Origin of Nuthooks
 

Alright, I've been lurking around on this board for nearly a year now and have become vaguely familiar with most of the words and phrases in the CP lexicon. I'm intrigued by one in particular, though:

nuthooks

Apparently, this beauty of a word is native to CP, as most Google searches just lead back to here or other Chiefs sites. So help a n00b out - where in the world did this gem of a word come from?

If we told you we'd have to kill you. We'd use nuthooks to do it.

Hmm...sounds like a rough way to go. If that's the case, I'll just have to spend the rest of my life wondering...

I haven't been told what is official used for our female posters.

RRWNJs also appears to be native to CP. RWNJs was used elsewhere, but the RR version appears to be our own. I could be wrong, though...

This is just a thread where you mention originating it. Do you have a link to the original thread itself? Just curious.

I've looked around, but a search for "nuthooks" in the archives comes up empty. :shrug:

Yeah, bogus postings of Athan-like proportions back in the early days drew much ire and threats of stringing up the poster by the nads. Lattimer coined the term nuthook to bring extra pain to the job of stringing one by the nads for impersonating Nick Athan.

I think the term is actually an Eskimo word for snow.

This was back in 2001/2002 or so.. Don't think they go back that far.

Gotcha. Well, kudos for coining such a term. I'll have to intregrate it into my everyday language. :D
