There will be very big news concerning our country and military tomorrow, that you will read about in the paper or see on TV.

That is all I can tell you, that is all I know right now. But I personally think it will have to do something with N.Korea and their missile test.

Hydrae 06-17-2006 09:41 PM

It is Daddy Day, that is all that matters.

DJay23 06-17-2006 09:55 PM

Aren't you supposed to write those in quatraines?

You might be right-since we can't take out Iran right now because of Mother Russia-NK looks to be the next target for Bush.

I sense, that sometime within the next 24 hours, a stupid thread will be posted by someone you all know.

Bwana 06-17-2006 10:29 PM

Jenson...........have you been drinking mouth wash and smoking ditch weed again?

Jenson71 06-17-2006 10:29 PM

Some of the higher ranked military officials are going to have their hands full, working long hours in the next couple weeks. This leads me to believe it's more bad news than good.

Halfcan 06-17-2006 10:30 PM

Sometime between 6 am and 7:30 tomorrow. A huge orange ball of burning gas, will rise up from the East. It will be hot enough to warm the entire earth, but will only give light to half of it at a time.

Are you kidding-people at work have never heard of Jimmy Carter, Rosa Parks, Ted Nugent-before reality show, Hitler, Ty Cobb, Dante-the poet-not Hall, Mozart, Rush, Led Zeppelin, Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin, Josh Gibson.

If it is not on tv in a reality show-they have never heard of them. What the hell are they teaching you kids in school nowdays??

That's a good question, actually.

I watched Street Smarts a few months ago, and one of the questions was "How many states in the United States?".

They actually had an entire show dedicated to this question.

I was shocked that people, born, raised, and educated in the U.S. weren't able to answer the question correctly.

It came up in conversation with one of the receivers I deal with, and he didn't know the correct answer.

So, as I continued through my day, I asked others, and the only person to get it right was a naturalized citizen.

Are we, as a society, really this ignorant?

Jenson71 06-17-2006 11:20 PM

It seems to me it should be mandatory to be able to name all of our country's past presidents. Is that asking too much?

I'd fail. I can tell you all fifty states, and where they're at. I guess that would be considered geography, though. Never was big on history. Teachers I had sucked, though.

Dante Alighieri-the poet

What about Langston Hughes, Sir Winston Churchhill, Vincent Van Gogh, Robert Frost?

luv 06-17-2006 11:33 PM

In second grade, our teacher made our class memorize "The Swing" by Robert Louis Stevenson. I've grown to love his poetry, as well as poetry in general, ever since. We were the only class that did that. We went over to the other second grade class and recited it.

I shouldn't say anything- I thought James Blunt was a girl-lol a common mistake evidently.

When it comes to TV and all these reality shows, hip hop, pop music, rap, I have limited knowledge.

Langston Hughes was a black poet.

How do you like to go up in a swing
Up in the air so blue
Oh I do think it the pleasantest thing

I should be more clear.

With some exceptions, I don't like contemporary music.

I haven't really liked music created in most of my lifetime.

I like 50's Rock and Roll.
Music from the era prior to that, Frank Sinatra, big band, etc.

I also like some classical.

I simply can't listen to contemporary music.

How do you like to go up in a swing,
Up in the air so blue?
Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing
Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,
Till I can see so wide,
Rivers and trees and cattle and all
Over the countryside—

Till I look down on the garden green,
Down on the roof so brown—
Up in the air I go flying again,
Up in the air and down!
