencil him as a 4-year project at DT, rather than DE.
|
Why would anyone think Kiwanuka is going to gain 40lbs? Why would anyone think Kiwanuka would gain 40lbs and still be an effective DE? He's a speed rusher.

Any thoughts on the Raven's DT who's gonna be a free agent; reminds me of a young Ted Washington--looked pretty good the times I saw him this last year....if nothing else, you gotta love the potential of his name. Heh.

Kiwi is a speed rusher that happens to be 6'7" tall. He's gonna play at 260 lbs. or thereabouts. Try to put weight on him and you turn him into a guy that basically nullified his one gift - speed rushing. |
We need a Great Big Fat Guy at DT with a few years under his belt.
Junior may one day develop into the Fat Guy of the Future that we all hoped he would be -- but I very seriously doubt it will be with the Chiefs if it happens. Sims is meant to be the explosive DT -- but those only work when there is a Great Big Fat Guy next to them. Browning and Wilkerson are both listed under 300 lbs. Frankly, I would rather pick up a reliable FA Fat Guy. Here are FA's (from http://www.kffl.com/forums/showthrea...hreadid=149256): DT’s UFA’s 1)Larry Tripplet Ind 2)Maa’ke Kemeatu Bal 3)Ron Edwards Atl 4)Grady Jackson GB 5)Ryan Pickett Stl 6)Damione Lewis Stl 7)Lional Dalton KC 8)Chris Hovan TB 9)Willie Whitehead NO 10)Monsanto Pope Den 11)Edward Jasper Oak 12)Justin Bannan Buf 13)Kendrick Clancy NYG 14)Rob Meier Jax 15)Langston Moore Cin 16)Cedric Killings 17)Rocky Bernard 18)Travis Hall Sf RFA’s 1)Jordan Cartsens Car 2)Kindal Moorehead Car 3)Terdell Sands Oak |

Lewis and Hovan, under the right circumstances with some coaching, might also be worth considering...

I mean, we haven't had great luck in the draft; and DT doesn't seem to be a real good position in this year's draft from what I'm seeing.... :hmmm: |

There are some good prospects. Haloti Ngata, Roderick Wright, Gabe Watson, Claude Wroten, Broderick Bunkley |
i dont like this crop at all..say just that one guy haganati..or hoever u spel it...the rest seem like reaches..not a good year at all....jmo...
