Hey Florida fans.........

SoCalBronco 11-12-2006 06:55 PM

U$C will get ass raped against Cal/ND and possibly also UCLA at the Rose Bowl.

Yea just like everyone said they'd lose to Oregon too.......USC is a great home team and all those games are at home.

I'm real scared of the team that got beat by Arizona and UCLA is just pathetic.....

DaKCMan AP 11-12-2006 06:58 PM

It's absolute bullshit. A team that lost to an UNRANKED TEAM should not be ahead of a team whose only loss came against a team who has been considered top 5 for the vast majority of the season.

Well Auburn just got destoryed by an unranked team.....

Nah he was just harping last night that there was no way USC would pass Florida if Florida didn't lose a game.... so I guess he was wrong.

I guess I underestimated the stupidity of the BCS. USC lost to UNRANKED Oregon St., and played it close with unranked Washington, Wash St, and Arizona St.

Our only loss was to Auburn.

USC should NOT be ranked ahead of us.

Mecca 11-12-2006 07:07 PM

I think it's a toss up....we both have our flaws. We discussed yours last night and USC's basically comes from most of the starting lineup being underclassmen, with numerous freshman and sophomores in starting roles.

DaKCMan AP 11-12-2006 07:08 PM

Not to mention Rutgers being #2 in the computers is an absolute JOKE.

Mecca 11-12-2006 07:09 PM

Rutgers still has WV left.....so them going undefeated isn't a given.

SCTrojan 11-12-2006 07:10 PM

A lot of football still to play. Myself, I think Michigan/Ohio State will be a close game and they'll replay it on a neutral field for the BCS championship.

The only way that would happen, considering how you drop by losing late in the year would be if all the teams ranked from 3-5 right now lost another game.

That is the most logical scenario, but I am afraid it won't happen - some douche bag will pay enough to let either ISC, Florida or gulp, Rutgers play for the title

Mecca 11-12-2006 07:13 PM

What is......ISC? I have to ask....

As of right now, I think that's probably the most logical thing to do. If USC or Florida or somebody looks really good down the stretch that could change my mind. But right now you'd definitely have to say OSU and Michigan made it to the end of the season as the two best teams... one losing to the other wouldn't change that, you'd think.

You are correct tk, it doesn't change who the best 2 teams are

I think that's the normal result if you lose late.

But what if the game was so close that there was sentiment amongst the voters to keep whoever loses at #2?

I don't understand the whole numbers game with the BCS, but I think that scenario is a realistic possibility.

Da KC Man is right in one sense - if we didn't want to have this discussion, then we should have taken care of Oregon State.

ChiefsCountry 11-12-2006 08:02 PM

USC will trip up either to Cal or ND, but more than likely they will get knocked off by Cal and then beat ND.

Mojo Rising 11-12-2006 08:50 PM

If USC beats Cal, ND and UCLA then they do deserve to play in the National Championship game. They played much better last night than the 3 games before Stanford.

What makes you believe this......Cal has had it's moments of looking horrible this year.

USC hasn't lost a home game in 5 years....

Bearcat 11-12-2006 11:46 PM

I wonder how big of an impact the refs of the Oklahoma/Oregon game have on the BCS rankings... Oregon loses that game, they all of a sudden have zero quality wins and is just another soft unranked Pac-10 opponent. Just a thought...

OSU and Michigan have a fairly large lead, so I think if OSU loses a close game, they may only drop to #2.

Being a big fan of a playoff or even a +1, assuming one does drop out of the top 2, it's the best scenario we could ask for with the BCS.... have the top 2 teams in the country play and then have the winner play #3. Obviously not the best situation for OSU & Michigan fans, but great for the rest of us, and probably the closest we'll ever come to a playoff.

I'd like to see the winner of OSU/Michigan play the SEC Champion, so hopefully California or ND can take care of business.

Rutgers being #2 in the computer polls and being ahead of Arkansas just goes to show how f***ed up the system is right now...

Mecca 11-12-2006 11:48 PM

What's with all this SEC supremacy bullshit honestly........Arkansas is leading the West and is ranked top 10, they got smoked by USC.

Arkansas didnt have a QB at the time either.

Casey Dick riding the pine.......I'm sure the Dick would have made a big difference in that game....

I know people wanna give the SEC the supremacy thing and all that but those defenses aren't nearly as good as they're made about to be. Alot of the conference is frankly bad offense. Look Arkansas installs and system that works because it's funky and no one can stop them.

Auburn a few years ago hired an average OC from the Pac and they go undefeated......

People may not like the Pac but atleast the teams all run pro style systems and know how to play offense the rest of the country still hasn't figured it out.

hypersensitiveZO6 11-13-2006 12:20 AM

Arkansas will beat Florida. :fire:

Chagrin, I wouldnt say they suck, they had one bad game. Thats probably the only game you have watched of them besides the Michigan game so hold your "dumb" thoughts to yourself, especially when you dont know what you are talking about.

FringeNC 01-09-2007 10:01 AM

"Meyer's spread option will never work against elite teams". Those people look a little foolish now.

El Jefe 01-09-2007 10:03 AM

Yep wont work in the NFL just like the "option" doesnt.
