INLAND EMPIRE

Nice news on the movie production front. Lynch and Fincher new movie releases are real close.

Hello? Non-mainstreamers are you there? BUMP.

Miles 02-15-2006 09:36 PM

One of my friends was telling me Lynch wasn't too far off on his new film. That article makes it sound like he is a ways along as well.

Looking foward to the Fincher one as well but not nearly as much as Lynch. Its been a while since he as made something good.

INDEED. Don't forget Fincher either. Remember; he wrote, "Seven". Thanks for the reply...

I have the, "Short Films" collection. Please don't waste your money. It is LAME. I love Lynch but that collection is really old and basically it was filmed right after he picked up his first camera. If you were here, I'd give you the DVD. Very non-traditional Lynch work. I highly recommend you steer clear of that one.

Yeah the short films came out on mainstream DVD a little while a go. Might have been the same time as eraserhead.

Its worth picking up if you are a big Lynch fan. His introductions to the fims are very interesting.

BUMPED TO SEE IF ANYONE HAS YET SEEN

?

Otter 05-10-2007 08:44 AM

I plan on going to see it when it's released. Pretty tough to give any insight into it until then however.

Lynch's Films are pretty much either hit or miss with me, a solid cerebral puzzle that you want to watch over to try and dissect and put together or a 'I want my 90 min back'.

Hit:
Mulholland Drive
Blue Velvet
Eraserhead
Twin Peaks

Miss:
Wild at Heart
The Short Films of David Lynch (ok, there was 1 good one)
Dune

Also, this film is going to be tough to catch unless you live near an indie film house. I don't think it's going mainstream at all.

It's currently showing in very limited areas. You can see them here:

Thanks. Amazon it is.

Otter 05-10-2007 09:44 AM

I found a discussion about it on JoBlo.com. Not too much garbage to sort through over there because the moderation is pretty tight.

Going to read it over lunch.

I have been waiting for this but it looks like it won't be shown anywhere around me any time soon. There dates and another trailer on the homepage of the film. The trailer is pretty bazaar.

That's funny, I was just asking a friend about this last night. He said he wants to see it at home where he can smoke throughout the movie, because its one of those types of pics. Seeing it in the theater left him wishing he had been high I guess. Suffice it to say, its out there, as you can expect from a Lynch film.

Deberg_1990 08-19-2007 08:37 PM

Lynch is one seriously weird dude.....

Yet i loved "The Straight Story" Probably his most mainstream flick ever.

Yep. Disney supported. I own it on VHS as well as all of the Twin Peaks episodes. Too bad I don't own a VCR. Funny thing is Tiny Evil saw Lynch in Beverly Hills having lunch with Sissey Spacek. As you may recall she was in that movie.

I remember watching Twin Peaks during that first season. I thought it was the weirdest, strangest, but maybe the best TV show i had ever seen. Then it fell apart after that first season......I havent watched it since....has it aged well?

The first season still holds up, but like you said, its downhill from there. Kyle McLachlin is amazing. I just re-watched it last year and thought it was great.

Hmm, Didn't realize they were divided by series. I have episode 1-23 I believe. So I guess that is all season's. *shrug*

Probably so.. The first season wasnt really a full one. It was only 8 or so episodes....

Miles 08-19-2007 10:56 PM

I picked it up on Tuesday but haven't found time to watch it yet. I have been really looking forward to it but I have to be in the right mood to watch a 3 hr movie that requires close attention to detail.

Miles, why are you seeming to be such a stranger around here? School/job keeping you busy?

TinyEvel 08-19-2007 11:00 PM

Little known fact: David Lynch directed my new avatar.

I still check in but haven't been around that much over the last few months. Busy with work and other summer stuff.
