How would the Chiefs have fared against the Steelers?

I think it would be an interesting matchup.

1st of all, I think our offensive line and T-Rich could handle their front seven.

Obviously LJ would have to be removed on passing downs. ROFL

On the flipside, we'd probably struggle with Willie Parker's speed and their offensive line. Heath Miller is a matchup nightmare, too.

ferrarispider95 02-05-2006 11:29 PM

If you talking about the Steelers in the superbowl, we would fair nicely. I think we could pass on them, given we keep trich in for blocking.

We would get burned on the trick play, and roth would have plenty of time to pass.

Logical 02-05-2006 11:30 PM

I think they would have lost, but played a close game. Higher score though for both teams.

Wa-Z 02-05-2006 11:31 PM

We'll find out next season! :)

greg63 02-05-2006 11:31 PM

Ummm, I don't know.

Hammock Parties 02-05-2006 11:31 PM

We play them next year, I guess we'll find out.

pikesome 02-05-2006 11:33 PM

I don't know about our chances, looked like the Steelers know how to tackle. I saw some very good tackles tonight.

T-post Tom 02-05-2006 11:34 PM

I'm not sure. But I do know that a team of mini-Ditkas would have won by at least 4895 points.

jspchief 02-05-2006 11:37 PM

I think our O could have shredded them. Seattle had their number the entire first half, then every time they got to their 40 yd line, they got greedy and tried to go big instead of sticking with what was working. They also tried to hard to run outside instead of relying on the ability of their pro bowl left side to open holes.

IMO, Holmgren came in with an awesome game plan, and then pissed it away in the middle of drives. The he got out-coached in the second half.

And our defense would have been embarrassed by the Steelers O.

I doubt that. I'm pretty sure Tags would have somehow prevented the meeting.

tk13 02-05-2006 11:40 PM

Their O would be a total nightmare for our D... gadget plays to infinity.

I know everyone points to the refs in this game but I thought Holmgren wasn't managing his team too well. Neither coach seemed to be getting it right at the beginning but I expected more from Holmgren. Oh well, its hard to get really worked up, they weren't the Chiefs.

Hard to say how the Chiefs would have responded in an actual big game. I'd have to give it to the Steelers based on actually having post season experience.

PastorMikH 02-06-2006 12:14 AM

05's O against Pittsburg's D would be a great matchup. I'm not so sure I'd want to watch Pittsburg's O against our D. Our D bit on trick plays EVERY time. I don't think our D would be up to the task yet.

Yes, but what if they played the game in secret, at a secret location, just for grins?

NJ Chief Fan 02-06-2006 12:24 AM

lj would of broken all kinds of records n in the process trucked polyurathaine bout 30 times

chiefs would win 43-16 on a neutral field

Nightwish 02-06-2006 12:35 AM

The way the Steelers played tonight, any team that played a decent game could have beaten them. They played pretty horrible, despite the win. Seattle played a better game for the most part, but they played a worse game where it counted. An average Chiefs team could have beaten tonight's Steelers.

dtebbe 02-06-2006 08:02 AM

Willie Parker would probably have the top 5 longest runs in SuperBowl history this morning, instead of only the longest....

DT

Amnorix 02-06-2006 08:08 AM

KC on a good day can beat anybody. On a bad day can lose to anybody.

And, unfortunately, that inconsistency is part of what kept you out of the playoffs.

MOhillbilly 02-06-2006 08:10 AM

the refs would have made sure KC lost.

savedin79 02-06-2006 08:13 AM

chiefs win

Correct me if I'm wrong..but didn't the Chiefs have a top 10 rush D last season? I think KC's defense would have shut Parker down, and I don't think Ben could have done enough to put up the points that would be needed against KC's offense. KC would have won big IMO..then again it would have been a post season game so they would probably have choked anyways :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :cuss: :cuss: :banghead: :cuss: :cuss: :banghead:

It was Jerome Bettis' homecoming game.

At least once in the first two games leading up to the Super Bowl.

Post-season experience is overrated.

Just ask the Denver Broncos.

B_Ambuehl 02-06-2006 11:24 AM

They would've fared about as well as Seattle did, given that those 2 teams are virtual carbon copies of each other it's to be expected. That includes all the mistakes and other bullshit. KC can't play road games and neither can the Hawks.

Seattle played well offensively and had 3 of their first 4 drives killed by penalties including a TD called back and at least one more in the 2nd half. Throw in 2 more drops by the tight end both that would've put the football inside the 10 yard line and you're looking at a football game where on most days they would've had 30 + points easy.

The "Big Show" is definitely not a football coach who I'd feel happy about having 2 weeks to prepare for me if I were an opposing coach.....no sireee. I can't recall seeing many other games this year where a group of football coaches dominated in the gameplanning department as much as The Big Show and his staff did Sunday night.

Pittsburgh probably would've moved the ball with quite a bit more consistency against the Chiefs. Consistency on defense is why Seattle was in the super bowl and the Chiefs were at home, despite those 2 teams being carbon copies of each other with regards to talent and style of play.

I saw some not-so-good tackles as well. Hit and not wrapped up, just like some in the Chiefs secondary.

It is an opinion, but those days are over.

Oh, sorry. In that case, the Chiefs would've rolled 'em like 'Delt does a Size 12... :)

Chiefs Pantalones 02-06-2006 11:41 AM

We play them at Pittsburgh this year. It won't be the same setting as the Super Bowl, obviously...

Garcia Bronco 02-06-2006 12:11 PM

I think either the Chiefs would blow them out....or would barely lose in a 42 to 41 game

If nothing else, you know the Chiefs.
