FFL Opinion Poll - RB

Continuing the FFL research I started the other day, I'd like to get everyone's opinion on which 10 running backs will have the best Fantasy Seasons this year. My 12 team league allows 4 RB per team so I'll list the top 48 RB in the NFL.com Fantasy Football Preview.

This poll will take a while as I need to put it in alphabetical order.

The results so far for QB are:

of 21 voters the following 5 QB are predicted to have the best fantasy season this year:

1. Peyton Manning (21)
2. Matt Hasselbeck (15)
3. Tom Brady (12)
4. Carson Palmer (11)
5. Trent Green (10)

Mine is a running league among friends. Same people every year. We don't hold our draft until the first week of September. Just doing some research. Calm down.

You should have put Maroney and Addai up there. I would be fairly certain that Addai will have a good fantasy season...that Indy offense is so explosive he'll get too many looks at touchdowns no too. I also like Maroney to take over for the mummified Corey Dillon.

DJay23 06-19-2006 09:27 AM

In no particular order I said,
LJ
LT
Alexander
Cadillac Williams
Ronnie Brown
LaMont Jordan
Willis McGahee
Clinton Portis
Steven Jackson
Tiki Barber

Rudi Johnson would have been next on the list and I also think that Julius Jones could have a big year knowing the Tuna's preference to the run.

Yeah, they're not listed in my magazine, neither is Bush, but I added him. Rookies are kind of iffy propositions, but they probably should be in there. Don't know if I'd bump any of my top ten for them.

DJay23 06-19-2006 09:31 AM

I'm very curious to see what people think about Edge. I had him last year and he was huge for me. If faced with the opportunity to draft him again, I don't know if I could unless it was after the 2nd round.

I find it interesting that there is a vote for Ahman Green.

rad 06-19-2006 09:37 AM

I think:

LJ
LT
Alexander
Willie Parker
Domanick Davis

DD should do better this year. Kubiak is a run-lover.

DaKCMan AP 06-19-2006 09:40 AM

1. LJ
2. LT
3. Alexander
4. Tiki
5. Steven Jackson/Ronnie Brown

That's not a bad pick, but what about their line? Did they do anything to improve it? I know their big issue was pass protection, but it's like dominoes. Still, not a bad consideration for a 3rd RB if he falls that far.

They got Flanigan from GB, and a FB.

Plus Moulds to help stretch the field.

I play in a 16 team league, so draft strategy is different for me.

Not nec. in order:

L. Johnson
L. Tomlinson
S. Alexander
E. James
C. Portis
S. Jackson
R. Brown
L. Jordan
C. Williams
T. Barber

and FYI, you need to include the rookies. Bush, Addai, and Williams in particular should be listed. Bush in a PPR league could definitely finish top10.

Mr. Laz 06-19-2006 10:39 AM

i think portis has a monster year in washington

Saunders will get him into space and he should run wild if the offense stays healthy.

Mark Brunell - functional veteran
Clinton Portis - legit homerun threat
Santana Moss - legit #1 WR
David Patten - very good #2 WR
Brandon Lloyd - outstanding #3 WR
James Thrash - Brutal #4 WR
Randel El - Brutal #4 WR(see the field?)
Cooley - the H-Back Saunders wanted wilson to be
Fauria - functional TE to use in short yardage

if their offensive line can stay healthy they could very well be the best offensive in football this year.

I have plans of stealing Ronnie Brown in the third round of my draft. Whether or not that happens might be a different story.

If you get Ronnie Brown in the 3rd, that would be a huge steal indeed.

KevB 06-19-2006 11:22 AM

1. Alexander
2. LJ
3. LT
4. Portis
5. Tiki
6. Cadillac
7. St. Jackson
8. Ronnie Brown
9. Edge
10. LaMont Jordan
11. Rudi Johnson
12. McGahee

cdcox 06-19-2006 11:41 AM

Not much love for No. 5. He was by all accounts the top player in the draft and is playing at a position that rookies can often make instant contributions. I expect he'll crack the top 10 in fantasy production this year.

While I don't expect it, it's very possible, wouldn't be surprised at all. Especially considering Deuce is still recovering from ACL repair, and can't survive a full season anyway. Like I said, in a PPR league, he's a solid RB2, superb RB3, even in a part time role.

Somebody said they want to steal Ronnie Brown in the 3rd, I don't see it happening. But Reggie Bush on the other hand...

I got Tiki in the 4th round last year.

Don't tell anyone in my FFL, but I think Chester Taylor is going to have a big year for the Vikings with Hutchison and T-Rich blocking for him.

Ronnie Brown should be a top 15 pick this year...No more Ricky and an upgrade at QB should help (if Culpepper can make a good comeback).

You must play in like a 5 man league. Our 16 team, 1 player keeper league means all the starting backs are gone by round 2-3, unless you wind up with a gem like Willie Parker.

greg63 06-19-2006 02:07 PM

Shaun Alexander – SEA

Tiki Barber – NYG

Ron Dayne – DEN

Ahman Green – GB

Larry Johnson – KC

Curtis Martin – NYJ

Clinton Portis – WAS

Duce Staley – PIT

LaDanian Tomlinson – SD

Brian Westbrook – PHI

My draft would have to be going really well for me to take Reggie Bush. I think Deuce McAllister will be healthy. If anything, I'd take Bush very late in the draft. I know he will be good, but I'm cautious when it comes to rookies.
