KCStar Board sucked. ChiefsPlanet was created. ChiefsPlanet prospered. KCStar Board died. The end. |

I was only on there a few months before they shut it down. They warned us it was going down and we were competing to see who would get the last post. There was a little subforum named something talk where Pastor Mike posted under MHolman. There were a lot of trolls, one in particular, named Rambro. Really obnoxious.

It all started out with a single HTML page with stylistic times roman font where you could post freely without even entering a password. Things were a lot more laid back then, nobody giving anyone shit for no reason, trying to start shit (eh um "the asshole formerly known as Sidewinder", Simplex3). Things were good for a few years. Then the Raiders got Gannon kept the Chiefs from going to the playoffs in 99 and some tool named DrCool976 shows up to talk shit about the Raiders owning the Chiefs. For the next three seasons the Raiders did pretty much own the Chiefs which is why Superbowl XXXVII was the best superbowl ever. Then at some point I left and went over to rivals.com which was great until it went under. I preferred the format of their board to Chiefsplanet. After they went down I pretty much quit the Chiefs BBS's for a few years until joining the planet. |

The split was over censorship. The Star mods were cracking down on non-football threads, and rebellion ensued. CP was formed, and most of us came here. A few went to Pigskin Park, but it died.

Adam Tiecher had is own forum. People would go over there are post questions. Every few weeks, he'd drop in and make a celebrity appearance and answer them all at once. And we ate it up like it was the gospel truth.

Here's my version--- -----------------------------
A long long time ago on a message board their was base and charter members of ChiefsPlanet that included Rainman,KCTitus,KCWolfMan,Bob Dole,KlosterPhobia, Logical, htismaqe, Gaz ect.. Their was constant activity friendly jabs, and was as active as ChiefsPlanet back in the day. People threw friendly barbs at one another. Though their were dark days on the KCStar BB. These individuals were opposing teams spammers that would ravage it too it's very core, and of course the lazyass Star moderators let this activity run for days before taking any real action. As the evil known as the spammers regressed that BB came another rigid truth if one member of that BB wrote anything that fit their guidelines as "non-football" related was deleted on the spot. Posters like KCTitus spoke anything that concerned politics on their Football BB was deleted without any explanation this inspired rage, and insurrection amongst fellow poster's like any movement their was an ideal that we all craved free speach no matter the topic which was the base creation of Chiefs Planet. When one finally had the oppurtunity to create a eutopia for the posters of KCStar BB they were happier than pig in it's own bawlmovement. Spamers were struckdown with a mighty hand, and we were free to discuss anything on one BB with no subforums . During the days grey and yellow we had great times laughs, you know shits and giggles. Every poster had their place in the community posting 30-50 posts a day about quality topics with geniune, witty, and uniqueness that defined each of us back in the day. Many emulated Gaz since the KCStar board, and when I joined in '98 the gaz option was already in place, and forever will be for the ones who remember Gaz. The Girly Thread was created by Big Daddy in 2002, and the reason why original handle was banned. During the 6-10 season , and the sudden arrival of the Rams to STL fairweather posters jumped ship to become Rams fans. This is also where some of the calous nature of the BB comes from too if you are too much of a homer, or a fairweather fan you will get bashed, and hazed. Only the strong can survive ChiefsPlanet, and is shown with every poster here in which you can discern from the weak and strongwilled on the BB. While this jubilation was occuring their was a dark force going to rear it's head in the form of NEPA, and it's lunatic creator JD Prez. The information their was so maligned due to the NEPA creator's maniacal stalking of Phobia, and going to the point of making threats on Phobials answering machine at his house. This inturn generated a spoof site of NEPA called NEPACheese. I forgot who created it, but I owned Prez in the smack department their, and called the forum provider brave.net to take it down, because JD Prez was being a little bitch. Which brings things to the 2003 area in which a suddle decline, and friction between AustinChief, and Phobia began to develop which leads us where we are today. I left the creation of 37forever, because I forgot who originally brought forth the idea. If you want more info contact a KCStar '95 alum, or ask me specific questions that you are mulling over |
I think some of the 2000 guys could give you a better idea of what went on. The first time I came here I didn't like some of the posters here so I went to the Pig Pen. I can't remember who they were now. That explains why I was so late (Apr 2001) getting here although Morphius likes to call me a n00b because of it.

I threw the second gathering, it was a bowling party, and then we all went and hung out at the Casino's. We had that one because Bob Dole was coming into town, and the bastard didn't show up. KCWolfman, Smell the People, Denise, KC Jones, Pam Dawson and a couple others were there. The KC Star admins showed up and had a couple drawing for a few tickets to something or other. I don't think there was another gathering until Fraz, Raiderhader, Kcwolfman, Rausch and myself all got together in a bar up in the Northland. |

I'm beginning to see, now, why so many of the veteran posters are feeling the way they are.
It must be a little sad to see a community that started with one particular, close-knit group change. I imagine that a lot of you are missing the Hitler-looking guy in particular. Still, change can be positive, too. There are some worthy N00bs (sp?) on the board, I think. It's just that N00bs (sp?) don't share your experiences. So you have to make new memories. No one can reproduce the great fart threads of the past. We just have to make the most of the fart threads of the present. FAX THE PHILOSOPHICAL |

I respect and understand the feelings of the oldest-timers, but I'm just happy to have a place to get some Chiefs buzz and ocassional wierdness. Personally, I feel like the board has been more active this offseason than last, though stats may prove me wrong. And, sure, most of the threads may be borderline insane in their pointlessness...still, when training camp rolls around the football talk will too. I'm happy to see the new faces...well, mostly. ROFL uhhhhh What did that old Greek say, "You can never post on the same message board twice"??? |

I'm pretty sure Rainman was on the Star board (different user name). He just got lost in the migration and it took him a while to find the new site.

The board's future is in VERY serious doubt at the moment. You should start seeking refuge on another board STAT. |
Are you guys SURE Rainman was on the Star board?

OK kiddies gather round for the lore of ChiefsPlanet is soon to abound.
Once upon a time in the mid 90s many, many of us like the Senator, Logical, Titus and even ole mean DEnise all posted together in an incarnation of the Star BB that was formatted much like todays Planet. We were a hardy group who harbored much anger and venom and we would fight the nights through. As time wore on our numbers grew and a bond did seemingly develop. Then lo one night the evil witch Becky suddenly set to banning people for political speech in her forum. Many a poster thought it was at the bequest of the Evil DEnise but she doth deny it but defend Becky mightily did she. Soon the regulars were being banned right and left and lo came a savior nigh onto us with an initial parry to Russ (KCWolfman) and a few other. Lo the Planet was born and things were good and a mass exodus did ensue in 2000 August the year AD. Now the story is told that the wicked DEnise claimed she would never post here, though I have never been able to document its truth, this is a widely held rumor of truth. For many months DEnise only made a token appearance and went back to the Star to lay claim to her now lonely throne, where only the n00Bs and trolls did now roam. All went well until behold technical problems with server volume did raise an ugly head. Thence Pigskin Park/Pen was doth conceived and rivaled this board for usage and steam. Now the Star BB did shut itself down and an influx of poster at both the Planet and Park did begin and grow and grow did each board rise. Now it is told that the Park had and Planet had many dual members but for its technical problems was the Planet Noted. Meanwhile at the Park their arose a clamor by Gaz and DEnise of separation of political matter. As both were mods the owner did listen and split said board into two forums (sound familiar). Well lo and behold traffic in the sports forum began to dwindle while posting was soaring at the Pen we did quibble. Well DEnise, and Jamie and Thomas and Logical too fought to the degree it killed the Pen too. Away, away, away went all back to the Planet with a better server to boot. Together we did post in vastness and health while the BB did grow exponentially as well. Then one foggy fall day to what to our wonder cries did appear but that mean ole gal DEnise did appear. Came struggles and bitterness but a community was still built and it seemed nothing could ever be better than the Planet. Then came the evil, evil elections and what even the mean DEnise could not accomplish those elections did and the fabric of the Planet was ripped like a quilt. A cry came anew from you will never guess who, sayeth Gaz we need to have a separate forum. Now much crying and screaming did ensue, we will ruin the Planet like was done to the Park. Many votes were held and still no change when suddenly there came a poll with a story like thunder. Big Daddy switched sides and said yeah we need the separation and finally it happened the separation passeth. Time wore on and survived we did, yet this was not enough to quiet the masses. Take that DC from sight they said and gone wad the DC link forthwith. Now you have arrived at the time of today and we look forward each day to a new server. Because through it all we have endure the technical problems because in the end we have been a community and that has held us together. I know this was not great literature but I have told this story so many times I had to do it different just to amuse myself. |
