Happy Father's Day

To all of you dads out there. Hope you have a day full of whatever it is you enjoy. Too bad this day doesn't fall on a Sunday during Football season.

thanks, luv.

I'm not a father, but have seen many a child get flushed and buried in their little latex coffin

teedubya 06-18-2006 01:17 AM

You dont know the feeling of true love, until the first moment that you see and hold your first child... and each child thereafter for that matter... but when your first kid comes into the world, wow. What a feeling.

*snicker*

I'll simply refer to the NFL Network segment today about Steeler Larry Foote...

I echo that sentiment to all the fathers around here. Taught my son how to shave this morning. My wife said it was a classic father's day moment.

KC Jones 06-18-2006 07:17 AM

Here's to the fellow Dad's :toast:

My day has started out well... Woke up in the tent in the backyard, and in a little while we'll drive up into the mountains to do a little hiking.

Well, I went and spent the day with dad. He made two loaves of bread with the breadmaker I got him. Watched Mickelson choke on the 18th hole to lose th US Open. Went swimming for about an hour. Overall a very good day. I hope dad enjoyed it, too.

What did all you dads get/do today?

chiefs4me 06-18-2006 06:19 PM

My son took me fishing (he's 9), and my daughters made me cards and a pen, and my wife let me take a nap!

What'd he do?
Load in his little red wagon, and pull you down to the fishing hole with bike?

Over-Head 06-18-2006 07:29 PM

I got my first "happy daddy’s day" phone call today.
Quite fitting it was one of my dearest fiends. This kid ain’t born yet, but I’ll be damned if I’m giving back the table saw :shake:

ROFL

No, he made me drive.

Donger 06-18-2006 08:31 PM

My four year old boy went 'solo' on his bike today, for the first time. He was so proud. I'll never forget it.

Careful. Before you know it, he'll be going solo in a car.

I'm actually a little worried about the future. I get the distinct feeling that one day he'll enslave us all. I have since the moment he was born.

He has his mother's charm and an estimated 180 IQ. Those wouldn't be bad things, except he's also inherited certain traits of mine that are, well, undesirable in society.

dirty legs...or a british accent?

Lzen 06-19-2006 10:52 AM

Thanks for the sentiment. I had a great day. Went over to my sister's house and did the family thing. My dad came over and we bbq'd. Later on, I went out and played hoops with my brother, 2 nephews(ages 20 & 15), and my son(age 13). Some other dudes came up and joined us. It was a lot of fun. Not always easy to get a 5 on 5 game going.

I don't have a British accent most of the time.
