Who wins tonight Cards or Mets
Who wins tonight??
Mets or Cards..... |
Let's see, I'll get world series tickets if the cards win......so it'll probably be the mets
|
Let's see, if the Mets when, I'll be flying to New York and going to Shea Stadium and, um, well, sitting in the Shea's box. So the Cards will probably win. :(
|
If the Cards lose a game 7, with the World Series on the line, to 3-13 Oliver Perez, they need to shoot themselves in the face.
|
I have complete confidence in St. Louis' ability to choke.
I just don't know if it will be this week or next week. |
It really doesn't matter IMO.. They both are going to be Tiger food. :)
|
Well, I'm hoping for the Cards, so the Mets will win.
|
Part of me actually hopes they lose, just because watching them lurch, stagger and sputter their way through the season and the playoffs has been absolutely grueling. They are not fun to watch, which is a sad statement about a team this far into the playoffs. They are loaded with choke-artists, and I really have zero faith in them to do anything other than aggravate the hell out of me.
And, of course, both of these teams are merely playing for the honor of being slaughtered by the Tigers. It would be nice to see the Cards celebrate a victory in front of the knuckle-dragging goon Mets fans, though (Jesus, what a bunch of pricks). And it would be nice to have a team I root for win a major championship (I certainly won't be getting one from the Chiefs or Mizzou this year). And the accompanying t-shirt is a plus, especially wearing it in Chicago. :) So I'll vote Cards. And it is entirely possible that they'll win, because the Mets are capable of sucking enough to choke worse than us. But sadly, I kind of doubt it. Woo-hoo. :shake: |
Metropolitans
|
The Mets will have the honor of being swept by the Tigers
|
Suppan (ex.Royal) comes thru Cards win.
If they lose they can use the 'Royals factor' against him. The new Cubs factor. |
'Hamas' Jenkins and his St Louis Cardinals..
I predict it will be a close game, and won late.. I also think 'Hamas' will soil himself tonight..and he better have a pair of depends by his side :D :cuss: :cuss: |
The only chance the Cards have is for me to vote for the Mets...there you have it, sword fallen upon for my beloved Cards.
|
Jeff Suppan is pitching. Mets win.
|
You Cards fans are a hard bunch... Suppan once beat Roger Clemens in a game 7 to get you guys to the World Series. If he can do that, I think he can beat Oliver freakin' Perez. I'm still flabbergasted that it's game 7 of a playoff series and the Mets are sending a 3-13 pitcher out there.
|
The Cards have to bench either Edmonds or Rolen tonight and play Taguchi..those 2 guys have been killing them..or sit Encarcion and play Taguchi..
|

They were suppose to get swept by the Padres. They were suppose to get murdered by the Mets. They have the 2nd worst total wins in MLB history to make the playoffs.....Choke...yeah they have underachieved this post season....Hater:harumph: |

Albert comes through yet again-what a stud from Independence!!
Even though Cards fans can be assholes they are still a Missouri team-so I have to root for them. Cards all the way! |
Quote:
IMO, Rolen and Eckstein (just too beat up to play effectively) should be benched and replaced with Spiezio and Miles, and Edmonds should be knocked down to 8th in the batting order. |

He has been killing the Mets..Taguchi for Encarcion??? |

The Cards'll win.
Some are making way too much of Oliver Perez though, or atleast his record. I think he's 2-3 since coming to the Mets. He's certainly off more often than not, but he has the kind of talent where he can throw up a gem if the dice turn up right. I wouldn't expect Perez to pitch much anyway. Probably 4 innings, even if he's doing well. Randolph is going to try and make this a bullpen game as quickly a possible. |

I'll take the Met's
Suppan isn't near as good on the road as he is in Busch. His era is 2 runs per game higher. |

Eckstein
Wilson Pujols Encarnacion Rolen Edmonds Molina Belliard Suppan Molina and Belliard might be switched, the guy was reading off the lineup quick. No Taguchi tonight though. |

The Mets I hope.
fuck St. Loser. |

Letting Weaver pitch the 6th set up our bullpen for the win. Putting in the left handed Duncan against the left handed pitcher when he has Spiezo on the bench Holding out Carpenter to win the division and not starting him on short rest in the playoffs. Remember Edmonds had had a suck azz playoff run until he hit the game 6 winner. Rolen had a suck azz playoff until he hit the game winner in game 7. Those guys can hit. Hopefully they get off their ass and produce tonight. |

Send out Steve Trachsel? The guy who basically faked an injury to get off the field because he's such a douchebag? Or start Darren Oliver, a guy who hasn't started a game in about 4 years? You act like the Mets had several options here. Pedro is out, Duque is out. Perez, when on, has electric stuff. I have confidence in the guy. He didn't rack up all 13 loses with the Mets. It's not about him beating Oliver Perez. It's about the Mets bats or the Cardinals bats beating the pitching. |

I haven't been a Royals fan long enough to be bitter.
I just hate St. Loser. Lambs, Blues, Cards, whatever. Although what I really want is for a gaping chasm to open up under the stadium and suck down both teams. I'm diametrically opposed to rooting for anything from New York, too. Either way, the NL teams are just vying for the honor of being the Tigers' bitch. |
I disagree... I've always said starting pitching is the biggest key to winning in the playoffs. I was arguing that with you Mets fans when I said the Mets wouldn't mop up the Cards like everyone thought... cause the Cards had better starting pitching. Same reason the Tigers are plowing everyone over.
Personally, I'd send Darren Oliver out there, he was fantastic the other night. Although Perez is nasty when he's on, but that's been rare lately. He still gave up 5 runs the other night. He could come out and blow them away tonight, I don't doubt that a bit, he has the ability. I think he also has the ability to give up 6 runs in the first two innings and put the game out of reach. I have no idea what's gonna happen, I think it's wide open. Although, if I were a Cards fan I would shoot myself in the face if my team lost the last two games of a playoff series with my two aces on the mound, to a rookie and a 3-13 pitcher. I don't care where the games are or where the pitchers pitched during the season. That would be another grade A LaRussa choke job. |
I'd like to shoot LaRussa and the Double Out Twins in the face, not me.

Edmonds and Rolen are switched. It's Molina, then Belliard at the end.
|
Great. Now we'll get the weak pop-up ahead of the strike out. Hooray beer. :shake:
I don't undersand why he won't move Belliard up in the order. :banghead: |
We
Are Gonna Need Extra Runs |

That's the thing about Wagner. 1-2 run games, he's lights out. I don't know what it is about him and non-save opportunities, but he doesn't have nearly the fire as opposed to save chances. |

Perez was decent, what 2 years ago?? He was pretty lights out, dont know what happend.

If the Cards can't win this game, regardless of what was expected before post season, it will be a huge let down. You have a one game lead with 2 games left and your 2 best pitchers to go.
You have Pujols,"the best hitter in the game" and a top notch defense. Cards fans are as close as you can get to "football fans" in baseball. They love their team and I know because I am one, they will be highly pissed if the lose this game. This is a BIG game. |
Why is Spezio on the bench?
WTF is LaRussa thinking, play the stats vs. who is hot. Rolen may be a great D 3B, bat better make an impact tonite.... |
Quote:
Spezio doesn't hit LHP well, and that's all we're going to see tonight Rolen hits Perez very well Suppan's a groundball pitcher and Rolen is a great defensive 3B. I have a bigger issue with the lack of Taguchi over Encarnacion and the batting order than anything else. Rolen has a better OBP than Spezio since game 3. Plus, Spezio is a pretty solid pinch hitter. I don't have a huge problem with this, but Encarnacion's presence in the lineup is troublesome. He sucks the pus out of a dead goat's colon boil. |

the 1968 series with Detriot McCarver (not verbatem) "Unfortunately I was on the Cardinals" what an A$$ I had heard his was kinda of an anti-Cardinal but never heard anything similar until recently. |
Quote:
Yea, the Cards fans are loyal and baseball smart. A lot like Chiefs fans are loyal and usually football smart in my opinion. |
Personally, I think you can tangibly feel FOX rooting for the Mets so that a larger market will be represented in the WS. fuck them is what I say.

I'm nervous as hell. Don't know why. Cardinals have had much better ball teams in recent years and have not gone this far. Sad state that the NL is in these days. Birds win.

Would someone explain to me how a guy that has an ERA north of 8 was 'good' in his start?
|
The DH is a huge advantage. The AL goes out and buys, developes a DH. The NL brings some guy off the bench. IMHO the DH is the worst rule in the history of the game.
