I was hoping for an Orange Mane link.

el borracho 09-18-2006 09:00 PM

Zero range of motion and he's spotting himself with his hands.

teedubya 09-18-2006 09:14 PM

Heh. Pat Robertson, putting up 1000lbs on leg press.

Hootie 09-18-2006 09:16 PM

If anyone saw LJ try to hit a baseball on ESPN during the NFL Superstars thingy...that was hilarious...he looked uncoordinated to say the least.

That was embarassing. He tore it up on the obstacle course though.

His math is bad thats no 1000 lbs. he'd need 22 plates 11 per side to make that weight.

plates were 10 20 kg, then he put on 4 45 kg plates, than 2 more 20kgdifficult to say total weight, close to 1000 with the bar. 12*45=540
4*100=400 bar weighs 45, 985 total weight.

He had a couple of 100#'s on there as well.

Really not that impressive though; see alot of people that throw alot of weight on the leg press and then move it 4 inches and think they are doing something.

Reminds me of the this older dude at the gym I work out at that "used to be a bodybuilder" I don't see it. He will always tell me how much weight he used to lift, and how I can improve etc.. but you watch him work out and it is exactly like what that video is. Will throw way to much weight on a bar and move it 6 inches and think it is an impressive thing.

At the end there were 6, 45lb plates on each side and 2, 100 lb plates...

6 x 45=270, x 2=540

2 x 100=200, x 2=400

540+400= 940 lbs and I am going to assume the rest of the machine weighs more then 100+ lbs so it looks like he is doing 1000+ lbs.. not bad, but that machine is easy as hell to do... I put 5, 45 lb plates on each side when I work out with it...

InChiefsHeaven 09-18-2006 10:03 PM

Well, it IS Pat Robertson...so he does have God on his side and all...

Chiefs_Mike_Topeka 09-18-2006 10:04 PM

Now THIS is impressive!

I think one of the most impressive things I ever saw was about 10-12 years ago when Dorian Yates was was on video doing bent over rows with 1000 lbs.

Now that dude was a FREAK in size as well.

.

jidar 09-19-2006 09:54 AM

Most of the people reading this thread could do that actually. It's a lot of weight, but on that type of machine and with that little range of motion it's not that hard.

penguinz 09-19-2006 10:06 AM

It is very easy to do an obscene amount of weight on a leg press sled. Even easier when you cheat by using your arms to help lift and only move the bar a few inches.

Chief Chief 09-19-2006 11:03 AM

In regards to the thread title, now ya know why they call him "King Pink".

BWillie 09-19-2006 12:18 PM

HAHA reminds me of people doing squats in the gym and thinking they do them right..and then acting all hard. Also reminds me when these DBAGS get spotted and their friend helps them Bench 300 and they actually think they did it. I bet Pat Roberson can't even squat 200.
