6-1 the rest of the way or we are out!

If we want to be considered a legit playoff team that's what we have to do. Did the Miami game show our true colors? We have to beat the teams we're supposed to beat, win all our home games and only lose at San Diego. That's it. If we can't do it then there is always next year.

Good luck Trent. I'm praying you don't get your head handed to you.

PinkFloyd 11-16-2006 03:13 PM

Yep --- I do believe your right... It's 6-1 or we are screwed !!!

GoHuge 11-16-2006 03:13 PM

You seem to be berry berry smart!

BigRedChief 11-16-2006 03:17 PM

Disagree. Jets will lose 3 more games. Jascksonville will lose 2 games including one to us. We lose 2 games and we are in because of the tiebreaker.

Reerun_KC 11-16-2006 03:18 PM

Yep, 5-2 and we are on the outside looking in. Each week is a playoff for the Chiefs.

They need to approach it as Double Elimination. 2 more loses and we are watching and waiting for the Chiefs yearly motto.. "There is always next year!"

Archie Bunker 11-16-2006 03:18 PM

5-2 gets it done.

Yeah where pretty much shit-and 1 in the AFC. Tie breakers will leave us at home.

We lost to Cinci, so conference record doesn't matter there. We are going to play the Jags, conference record doesn't matter. The only way the conference record will matter is if we tie with the Jets or SD/Denver really slides.

I don't think his thread header matches his thread post. In the header he gives the impression they won't make the playoffs but it is clear from his thread post that he means we won't be a legitimate playoff team unless we can finish 6-1.

This is BRILLIANT!!

So you're sayin 11-5 gets us in, 10-6 is iffy. Wow, wish I'd come up with that.

No freaking way does a 10-6 get left out two years in a row, but I still think we will go 11-5.

You guys were saying 12-4 last week. Chiefs will finish at 10-6 best. Probably lose 2 games to one of the following SD, DEN, OAK, BALT, JAX. Chef fans might be the biggest homers on the planet and they must not remember last week. Your guys answer about getting green back now this team had same loss at Buffalo last year.

Mr. Laz 11-16-2006 05:07 PM

5-2 works IF 4 of those wins come in our own division.

sweep raiders
beat san diego
beat denver

denver beats san diego

2nd place in the division

Good one Logical. Your very observant. I believe there is a chance we can get in the playoffs at 10-6, but it will depend on a lot of other teams imploding. the bigger point is that teams not winning at least 11 games don't get very far during the playoffs. I believe there has been 1 or 2 teams that made the Super Bowl who won less than 11 games. I don't believe any team won a World Championship with less than 11 games won.

The theory is you are not very good if you don't win 11 or more.

Based on this we will probably have to wait until next year to achieve this.

FAX 11-16-2006 05:30 PM

Oftentimes, the second half of the season is the most important half. And, a lot can happen over the course of the next two months. I wish our bye week had come a little later, but pookie glub on that.

We have injury problems, sure. We have a semi-controversy at the QB position, okay. We have a bunch of knuckleheads running our offense, accepted. We have problems winning on the road against miserable teams, given.

But, the fact is we have LJ and Ja-red and lots and lots of nutty posters. If they can't get us into the playoffs, no one can.

I'm gonna get screwed no matter what when my wife gets home, either she will put the screws to me about what I did all day, or she will go to bed early with a headache leaving me the dishes, or she'll do the dishes,. be in a good mood, and screw me the other way. Every day I am screwed, no matter what.

Although, I think you are right about the same kind of loss. This Miami game will come back to haunt the Chiefs just like that Buffalo game. But I think there are some extenuating circumstances there. That was the second game after Green lost his father. I'm of the belief that Green was grieving to the point of also having lost his focus. He threw some really bone-headed passes in that first half. Green rarely throws those. His concentration was so far gone, I wanted Collins to start the second half of that game. As I remember Green's first pass in the second half was intercepted making it his third one.

Yes Green lost that game that day and it was that game that basically spoiled the Chiefs' season. But I put more onus on Vermeil, though, for staying with Green who obviously was torn to the point of having so much else on his mind. That scenario was the perfect definition for when to go to your backup and IMO Vermeil screwed that one up.

But there is no doubt about who should be leading this team into the most critical games. Trent Green is far more experienced with this offense. He's into his second and third read before Huard decides he shouldn't throw to his first.

Yes, 9 games. The streak ended at Cincy putting us at 9 and 1. We then proceeded to lose 2 of our last 6. Both away games.

I wish ignorant people would stop bringing this up. The first tiebreaker is head to head, so the only way the tiebreaker matters is if we tie with the Jets. If we tie with the Jags, who will go will be decided by who wins that final regular season game. If we tie with Cinci, Cinci will go since they beat us earlier this season.

They have won the same amount of playoff games as chargers and chiefs. I assume you mean since 2003.

You dumbass. No one here wanted the Chiefs to go 13-3.

RINGLEADER 11-16-2006 11:37 PM

I would say 6-1 virtually guarantees us a spot but unless the Jets/Patriots or Jaguars get really hot 5-2 should be sufficient.

Nice way to mask the fact that your team is the joke of the NFL and the worst run team in the last 25 years.

This is so riduculous that it has a ring of truth to it. :p

chiefsfan1963 11-17-2006 12:42 AM

my point here is you are a pretender in this league if you can't win 11 games or more during the regular season. I know fans would love to get to the playoffs and are hoping we can still get in with a 10-6 record, but what happens to 10-6 teams when they get to the playoffs? They lose!

I'm not sure any 10-6 team in nfl history went to the Super Bowl or if they did they didn't win.

6-1 or bust. The odds are way against us if we don't.
