"Ty Law: Closing in on a deal"--Patriots Scout.com site
The Patriots' Scout.com site wrote an article titled Ty Law: Closing in on a deal (go figure). The only clues to the article's contents that they're giving over on the War Paint Illustrated free site are that the article involves the Chiefs and that there's a better than 50/50 chance he'll be a Chief...whatever. I just figured I'd start a little football discussion. Sorry if this has been posted already.

If it was on WPI it is the real deal!!! ROFL ROFL
|
You know, I would log into WPI, but I can't get the board admin to FIX MY FREAKIN' LOGIN!!!
|
Ty Law will never be a Chief
|
The Pats' site says Law's agents and KC have exchanged contract numbers and KC is the frontrunner. Nothing more than that, really. They put the timeframe of him signing within the next 10-14 days.
|
I can't wait for the implosion when he resigns with New England...

From what I read, Athan is being very careful this time. It sounded to me like the Chiefs have a great shot at Law.
|
Well, its not in 48 hours at least...

My guess, is he will be on someone's team on opening day-Herm
|
I really don't think NE wants Law that badly. They are in somewhat of a rebuilding mode defensively. They cut ties with Willie McGinest this offseason. Why would they bring in another older player?

Good Gawd! Not this BS again! :shake:

Oh, I am so excited!
Oh, I am so excited! Oh, I am so excited! Wait, what is going on here? Oh, Ty Law? Pfft I am going back to sleep, let me know when something interesting happens. |

I'd be thrilled if he signed with KC, but it'll never happen. I'd be shocked if it actually happened.

Prepare to be shocked. |
50/50 chance; well lets start getting those SB tickets now. :p

I hope it does happen...I'd be so shocked I may poop my pants. |

The stuff the doctor gave me is called ciprofloxin eye drops. Seems to be working pretty good. |

The great thing about it is since it is so broad spectrum, even if the doctor misdiagnosed or doesn't know exactly what it is, it will usually get rid of it nonetheless. Moooo |
Here is a scenario:
We finally sign Ty Law. Week 5 Ty Law breaks his leg. |
Quote:
Oh no no no..... He suffers from turf-toe and misses 8 weeks of the season. |

no he catches pink eye the night before the bengals game and misses the entire season
|
Wow, that's too bad.
I hope Ty Law gets over his eye infection in time for the season. |
I'm going to give everyone a free taste of premium:
Law WILL sign somewhere. There IS a 50/50 chance he will sign with the Chiefs...if he doesn't sign somewhere else, in which case I'll simply change my prediction and raise the cost of premium. |

Law won't sign until the last week of training camp and it probably won't be with the Chiefs.

Can someone post the whole article or is this all it said?

Law will sign a contract before NFL training camps start? Holy effing crap batman!!
I have inside information that says Law has been doing things like working out, and placing and receiving telephone calls from his agent. This proves Law will be playing football soon! And there's a good chance it could be here if Law wants to sign here then it might possibly maybe happen. ($89.95 please) Who the f*** does he think he's fooling? |
Law dawg wants to be paid, better be keeping in shape.
Don't show up looking like Sims suckin' wind. 50/50 to be a Chief. At this point I have stopped caring. Great if he really wants to play in KC next to Surtain, help the young guys and D. If it's just a pay check, then interest fads fast. |
Honestly, I'm very concerned at the age of our DB's if law signs. Knight, who is slow, Surtain, who is getting slower, and Law , who is old.
How long can they last ? In single coverage, we are going to get burned. |

Michael Scott told me Ty Law will be a Kansas City Chief.
Michael Scott is never wrong. |
ty law just may be the chief chief of chiefs
but who among us would say "we would have never made it to the super bowl without signing ty law" of course ifn we don't sign him and we make it, that point is moot. |
Who's Ty Law?

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/player...e?statsId=3188 Ty Law From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Tajuan Law, best known as Ty Law, (born February 10, 1974 in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania) is an American football cornerback who is currently a free agent in the NFL. He began his professional career after a three year run at Michigan where he lettered three years in a row (1992-94), earned first-team All-American honors from Walter Camp as a senior and was a two-time unanimous All-Big Ten Conference selection. He declared himself eligible for the NFL Draft in 1995. [1]He was drafted 23rd overall in the first round by the New England Patriots where he spent the majority of his career. In 1998 Law earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl. That year he led the league with 9 interceptions, the first time any New England Patriot had led the league in interceptions. In 1999 Law was named to his second consecutive Pro Bowl. In 2001 Law was a key player in the Patriots Super Bowl win over the heavily favored St. Louis Rams. His first half 47 yard interception return for a touchdown scored the first points of the game for Patriots, who eventually won the game 20-17. Law was voted to the Pro Bowl for the third consecutive year and for the fourth time in his career after the 2003 season. In 2003, Law was part of a record-shattering Patriots defense that led the NFL in four key categories: opponents’ points per game (14.9), opponents’ passer rating (56.2), interceptions (29) and passing touchdowns surrendered (11). Law's dominant physical play against some of the game's best receivers prompted the NFL to change rules regarding contact after the 2003 season. These changes are sometimes referred to as the "Ty Law Rule." In the AFC championship game against the Indianapolis Colts, Law intercepted 3 passes from Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, assisting his team to a 24-14 win and their second Super Bowl appearance in 3 years, where they defeated the Carolina Panthers 32-29. At the beginning of the 2004 season Law was considered by many to be the game's best cornerback. He was an important component of the a New England Patriots team that shattered the NFL's consecutive win record. Their remarkable run ended the same day that Law suffered a season-ending injury. The Patriots went on to win Super Bowl with a patchwork secondary, but Law received his third Super Bowl Ring for his early season contributions. On February 25, 2005, Law was released by the cap-conscious Patriots due to his $12,551,000 cap salary. The Patriots saved $9,849,997 on the 2005 salary cap. ESPN.com reported on August 8, 2005 that Law agreed to a three year, $18 million deal with the New York Jets. Law went on to have a great season with the Jets, amassing a career-high 10 interceptions and was the only Jet voted into the Pro Bowl (Jonathan Vilma was named to the pro bowl as well, but that was due to an injury to Miami's Zach Thomas, not by means of popular vote by the fans). On December 26, 2006 Law returned an interception 74 yards for a touchdown against the Patriots. Despite his great success with the Jets, Ty Law was released by the New York Jets on February 22, 2006 because he wanted out of New York and the Jets were also a projected $30 million over the salary cap for 2006. Law was due to make $7.6 million for 2006. Since being released, he has been courted by several teams, but has yet to resign. Teams interested include the New England Patriots, Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. |
Well it's about time someone started a Ty Law thread around here.
